I think this is probably as close to completely comedy genius and perfection as is possible. The last 12 or so lines of dialogue each have so much heft and are so perfectly written and delivered. Amazing.
Hilarious sketch. The thing is they never actually say its an abortion/miscarriage ... it could just have been a budgie or something, its our own minds that jump to conclusions.
I felt very sick at myself for laughing at this. I know it gets said all the time about Chris Morris but the man is a total genius. If it were possible to give something 6 stars once a year this is what would get mine. Godlike writing.
Chris Morris always shows you that when you think you're fucked up, you haven't met him. This was painful to watch, and I'm kicking myself for laughing.
Has anyone even considered that they (Mark, Kevin and Julia) didn't have that music in the background that we hear/watch in the finished piece. Fucking DARK man!
I would say " Sex has fucked society", But the joke joke has too many levels that you're too scared to accept... So emm, SEX am i right boys... hehehe, something like that right? lol
I think she either had a miscarraige or premature still birth - not a termination. The husband had no idea of the 'one off' - although I could be wrong.
There was another sketch where you saw couples walking in the grounds of an abortion clinic cradling tiny coffins, all smiling and enjoying the sunshine.A couple walked up to the door. She is pregnant. They see friends who walk up and say hi.The man waves goodbye to her bump as they walk in.....
@ReciprocalZeugma First off, there's nothing in this clip to confirm it's an abortion, in fact the initial tone suggests a mis-carriage. Secondly, I don't think in milliion years you could possibly say what a woman or women can and cannot do. Nothing you have EVER done or will ever do could even come close to granting you that kind of right.
oh my jam thats quite erm, disturbing cz he has no idea what hes doing "i dont think i could afford that much again anyway..." is it just me thats cringing, willing him to shut up at that point?
F***ing hell...I don't know what else to say in regards to this twisted brilliance. Why am I now just discovering this? I've been a fan of British comedy for awhile now...but I feel horribly deprived and my soul feels empty. And I agree with xxtiaan, why are there no full episodes....I think this abyss in the innermost part of my being has finally found something that will fill this emptiness.
@DnB and Psy Production thank you for replying to my 11 year old comment. I think that’s great. I ended up learning about Charlie this last decade but I appreciate your commitment. Cheers!
@gingergiblet hahahahahaaaaa r u for real??? you remind me of this guy i know. every1 hates him n he has no idea. makes stuff up (thats absolutely rediculous) to make himself seem great but ends up looking a blind fool.
oh my fucking god!!! "I dont think I could afford that much again" when was this made?! why are there no whole eps on utube? how could something be darker than "its all about ryan", why am i crying as Im laughing? so many questions so few answers
Oh, I see, gingergiblet - you're making sexist comments, but you aren't actually being sexist because you said that you're "not being sexist". Nice of you to clear that up for me, otherwise I would have thought that your sexism was just sexism. Now I see that your sexism isn't sexist at all. Thanks for that.
Whats funny about this though? Like seriously, instead of people just gushing and fanboying over Chris Morris. What's ACTUALLY funny about this? Nothing.
absolute genius! I do UK sketch humour but its nothing when put side by side with Morris. I think that was a shamless plug mixed with self degradation...hmmm
The notes accompanying the show refer to an abortion, as does the report explaining why complaints were upheld. And I have a right to uphold morality, although I cannot compel women to comply.
Blue Jam on Radio 1 and Jam on Channel 4 were genius.Very dark but satirical of too-polite middle class types so terrified of being seen in a bad light, they would undergo all kinds of perversity and weirdness.Extending the sketch show to it's logical conclusion, this was never bettered.Everyone involved took a new path after this finished.Check out Cook'd and Bomb'd on google.
Just when you think it can't get any more wrong, there's that last line.
even if i came up with something as good as that, I'm not sure how I would go about writing it down, asking other people to be in it and then film it.
I thought the same when I first watched Happiness by Todd Solondz.
I think this is probably as close to completely comedy genius and perfection as is possible. The last 12 or so lines of dialogue each have so much heft and are so perfectly written and delivered. Amazing.
I love how Kevin's character is so self assured he's done the decent thing!
Why has there been nothing even close to this since?
Because it was just a one-off.
Or before
There's been nothing like it before or since. It's a one off, as Barry said.
Why would anyone want another Jam?
idk, MAD Tv got pretty close
Fucking beautiful! "I don't think I could afford that much again, anyway". Priceless.
The only time I was ever offended by a TV show Chris Morris is a genius
Chris Morris always shows you that when you think you're fucked up, you haven't met him. This was painful to watch, and I'm kicking myself for laughing.
Has anyone even considered that they (Mark, Kevin and Julia) didn't have that music in the background that we hear/watch in the finished piece. Fucking DARK man!
Utterly dark and perfect.
Oh my good God! I just ate my own fist out of shere shock!
Morris, you legend!
The ESCALATION
Jesus.
"I dont think I could afford that much again" lol
I don't get it. Why would the baby die again.
He just meant that he could not afford paying for sex with her again.
i couldnt think of a more awkward situation to be in XD
Because he said "brought".
I would say " Sex has fucked society", But the joke joke has too many levels that you're too scared to accept... So emm, SEX am i right boys... hehehe, something like that right? lol
That is the most apt description of this show that I've seen.
I think she either had a miscarraige or premature still birth - not a termination. The husband had no idea of the 'one off' - although I could be wrong.
Total Fucking Agony. Genius.
I haven't watched something so perfect in my entire life.
I thought the dead baby/plumber was bad enough 😂
That was darker than a black hole in a well-sealed lead-lined box buried in soft peat for three months.
What's peat?
this really is dark shit! incredible!
perfection
OMG LOL the most sicking thing ever!!! I maybe watching this ages ago!
ok.. that's it for me...
This sketch hits you like a brick wall in to the face.

Lollerz!
Brexit brexit bieirit breit breit t rumpey trump bnad man yellow blah blah fuck, ing blaahahfsuijahnfgvosdikjgeposrdegkwse
Incredible.
one of the best, never fails to amuse!
he says "i dont think i could afford that much again anyway" which could mean the price of abortion.. not sure though..
oh my jam thats quite erm, disturbing cz he has no idea what hes doing
"i dont think i could afford that much again anyway..."
is it just me thats cringing, willing him to shut up at that point?
John Oliver cited Chris Morris as one of his favorite comedians so I wound up here. Next, we search for Andy Zaltsman.
F***ing hell...I don't know what else to say in regards to this twisted brilliance. Why am I now just discovering this? I'll fill it for you, Jessica. AAAYYYYYyYYY!!!!!1!!!!1!one!!
There are full episodes.
@ReciprocalZeugma
Cool story bro.
i think i've just been pwned.
@ReciprocalZeugma Call me stupid but...WTF is a wrap of charlie and where can i get some?
@DnB and Psy Production thank you for replying to my 11 year old comment. I think that’s great. I ended up learning about Charlie this last decade but I appreciate your commitment. Cheers!
You can be honest about what you think and so will I. I don't see how me calling your comments sexist is an attack on your freedom of speech.
@gingergiblet
hahahahahaaaaa r u for real??? you remind me of this guy i know. every1 hates him n he has no idea. makes stuff up (thats absolutely rediculous) to make himself seem great but ends up looking a blind fool.
i don't think i could afford that much again.. haaa... but overall i think this sketch is kind of wrong....
That's just about the most fucked up thing I've ever seen....
This video stopped loading for me temporarily at 1:49.
It was all the more funnier as a result, as I was allowed to laugh.
There are loads of full episodes of this on TH-cam, you tubes. The series is called Jam, the Radio series was called Blue Jam.
fucking brilliant - I love a good abortion joke
@beckyinnam now pat yourself on the back.....good job Becky.
crossed my mind too.. dunno..
oh my fucking god!!!
"I dont think I could afford that much again"
when was this made?! why are there no whole eps on utube? how could something be darker than "its all about ryan", why am i crying as Im laughing?
so many questions so few answers
Erm - all six full episodes are freely available on TH-cam.

Poor bar-wait it was his!?

@ReciprocalZeugma ah
Been there, done that.
hulareeis
I laughed far too hard at this
Brilliant
Wow. Just, wow.
can someone explain this?
I'm being slow
I think she had a miscarriage
Whats funny about this though? Like seriously, instead of people just gushing and fanboying over Chris Morris.
What's ACTUALLY funny about this? Nothing.
We're sorry you don't get it.
absolute genius! I do UK sketch humour but its nothing when put side by side with Morris. I think that was a shamless plug mixed with self degradation...hmmm
He bought them little something that he made himself? Why did he pay for it?
Oh dear......
He didn't pay for the coffin he paid for the abortion.
@@craigeast3682 More likely he paid for the one-off sex session with the wife that led to the pregnancy in the first place.
turn the fucking music off!!!
HAHAHAHA
I watched this on telly years ago......ugly humor
+nopaincobain72 It is ugly isn't it!
