It's undeniable that the graphics from the remake are an improvement over the original game. However, they are very dated compared to current-gen graphics which is why so many people (including myself) are underwhelmed by this trailer. I personally would've preferred a sequel to the 2008 Prince of Persia game but that will never happen...

My first console was a ps2 and games such as Prince of Persia, God of War, GTA, Jak & Daxter, Shadow of the Colossus, MGS 2 and Ratchet & Clank are some of my favourites. But none of them look remotely as good as this remake and neither does any other game that played on a ps2/xbox. It's like saying Ocarina of Time looks better on n64 than Twilight Princess on GameCube... If anything, this remake is on the same graphical level as the Forgotten Sands, which came out in 2010. Outdated compared to modern standards, but unquestionably better than any game from 2004

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they suck or anything, but as the current state of game development in India is still not so advanced, they should have worked on a whole new IP and should have showcased their talent.

The remake looks like an arcade interpretation. I really liked the serious and haunting design of the original. Made it so intriguing. I also wanted to see if they would add some of the cut content from the original. Such as the tigers, the mission in the slave village, and an actual good vizier boss fight. But we’ll see

I mean there definitely are improvements to the graphics in this remake, but the Prince's face render and animations need work. Some polish to the environments also needs to be applied.
Warrior Within remake should be of ps5 graphics lvl but future depends on this game,i think they should release a gameplay within a month to remove all hate and that gameplay was seriously a alpha one and there is lot in gameplay ,hopefully this becomes true.

Yeah, I don't get it. It's not the best looking game, but it's definitely solid for a 40 dollar remake. Hell, Kingdoms of Amular didn't even have anything done and that game is 40 dollars. People find a way to complain about absolutely everything.
Well it looks dissapointing when you compare this to the remakes that came out recently. Look at RE2 and FF7 Remake, you can see that people put the money and effort into those games. THIS does not live up to PS4 standards. The next gen is gonna come soon and this game LITERALLY looks like "Forgotten Sands" on the PS3. Prince Of Persia is my favourite franchise from my childhood and I'm really dissapointed and sad that it's not getting the effort and budget that it deserves. That's my personal opinion.
The Graphics are an very important part here cause it contains the spirit of the old games. Aswell as the soundtrack! Ofcourse Gameplay is the most important part in the end to keep the customers playing cause they have fun but if they fuck up the graphics, emotions, sound etc. in a REMASTER version of a game that we all loved as kids and still love today than fans will probably not buy the remaster. Specially if the old one has all the important parts better in the cinematics and gameplay and the remaster cost 40$ XD

I don't get the people who say that graphics don't matter, gameplay does. If gameplay is all that matters - why do remake at all, just play the original version, it's still looking pretty nice and has all the good gameplay in it. I've played the original a year ago and it still rocks. Good graphics IS what people usually expect from the remake.
the vizier's dialogue in the original is better, why did they change it? they also removed the part where vizier almost got the dagger but the prince grabbed it when he was flying away, I thought that was neat.
Its a remaster and deffinitly not with that poor animations and different cinematics that are WHEY WORSE and less emotional than the original one XD If they correct that facts than yes, i will buy it. But if they don't change that and don't listen to the fans than i will probably never buy it and I'm a huge fan of the Trilogy!
It's not that the game isn't better, it's not that it doesn't have better graphics. It's just that they can easily make it way, way, waaaaay better. This feels like a 2012 remake at best. Let's hope some things change for the best until 2021, they still kinda got some time.
Not too bothered either way. Would love a half assed version remake of Driver though. Just an upgrade with PS2 visuals with a great draw distance, still no getting out of the car or anything. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Honestly I didn't play the original but looking at the graphics i can tell it was some of the best graphics for the ps2 so for them to turn around in 2020 with these peak ps3 graphics should be an insult especially knowing what ubisoft can really do
Those who haven't watched the event, it was the alpha footage. Yes its coming out in 5 months but that doesn't mean that they just made the trailer yesterday with the latest version of the game. The trailer was probably made a few months back

In the original, they felt like sand zombies, beings that got corrupted and filled with sand. Creatures that got cursed into a state of life and death by time itself. Now they look like sand people made entirely of sand from a beach modeling contest that are bored with their own existence.

This is not a remake... nothing is changed just graphics... game needs a complete overhaul to be more modern have they learned nothing from Assassins creed... just remake this game in that engine... and give it similar combat... other than that keep the game the same... with updated visuals... but thats quite a dream.. really... they will reboot this franchise before they do the right thing... just remake the sands of time trilogy.. and they got gold... warrior within and two thrones was excellent games.. just need to be modernized combat wise.. visually ect... new engine. Id almost rather buy the original version and just mod it... over this remake... cause its just a hd release.. at this point.
Ok, honestly I don't get all that hate. The remake doesn't look like the best game ever made but it clearly has improved graphics, and when they aim for having a clean framerate+awesome game play then this remake should be great. Like for all people here saying the original looks better, you may like the style more but the graphic quality is way better in the remake.

When I heard they gave it to Ubisoft India I knew they cocked it. They gave a really great IP to a new studio, what did you expect? Says alot about their priorities and "love" for this game.

I see A LOT of people are confused and angry about the remake graphics but just to clarify, The art team did NOT want to make this game too HD. They preferred a more original approach with adjustments of course. The gameplay is also the exact same. They're is NO new levels or enemies.
first ever prins of persia i played was warrior within, it was a disk demo from a gaming magazine. second one i played was two thrones, i rented it from a gamestore as a kid, i never got past that giant in the arena :''p. but i'm deefinitely buying this one, the vibes i'm getting is crazy!.
I want to give my point here since I’ve grown up with this franchise and I love the trilogy to death. This is a cash grab through and through. Ubisoft has been sinking for years along EA and 2K with the shit they’re pulling and I want to see the day they all go away. Prince of Persia is a franchise that put Ubisoft on a pedestal with its gameplay, story, soundtracks, writing and now this remake (not the right term but oh well) is so wrong on so many levels. Voice acting is pretty bad (except for Yuri but he is just an amazing talent), the art style is also not right for the story and the setting of the game. The original had charm, the environment felt alive but mysterious, soundtrack was great and fits so well. To give this to a newbie studio is just a setup for failure and Ubisoft did it on purpose I feel like. Don’t fall for this obvious trap. I love the trilogy with all my hear and seeing this breaks it in pieces. I never felt more disappointed in my life after waiting for years for a remaster (after the horrible ps3 one that was pure shit)
I don't know why everyone keeps shitting on the graphics. I mean, not EVERY game without a cartoonish art style needs to be hyper-realistic, geez. I, for one, prefer the slightly less hyper-accuracy of the graphics. I AM, however, disappointed by the design of the sand monsters. In the original, they actually looked like warped monsters. Now, they just look like sandy humans. I'll still give the game a shot, though.

At the time i didnt like it because the heavy metal just feel it didnt fit. But after getting older, it has grown in me. And is a pretty neat game

Yeah, I don't get it. It's not the best looking game, but it's definitely solid for a 40 dollar remake. Hell, Kingdoms of Amular didn't even have anything done and that game is 40 dollars. People find a way to complain about absolutely everything.
Well it looks dissapointing when you compare this to the remakes that came out recently. Look at RE2 and FF7 Remake, you can see that people put the money and effort into those games.
THIS does not live up to PS4 standards. The next gen is gonna come soon and this game LITERALLY looks like "Forgotten Sands" on the PS3.
Prince Of Persia is my favourite franchise from my childhood and I'm really dissapointed and sad that it's not getting the effort and budget that it deserves.

The Graphics are an very important part here cause it contains the spirit of the old games. Aswell as the soundtrack!
Ofcourse Gameplay is the most important part in the end to keep the customers playing cause they have fun but if they fuck up the graphics, emotions, sound etc. in a REMASTER version of a game that we all loved as kids and still love today than fans will probably not buy the remaster.
Specially if the old one has all the important parts better in the cinematics and gameplay and the remaster cost 40$ XD

I don't get the people who say that graphics don't matter, gameplay does. If gameplay is all that matters - why do remake at all, just play the original version, it's still looking pretty nice and has all the good gameplay in it. I've played the original a year ago and it still rocks.

the vizier's dialogue in the original is better, why did they change it? they also removed the part where vizier almost got the dagger but the prince grabbed it when he was flying away, I thought that was neat.

Because It is leagues worse than what Ubisoft should be capable of in 2020. It wouldn't be a problem if this was 2010, and made by an indie studio. Even the animations look like they were given minimal effort. It's clear they didn't put any budget in this...

In the original, they felt like sand zombies, beings that got corrupted and filled with sand. Creatures that got cursed into a state of life and death by time itself. Now they look like sand people made entirely of sand from a beach modeling contest that are bored with their own existence.

This is not a remake... nothing is changed just graphics... game needs a complete overhaul to be more modern have they learned nothing from Assassins creed... just remake this game in that engine... and give it similar combat... other than that keep the game the same... with updated visuals... but thats quite a dream.. really... they will reboot this franchise before they do the right thing... just remake the sands of time trilogy.. and they got gold... warrior within and two thrones was excellent games.. just need to be modernized combat wise.. visually ect... new engine.

The remake doesn't look like the best game ever made but it clearly has improved graphics, and when they aim for having a clean framerate+awesome game play then this remake should be great.
Like for all people here saying the original looks better, you may like the style more but the graphic quality is way better in the remake.
Having improved graphics isn't all that great considering the original had cutting edge graphics for its time period and the remake looks like it was in 2006.

When I heard they gave it to Ubisoft India I knew they cocked it. They gave a really great IP to a new studio, what did you expect? Says alot about their priorities and "love" for this game.

Ubisoft should have focused on remastering the trilogy properly. Giving them a 1-2 year period where they can focus on it and then sell it as a bundle on the current gen consoles instead of focusing on assassin's creed. I love AC but I love pop more
I see A LOT of people are confused and angry about the remake graphics but just to clarify, The art team did NOT want to make this game too HD. They preferred a more original approach with adjustments of course. The gameplay is also the exact same. They're is NO new levels or enemies.
first ever prins of persia i played was warrior within, it was a disk demo from a gaming magazine. second one i played was two thrones, i rented it from a gamestore as a kid, i never got past that giant in the arena :''p. but i'm deefinitely buying this one, the vibes i'm getting is crazy!.

I want to give my point here since I’ve grown up with this franchise and I love the trilogy to death. This is a cash grab through and through. Ubisoft has been sinking for years along EA and 2K with the shit they’re pulling and I want to see the day they all go away. Prince of Persia is a franchise that put Ubisoft on a pedestal with its gameplay, story, soundtracks, writing and now this remake (not the right term but oh well) is so wrong on so many levels. Voice acting is pretty bad (except for Yuri but he is just an amazing talent), the art style is also not right for the story and the setting of the game. The original had charm, the environment felt alive but mysterious, soundtrack was great and fits so well. To give this to a newbie studio is just a setup for failure and Ubisoft did it on purpose I feel like. Don’t fall for this obvious trap. I love the trilogy with all my hear and seeing this breaks it in pieces. I never felt more disappointed in my life after waiting for years for a remaster (after the horrible ps3 one that was pure shit)

I don't know why everyone keeps shitting on the graphics. I mean, not EVERY game without a cartoonish art style needs to be hyper-realistic, geez. I, for one, prefer the slightly less hyper-accuracy of the graphics. I AM, however, disappointed by the design of the sand monsters. In the original, they actually looked like warped monsters. Now, they just look like sandy humans. I'll still give the game a shot, though.
