From the looks of it, this man drove his car and bike to some commercial parking lot, unloaded and disassembled everything, and then reassembled the trailer and reloaded the bike in order to make this review. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this review was filmed mid-roadtrip. That right there is commitment, but also a testament to how easy this trailer is to manage. A+ content.
Agree with Robert Tate: this is a very nicely done, clear and concise presentation without unnecessary bull and/or wasteful 'filler'. The sound level is a bit problematic, but it's a small matter balanced against the overall authority and illustrative nature of the video. Wish more TH-cam presentations were this good. It would have been helpful to cite a few of the basic trailer specs (such as GVWR, etc.) so that the trailer's rated capacities are known. Otherwise, very slick and timely.
I use the little Harbor Freight trailer with a wood plank. I can disconnect the trailer with the wr250 on the trailer and move it around with ease. The plywood deck I put on it holds my extra gas cans. This one looks so refined that even you're grandmother could use it.
I think this is a pretty neat trailer. Could be stored on a shelf when you're not using it. Don't forget to add a safety chain to be DOT compliant. It's the first thing that Patrol officers look at your trailer to make sure it's hooked up properly. Also, if I buy this trailer, I will add plugs at the rear tail lights so that I can load the bike before I install the assemblies. That way I don't have to step over them.
Motolug would recommend the 10" wheels if you tow ball height exceeds 16.5" from the ground to the centre of the ball. If you have 8" wheels on a higher tow ball, when you come to tilt the trailer towards the ground you may find that there is a large gap between the floor and the rear of the trailer (same if you have the 10" on a low tow ball). The benefit of the 10" wheel is that over the same distance travelled there will be less rotation reducing wear and tear on both tyres and bearings when compared to the 8" (but this is minimal).
I would dissamble brake/turn signals before loading a heavier MC. Then reassemble lights. It appears awkward to step over those light stems when loading. Just sayin', not bad.
Awesome ! TY I only have one bike! Similar to yours and see this as a more compact option as oppose to a bigger trailer (and needing to put it somewhere when it’s not being used ) that seem to be what normally available!
Considering one of these. I believe this is the version with the slightly bigger wheels. For a normal car the smaller wheels are recommanded so that the back touches the ground when loading and is sits more straight aswell.
Good video,, Obviously you drove the bike onto the trailer, over the raised wheel chock to locate bike into wheel holder. I imagine getting a big bike off not too easy getting over the raised wheel chock.
I like this idea because I can take it apart and put it in the suv while i'm out riding my bike in the wood . You can also use it to load up your bike and take it to the garage with you to get your truck worked on for a few days and put the trailer in the back of the truck out of the way and not get stolen from the shop .
I have one of these. I do not need the additional ramp extender you made. Offer the bike up to the ramp and the trailer will dip sufficiently to run the bike up. They are a excellently engineered and fabricated trailer. They do 3 different weight carrying capacity's AND a 2 bike conversion kit. MOTOLUG UK
Your instructional video was incredibly thorough and informative. Looks like a GREAT product too. Thank you so much. PS: I have a "Trailer in a Bag." It has served me well, but there are aspects of the Motolug that I like better.
Nice trailer! You might won't to leave the light assy off the kick stand side of the bike while your loading it though. It would be easier than stepping over it and wouldn't have to worry about getting tangled up in it if anything went wrong while loading the bike.
Just ordered my 50mm Ball and riser. That little .8 difference between the 2" ball and the 50mm ball, is enough to stop the whole thing from locking down.
Now I'm just concentrating on proving that I had all needed documents submitted for registration. The second you mention that it came from overseas, the MVC turns you around, thinking that you don't have the needed paperwork and duties paid. So the next time I go down there, I have to find someone to actually listen to me.. I tried to explain that I physically have the trailer at home, meaning that I already had the needed paperwork done, and paid needed taxes and customs already. (Since they would not release the trailer without that being done).
Hi again Bret its been a few years, I hope all is good with you and your family. I'm writing you to ask a question about your video. Your creation of this video is what helped me make a decision to purchase the Motolug trailer. I too was looking for a trailer that was assembled with only one person, no tools, and can be loaded and unloaded by a single person. Also, because it breaks down, it made storage, in a bedroom closet possible. Because of downsizing and job loss, I may have to pack up and move, I'm now looking to sell my bike, trailer and others items I've purchased. Out of all the videos I've seen, your's was the most informative and it helped me purchase an, awesome trailer I've really only used it twice, to attend a motorcycle rally in PA It held up really well with my larger 1991 Yamaha V-MAX1200. My bike weighs about 636 lbs wet, and the trailer worked flawlessly. Having to wait for DMV to finalize everything, being that it was purchased overseas, it was a bit nerve-racking getting so close to the date of the Rally, but it worked out fine.. At least,, anyone purchasing it now, won't have too deal with the shipping and other stuff we had too :-) . I was wondering, if it would be OK to ad your video link as an add-on. to any ad that I might post for the sale of my bike and trailer. There wouldn't be any action needed on your part, and after the sale, (whenever that happens) I would look to send you a little monetary thank you, just for leaving that video up and running. I don't know if your sill have my email address, If not, you can reply to this post and we can work out a communication method, for the transfer of funds. Thanks again for all your help.. Take care bud.
@@melonking1 Awesome.. You will be stated as the driving force as to why I made the derision to purchase that trailer. I'll send you the link once i'm ready to list the items.. Thanks again.. Take care.
8:44 to 8:48...right..so how do you keep the bike UPRIGHT without either an extra pair of hands to hold it while you secured it down with straps or since there is no side bar plate in which to lower the kickstand onto?
very well made and informative video but idk if I want to be loading my 825 lbs. Harley on that trailer, its nice if you're 6 foot tall and the bike weighs 400 lbs. but what about for people like me that are only 5'3" and the bike is over 800 lbs.?
Does it rattle? I would think with just using pins instead of nuts and bolts this thing would rattle a lot. And I would think would eventually wear on the holes the pins go through.
@Brett Hoffmann, have you ever experienced any swerve due to higher center of gravity? Also, have you used the trailer on uneven roads with pot holes etc ?
No, I’ve never had any swerving issues. I used it once on an uneven road where the highway was being replaced and one lane was higher than the other. Everything worked fine.

Awesome video, very straight forward! The only the a little sketchy is the bike load. I guess you just have to be careful. 2nd or 3rd gear would be good probably. Love Utah, great place to ride. Thanks again for this very informative vid and the extras you threw in.
As far as loading with such a low approach angle I would have just pushed the bike, (probably very easy finding a slight downhill to load and unload it making it even easier than a perfect flat surface) I think would reduce any accidental clutch engagement and accident.
Did you purchase another 4 way connector with wiring harness, or did you crimp/solder? I really want this trailer but I’m stuck on the wiring aspect for the US
I purchased directly from motolug. I think the capacity for the trailer in the video is 800 lbs…motolug might have bigger trailers to fit your bike. I’d reach out to them.

Basically I took off the original light fixtures, installed the new ones (had to drill a couple holes for the bolts and to get wiring through the lighting plates), and then used the cabling which came with the trailer to make all the electrical connections between the lights and the 4-flat connection to my car. Simple electrical work with some wire nuts and electrical tape.
+Dave Brown The wheel chock pivots on a pin so it "accepts" the front wheel when loading and "releases" the front wheel when unloading. Towards the end of the video you can see me load the bike and the wheel chick pivot. The opposite goes for unloading.
