Ah crap. Bought some RTC based on the recommendation in this video. A month later it comes time to do the seal replacement and for the life of me I can’t remember why I bought the oem Nissan RTV sealant. (Bought like 10 maintenance items all at once) After following along with this video, I get the nut installed. Only to get to the part where you mention the RTV after the nut is already installed. 😅 Oh well, hoping it should be fine
Thank you sir for the video! Helped out a lot when my seal pretty much gave out after a road trip. I was able to use an electric Bauer impact from HF, as well as their 3 pc puller set for the hub. (The large 6” puller for the hub, the small 3” got the seal out) Thanks again for taking the time for the vid 👍
another way would be to count the number of threads exposed. My manual doesnt give a torque spec, just to match threads and mark. or measure preload before and match after.
That pinion nut, had a hard time even finding the right part number. 38216-8S11A should be it. Z1 claims to have it, never bought from them. They call it m205 differential companion flange nut. Other than that, I'd imagine it's just an off the shelf pinch style lock nut, if you know the thread pitch and diameter you could probably find something equivalent. There's conflicting information on whether that fits models prior to 2007. Nissan's parts lookup lists multipe part no.s for the same piece, one of which is the same part number as the rear differential pinion nut.
Can't bring myself to put thread-locker on a lock nut. Alternative part number is Spicer 50336. Available from C&M gearworks online. Also any local shops that do axle service likely have them. Got two new ones from z1, ordered some from C&M too because it looked like z1 wasn't going to come through for a minute there, but they showed up eventually. The Spicer ones are the exact same identical part, just branded by the differential manufacturer instead of Nissan. Should be a 7/8"-14 flanged lock nut. Seems to be a bit of a unicorn, it's actually easier to find an OEM nut than source one yourself. The one from the rear axle has the same threads, but I don't know if it fits in the pinion flange along with a socket, it seems to be a slightly wider hex and I heard the original nut is a tight squeeze with a socket.
@@Posichronic thanks for the info. you're right about it being spicer, diffs and shafts are supplied to Nissan from Spicer. Rear diff nut is different. Found out after many techs do it this way and mark nut and reuse it instead of replacing it even on the Ford spicer diffs.

Glad the video helped and the fix worked for you
Did you use the 3 jaw puller set or the 2 jaw?
@@JustRay627 3 jaw. I bought the set of three for about $22 I think 🤔
@@ryanh.2049 And you used the Bauer plug-in impact wrench not the battery powered one correct?
@@JustRay627 Yes, the plug in version. Battery one might do it, but I went for the cheaper option.
Great job . Thank you
Thanks.
Well I screwed up and didn't mark the nut before removal nor did I measure the pre-load. Can you advise on how to torque the nut on reinstallation?

Is the one from the transfer case to the front diff the same seal ? Cause mines leaking from the transfer case
Different seal, same idea. I fixed the transfer case seal on my too last Saturday. I will have a video up on that soon.
@@TitanTown thanks man appreciate it
When the drain oil gluggs, the breather tube is plugged? It is by the air intake. It should be in the intake box? ? ?
I always take the fill plug out before the drain plug it shouldn't glug when both plugs are out. Breather is clipped to the back side if the airbox.
Did you use locktite on the pinion nut?
You are supposed to use a new nut but since i reused mine i used some blue loctite.

Thanks, I think z1 offroad sells it o line, RockAuto doesn't have one. The dealership might. I've found out most people reuse it.

the bearing or bearing comes out the same as the oil seal
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Is this the same for the rear?
Similar.
Thank youuu
You're welcome!
What year is the titan. And is an armada the same procedure?
2014. 05-15 Armada is the same they have the same front diff.
@@TitanTown thanks I appreciate the info. Doing a 2015 this weekend.
Hello, Someone know where can I find the rear diff nut? Im kinda confused with the part numbers🥴
Try Rockauto or Z1 Offroad. Its called a pinion nut and procedure is very similar to front. Or aftermarket one from amazon: amzn.to/3KlUT8I
@@TitanTown I just ordered it from Amazon, thanks for responding...I really apreciate it.🙏🏽It's time to work on my titan.
