- League of Legends own pop star was a really fun one. We got to listen to original music for a fictional character in a Moba game and that blows my mind. Seraphines lore will most likely get re-done when Skarners rework releases because his lore will no longer focus on the hextech crystals

this was the removed voiceline mentioned earlier that gave people the wrong idea of her lore
people interpreted it as seraphine knowing hextech comes from the brackern and she just isn't telling anyone so she's evil... or something
she doesn't actually know what the voice from the hextech crystal is, she just hears it
as for the long voicelines at the end, those are just referencing a variety of things. KDA seraphine used to have a twitter account, i know some of them reference stuff she's written in her journal, some to real life poets ("just like maya and the tides, still i rise"), some to KDA, and she even has one referencing lexi liu, who is seraphine's singing voice in the MORE K/DA song :D

The KDA skins belong to the same "skin" it evolves as you you it and you unlock the tiers, Indie, Rising Star and SuperStar then you can pick which one you wanna use but they all come as one skin
36:00 These songs, and that album cover, all stem from the Seraphine who was active on Twitter at the time. When that champion was coming up to release, Riot had an account for her was before, and someone was posting and reacting as an actual person. The songs aren't in-game Sera, but the songtress we could chat with. A lot if mental gymnastics, but I liked it at the time. It was fun, and the character is truly adorable and sweet.

Legends of Runeterra saved Seraphine in my eyes. I really didn't care for her before, but the slight redesign she gets in LoR, and the fact we see her out of her stage persona really makes her fit the world much more.
The fact that she makes her own instruments aka her weapon of choice as a popstar also makes her more involved. She has something tangible as a representation of what she fights for.
I remember when she was released and majority of player base hated her so much (including me) - she felt like forced into the game and didnt fit lore wise and appearance. But one year ago I somehow became Seraphine one trick, also Legends of Runeterra fixed her lore and overall feel.
Kinda sad you skiped her main theme in this reaction - she has actualy one of the best themes of all champions.
Im positive her Star Guardian is straight up sailor moon inspired character, specifically Sailor Venus.
The "such a perfect 4/4 but also so wrong" is in reference to Jhin's arithmomania aka obsession with the number 4 (which is detailed more in his colour story *cough* *cough* )
When Wild Rift Beta was released, I used her a lot to climb through rank games, mid or support.
That's also the time when they hated her so much ignoring her kit 🤣🤣🤣
Right now hextech crystals are basically the hearts of the brackern. The brackern hearts are also passed down to children so 1 crystal has the thoughts and memories of many brackern. Skarner is the last living brackern thats trying to get the hearts of his people back, but yea theyre planning on reworking skarner lore so this will be out of date soon hopefully (justice for our sad man).
On release people thought sera was just another sona or the rework sona was supposed to get. Sona is still played more but sera has her place just not as common.
The all out skins are actually 1 skin. If you have the legendary skin you can choose which one of the 3 to start with but since it was her first skin released people felt the special treatment she got by releasing with 3 skins.
Those voicelines that were pulled were vague and kinda pushed the narrative that sera was supporting the enslavement of the brackern. "I miss your kind too skarner" the first one you heard people took as her being able to talk and understand the brackern but doing absolutely nothing to help them. Since her board she stands on is powered by hextech it seemed she was saying she wanted to help, but not wanting to since she benefits from hextech. Which was yet another thing the made people hate sera since skarner is a pretty loved champion even tho he doesnt have much lore.
Neeko is a wild bubbly happy champion thats basically a chameleon so color fits her well.
Leading up to and slightly after seras release riot made a twitter for seraphome to "talk" to her fans. This was just seen as a corporate play and viewed as very cringe so was shutdown kinda quick. A lot of people thought sera was just a corporate champion, one meant solely to make money for riot not meant to do anything else.
Her legendary skin on release, how she seemed to be created to join kda, the twitter account, sera being another sona, and lore being very weirdly placed at the time and seeming hostile to the brackern made sera the worst recieved champion release. She was just made a meme of the community as someone who does nothing for league which has slightly changed since.
Also the only champs that cant talk are bard and reksai.

i’m glad you like her, people have had a lot of bad opinions about her because of her release and it kinda stick around :(
i just clicked on the video so i'm commenting without watching.
Because of the League of Legends Lore revamp, Skarner's rework, and the hextech technology update, Seraphine will be affected in the process. Her story currently is very bad and hopefully this lore revamp will help her a lot.
A lot of the reason people hate her story is because she's suppose to have great impact on the piltover and zaun conflict but she doesn't, she sings to unite people but obviously not doing that great. Another important reason is that she can hear the braken? the hextech crystals which are used to power up a lot of the technology around the city. This information should make her very relevant to the universe, yet it doesnt. She doesn't really do much with her gifts other than sing to try and calm things down between the 2 cities.
She has a lot of potential and the character is supposedly super kind but there wasnt much done with that. There is much more to kindness than feel bad for people in poor situations. I really hope riot can save this champion because i really like how much potential her story could have.

riot added Seraphine's dad as a card in runeterra soon after her release, unfortunate their interactions didnt make it into the skinspotlights video.
Her joke response "Tell it again. You really oughta give comedy a go" Could be her genuinely laughing at a joke but also indirectly insulting them by calling them a clown.
When she was releasing in the game everybody hated her for more than one reason

Seraphines songs are actually not in game, they were promotional songs released on spotify, they made her a twitter account and didnt reveal it was linked to league until people guessed it, she started climbing the charts randomly and people were wondering if it was an ai artist or what.
Well technically her songs are in the game in "some ways". Her default passive song is her champion theme, her Indie's form passive is the instrumental of her cover of POP/STARS, Rising Star is the instrumental of Made Me This Way and Superstar is the instrumental of More. They are just not the full songs.

she sounds annoying and released as a skin with an ultimate skin that did not fit the game. Had a twitter account based release. It was highly disliked by everyone. She was a cashgrab and her skills were way too similar to sona

seraphines story is one that has already become not canon bc of the skarner update, and riots new lore thing..still a good read though
SeraQueen main here and indeed she is fun to play. Most of the guys in the League community just hate her because she’s too “girly” and can’t accept her femininity in a male-dominated industry / community.
EDIT: But yeah, her voicelines in her default skin… is umm… yeah… not the best but not the worst.

The hextech crystals were essentially the soul of Skarner's species, with full sentience of their surrounds and being used to power Piltover technology.
Seraphine was released acknowledging that and doing nothing about it, also, she had theses quotes telling Caitlyn her gun liked her (The Bracker liked being slaved and used as energy?) and the "All I can do is sing the Brackers song" quote, what about telling everyone their energy is powered by living souls of rational beings?

Skarner's lore sucked. I am happy they are changing it. Seraphine can read emotions, not minds, and the idea of an inhuman species having inhuman feelings about their situation was apparently incomprehensible to fans.

@Levidsum Brackern being fine with thier existence as hexcrystals makes sense as a revelation to me. It means they aren't in danger from the process. A weird spiritual species that chose to hibernate for centuries could conceivably be nonplussed by being moved.

Seraphine is a hated champion by the players. Why? Very bad marketing, and her abilities are basically Sona's abilities with some changes here and there.
Riot said they want only a max of 2-3 new league characters in Arcane 2. In my opinion the options are: Renata Glasc, Urgot, Jhin, Camille, Warwick, Twitch, LeBlanc and Darius. You reacted all of them except Darius (a future reaction option?).
This years' Worlds final is coming on Nov 19 if you want to watch it.
From riot: "Full Relaunch for Skarner in early 2024.", which means complete rework. Does that mean story rework too? No one knows, but I would suspect they will rewrite the story too because riot said everything becomes cannon in lore, and there are lore conflicts between universes.

Whatever you do please do not listen to the argument that seraphine and sona are copies i’m a Seraphine main 1 million mastery and seraphine and sona have NOTHING in common other than them being music oriented champions, they have very different play styles about 7 other female champions apply movement speed with shields you clearly haven’t touched seraphine a day in your life cause if you did you’d know they play nothing alike.

Seraphine Q: hp damage, upgrade: 2x damage
Sona Q: damage, upgrade: damage boost for allies
(hp damage: deals damage based on enemy health points)
Seraphine W: aoe shield, movement speed for allies, upgrade: aoe heal
Sona W: aoe heal, upgrade: aoe shield
(aoe: area of effect)
Seraphine E: slow, upgrade: root/stun
Sona E: slow, movement speed for self, upgrade: movement speed for allies
(root: you can't move; stun: you can't do anything)
Seraphine R: high range sound wave that slows/roots/stuns
Sona R: middle range sound wave that stuns
So how are they not the same? Yes, they have differences here and there, but overall their abilities are the same, in my opinion.
Please don't get it as an insult or attack, I know how league players think, I'm one of them sadly. Anyway, I have nothing against you or Seraphine, I just think riot should have made the obvious not so obvious.
Change my mind if you want, I'm always trying to be open minded, but this is just how I see it.
@@chollynn lol the nearest gameplay for seraphine was literally lux or neeko and the ult for nami like not because shes a music theme champ its also the same as sona besides sona was an enchanter and the only skill that need to use was her ult sona all abilities was literally i tap and boom you full health while sera literally need another shield to get that nasty heal maybe try karma for example theres a lot of champions so dont try to put the sona 2.0 again because its been 3 years and you all still cant get over and over the fact that it's been so long that sona and seraphine are different

Made Me This Way is a atraight up banger
Seraphine has a bad reputation, but she does fill an important niche in the lore. No other champion wants to unite Piltover and Zaun. She represents the Flower Power movement, an actual pacifist anti war movement in American history. She may be naive, but she is a unique and worthy addition to the setting, and has a purpose.
