This is what it feels like to go to a therapist. The fact that you’re paying a stranger to fix personal problems that you can’t fix for yourself is so degrading- it makes you feel fundamentally broken, fundamentally inferior to the person you’re paying to make you feel better about yourself. Not that therapy isn’t valuable, but that aspect of the experience is demoralizing.

It’s amazing how much bad news a person can get in four minutes.

Chris Morris must’ve thought the name Martin was really funny. He uses it for so many of the men in the other sketches, and here he even modifies it for a woman.

The shot of the drab room with multiple people nailed to boards, ignoring each other as they moan with agony, completely absorbed in their pain but still too timid to let themselves scream, is one of the most hellish things ever filmed. Quintessential Chris Morris.

Kevin Eldon’s facial expressions are otherworldly

“And he gives you this sniffing stuff, which, uh… makes it easier” is an amazing line made even more alienating and upsetting and hilarious by Mark Heap giving it the tiniest bit of a John Cleese inflection.

The way Mark Heap delivers “I’ve actually had an offer” is terrifying. Just this gleeful little demon man who’s completely in control of this situation and doesn’t even have to pretend to be nice about it.

This is one of the lightest and least disturbing Jam sketches, and it’s literally about psychological torture. I love this show.

The sheer coziness of this sketch is unbelievable. Morris somehow makes this absurd conversation between fictional characters feel like a half-forgotten childhood memory. For a tiny moment, the kitchen in the sketch feels like the kitchen in the house where I grew up.

"Just doesn't bare thinking about" - absolute genius delivery (like "sobbing in quite a wretched way" in Suicide With An Escape Clause) This whole sketch is a masterpiece.

Mark Heap is famous for playing creeps and weirdos, but I love how completely he throws himself into it here. The way he enunciates "legal guardian", as though he can't believe his luck, is amazing. SO wrong, it's almost right.
