Just bought a gorgeous, one owner, 2011 Countryman S with 127k miles. Only two weeks into this, the attraction is fading very fast. $$$$$ and we've just started getting estimates for possible service repairs, only two rides into the experience. Had I only known there were so many potential issues to deal with, before I bought it!
It’s because the prior owner didn’t properly maintain the vehicle. It’s not because the brand itself is unreliable. I’ve owned 2016 Countryman s, driven well over 100’000 km had one issue with accelerator pedal. But that was around 95’000 km! *That’s the only issue!* Guys remember to maintain your vehicles and you’ll have a much higher chance of just having a very reliable hatchback! CHANGE YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUID ACCORDINGLY! BMW will tell you not to. And that’s why many of them break after 100K miles! Be smart they can easily last over 220K miles if you are smart!
Thank you again for another comprehensive and really interesting car review, this time on a 'maxi mini'. Lovely to see the beautiful English villages and countryside as an added bonus!. From 'two squares in a (Nissan) cube' NZ :)
Actually to call you out on what you had said; the countryman name originated from the original company! Austin mini Countryman 1966 to 1973 I believe. They didn’t make too many however.

I am looking to get a 2016 model, what issues have you had so far? I am sure repairs will be costly as it’s a bmw through and through.
@@squeakycrypto8323 BMW repair costs don't need to be high at all, find a good independent mechanic and buy the parts yourself
