That’s interesting! My Shamir drinks water like nothing…. I’m going to look into oil soaks, I have never heard of that. Thanks for sharing and watching ❤❤
I no longer let people speak over my hair negatively. If they do so I counter it right then, right there. If they don’t believe in my hair being healthy and thriving then I don’t have them as a stylist. I have a trusted stylist right now. Only her and I touch my hair. ❤
Awesome blessings to you, gawgeous Lady...I'm on the natural journey with you since May 2023. My hair is thick and healthy. I did braids, but they were too tight and heavy. Now I'm washing, conditioning and blowing my hair dry. Tried silk press, but my location in South Texas and humidity was a waste of time and $$$ 😢 Like you said, "it's a journey" and I will figure it out. Thank you so much for your video. Blessings upon Blessings to you 🙏
Its great to have a regime, I wash my hair every 5-7 days and twist it for 2 to 3 days then wear a twist out for 2 to 3 days that my routine, deep conditioning twice a month, I am in my 60s and my hair is thriving 😊
Really liked your video, I’m also over 50 & am struggling with growing my hair back after chemotherapy. I subscribed to your channel & will be watching along with trying new things for my hair health. 😊
I love curly hair crisis to. I also know about the indigenous lady as well. I also stopped getting relaxers and I also changed my diet because I was starting to have thyroid issues also. And you are right staying away from all the dairy and red meat and I no longer have thyroid issues. I have been doing the mini twist since the beginning of 2025. I said I am going to do things try and see how my hair grows and stay away from the expensive salons. My hair is very coarse and thick so it has been a struggle finding products.i do use castor oil as well. I also drink fenugreek water and some other vitamins. Let’s go on this journey together ❤
I don’t know this video got on my feed. I am on a journey to grow my hair and am over 50. I have heard the same thing regarding genetics but I refuse to believe that. I am so glad that this video found its way to me. 😊🎉
New SUBBIE to the #Isingthe80s (I_Sing_The_80s) ♥️ ... This reset is just what I needed. I recently cut my menapausal halo grey, super fine, thin, high porosity, waist length 4A/B-ish tresses. I AM currently sitting at armpit length and embracing simplicity! ❤❤❤
Hi I loved your video and enjoyed you hair journey I wear my hair just like you for many years now I do braids instead. My hair is thicker and longer than my natural hair has ever been. I too love a clay wash I use Rhassoul clay due to the high silica content. Just wanted to say try deep conditioning. Your hair will need protein to strengthen. There are also very good moisturising deep conditioners which will help your hair maintain moisture. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏽👍🏾💕
Thank you!! I will research some good deep conditioners for sure. I don’t think I’ve deep conditioned since 2023…so I’ll definitely see what I can find. Thanks for subbing and watching!
New subscriber I really enjoy this video I'm 60 want my hair to flourish trying to get past shoulder length thanks for this information much appreciated
I love your story. I am on thyroid medication and my hair is very dry and brittle. How long did it take to fix your issue and did you see a big change in how your hair felt?
I did a vegan diet for about 30 days and my thyroid problem was gone and my hair started growing back. I worked with a natural wellness counselor who created my eating plan. My hair was transformed when I did it.
Love your video, AND you have beautiful hair , nice and thick and I love the gray hair . I'm letting my color grow out and my gray come in. New Subbie. Thanks🥰
Hey Sis! Love the hair style and Looking forward to seeing your hair journey! 🥰 I’ve watched all the ladies you mentioned. 💕 Since you’re using clay to cleanse your hair, I don’t think you’ll need conditioner. I’ve been drinking fenugreek tea daily for over a year now and I like it.
Thank you! I was thinking that, because it’s so soft after I use the clay. Thank you!! I have the tea too, I need to be consistent with drinking it. Imma start today!! And track it. Thanks again!!
I would really like to go through this challenge with you. I turn 63 in 3 days. I've been natural since 2010, after many years of having a relaxer. I've been doing everything I could think of to get my hair back to at least shoulder length, but I haven't been successful. But, I thank God that my hair is still full and thick, and I've never had any bald spots. I'm just desiring back bra strap length. I do my trims every 8 or more weeks, shampoo deep condition, leave in conditioner, natural oil scalp massages, protective hairstyles, wigs, etc... I'm starting the Chebe butter, oil, shampoo and conditioner bundle. It appears to help a lot with split ends and breakage. Please reply if you can give me some additional pointers. Thanks
Definitely!!! Let’s do this! I am keeping it super simple. Last year I did lots of protective styles and would wear my hair for like 3 days and return to the protective styling and my hair has grown longer than it’s ever been. I’m going to have it in twists for the most part during this challenge. I need low manipulation styles, because I have a tendency to keep my fingers in my hair. I think you’re on the right track with all that you’re doing. I only get a trim like once a year, because it stays in protective styles for a majority of the time. I’ll be cheering you on!
Hey there! I actually went through early menopause when I was in my late 30s. My hair was super dry all the time and broke off some because I wasn’t taking care of it like I should, so I did another big chop and started all over again. I’ll have to see if I can find some pics and videos from that time. Great question
Please be careful with the clay washing, the clay leaves residue which itself will leave build up on your hair and get worse as you use moisturisers and keep clay washing. This will be layers of build up. I used a mix of Rhassoul, Bentonite and Kaolin a few years ago and like you I didn't deep condition because the Rhassoul clay is so moisturising but very quickly my hair never felt clean despite my washing once a week, before long I couldn't get my hands through my hair and was tearing it out to detangle. I realised it was my clay wash and Rhassoul clay inparticular should be used with caution for those with fine hair because it is so heavy. I used a clarifying shampoo but it couldn't save all of my hair so I had to cut it, I really should have cut all my hair because of the damage it sustained with the build up and my attempts to style and detangle it. I now always shampoo my hair ensuring to follow up with a good deep conditioner and a heat cap. Also ensure to do periodic protein treatments as afro hair is porous so benefits highly from protein. Natural is good but for hair the technology in the synthetic formulations is a blessing. I had a load of the clay wash premixed, would never use it on my hair again but it is divine on the skin.
Oh wow! I’m so sorry that happened to you! I have been using this clay for about a year now and haven’t had any issues. I may add a black soap wash, or the use of soap nuts, as used by indigenous strandz. Thanks for sharing your story with me ❤❤
Yes ma’am, I LOVE THEM!!! I watch her videos as I am doing my hair on re moisturizing days and wash days. I love her!! She gives A LOT of information as well as being an inspiration. She cares about your hair growth. Even though she makes her own products she’s not boosting them that much when she’s trying to give you advice about what you need to do and not to do. She really cares.😊
❤❤❤❤❤ great video, keep smiling that beautiful smile.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
I believe in doing oil soaks as opposed to deep conditioning for my own hair. It drinks up water and oil like a desert.
That’s interesting! My Shamir drinks water like nothing…. I’m going to look into oil soaks, I have never heard of that. Thanks for sharing and watching ❤❤
I’ve heard of hot oil treatments, but not oil soaks.

If they don’t believe in my hair being healthy and thriving then I don’t have them as a stylist.
