Gas Strut Installation for Cabinet Doors on 2021 Coachmen Prism 24CB

The cabinet doors above the bed in our 2021 Coachmen Prism 24CB had no support to stay open. This made it very awkward to put things in or take things out of the cabinet because one hand, or your head, had to be utilized to keep the door open! Now, with the addition of gas struts, when the doors are open they stay open. Installation was fairly easy and well worth the time and cost involved.

you installed them upside down, that's not the correct position for a gas strut

I installed as pictured in the strut information on amazon. The struts work fine as I installed. But it’s not problem to flip them. Do you know why most struts are installed with rod down? Appreciate your comment

@@timetogo4533 because when it's positioned upside down, the fluid will lubricate properly the mechanism. You can search for a full detailed explanation on youtube, there is a guy who explains in detail. Glad to help
