Another top job ken would have like to see a main dealer do a job like that no mate we’ll have to get a tow in and book you in good old fashioned service well done
I'm very impressed with your skill using the hot spanner! You did very well to get the bush off the spring eye pin and those nuts off the u bolts without damaging them, obviously well versed in doing that 👍🏻 It's nice to know that there still "proper" mechanics out there that can dismantle things without destroying them and just automatically throwing loads of parts at the job 👍🏻 Good old fashioned skill and service, top man
Nice repair job on the roadside here, Ken. It just goes to show what can be done with experience and the right tools to hand. Having a good parts supplier close to hand is a real bonus too for getting parts delivered to your job.
I’m not mechanically inclined. I usually have no idea what you’re talking about, but I enjoy watching you explaining what you’re doing, with such a great attitude. That’s the key to enjoying what we’re doing. I learned to be like that the last 10-15 years of my career. Thank you, Sir! the Old Retired Laborer, NY, U.S.
Hi Ken. Great job well done mate. I did my share of roadside repairs back in the eighties when I was a car mechanic for a hire company in Newcastle. Servicing, springs, brakes even clutches. In fact I still repair my own van on the road outside my house when it needs attention. Some things never change 😁 It’s a nice quiet little road that one outside the old Royal Ordinance Factory in Birtley there. Did he pick the road or just coincidence that the spring went on a not so busy road? It certainly makes a difference to how you get the job done not having to keep a weather eye on traffic all of the time. Crack on mate, see you in the next one.
Always good to see a boss working aswell as the lads not many around that do it ,Just gave up the service van job to work in nice workshop miss it somtimes but then winter reminds me i dont 🤣 always been cautious around bags and chambers had bag go off on axle next to 1 was working on and 💩💩 ma self
@@Awscommercials-kw4li thanks mate, pleased you liked the vid, I've had a bag blow when I was under aswell just like you,, definitely not good, hey I am just one of the lads, I'm not a boss at all mate
Hiya Ken. I’m quite a new subscriber. I don’t know how old you are but I imagine we’re about the same age. I’ve been a mechanic all my life. My question is how do you stay so positive. Your videos are really inspirational and some of your work is bloody hard. Really enjoying them but would like them longer when you have time 👍
Hi trevor I'm 49 yrs old mate, hey it's hard to be anything else than positive when your living the dream lol... your right though some of the jobs are hard work 👍
@@kensjobs2237 I am little bit older than you and still enjoy being a mechanic for the most part. I’ve been self employed in a small workshop for 33 years now and it’s generally the customers who drive me mad. Having said that I fix cars and vans predominantly so maybe that’s why.? Keep up the good work. I’m surprised your channel isn’t bigger as it represents real life for a change….,
I had an airbag on a loaded trailer blow right next to me when I was a first year apprentice. Certainly rattled the marble in me head. Tinnitus ever since.
Retired HGV fitter here. If you knew you were going to replace the U bolts, why didn't you just chop straight through them with the gas axe, instead of having to remove the (seized) securing nuts? Nonetheless, kudos for doing the job at the side of the road. Well done!
@@gospelman7222 I didn't know if I didn't know if I could get new u bolts that's why I sit the nuts off asi can get nuts from local supplier, luckily enough though I got new ones and a new eye pin

Fair play doing that on the side of the road
I thoughþ those u bolts would be siezed in the saddle.
Yea it was a nice surprise mate when they knocked out 👍
