  • Thanks for checking out my reaction to Hwei. I feel like Hwei needs a big hug! AI'll be interested to see more interactions between him and Jhin in the future as their seems to be something going on. I also hope he stays on the 'light' side but seems like he could go down a villain path in the future.

    A lot of the information in the trivia is from an AMA on reddit, the writters answered a lot on questions about Hwei and Jhin as a combo a lot of the time.
    Edit: and the thing Hwei said in the short story actually happend, he is being traveling in Ionia and giving bad visions to bad guys and good visions to the good wile looking for Jhin-

    Just saying, Hwei's voicelines did not have to come out swinging like that, I do love them but damn some of them do physically hit you in the face sometimes ;w;

    The "dark path" is if Jhin is your Team in the game, the ligth side is if jhin is in the enemy team instead-
    league also bring back a in game mechanic where champions that are rivals in lore can win a small buff if defeat each other in a game.
    If both of them reach lvl 12, the quest will be active.
    If Hwei kills Jhin with his ultimate, he will get 3,33% Magic Pen.
    If Jhin kills Hwei with his ultimate, he will get 4,444% Lethality.

      To my understanding the dark and light paths happen at chance

    Regarding design and lore: I'm a sucker for every art form, be it music, paint, films, videos, or any simple human creation, so I was very intriged by his personality, design and lore when he was released. I guess they hit the right notes when creating a lost artist and a lost human soul on it's own contradictions and many ideas with Hwei. He embodies the true nature of art, I believe, which is often complex and chaotic, not evil or good, not black or white, just a bunch of complex elements in a complex and unique world. His lore is pretty interesting and adds deepth to Jhin who I consider to also be an interesting and complex champion. His whole debate about dark and light relating to what Jhin showed him with that massacre is very very interesting and leaves you to think which path will he eventually choose.
    Skins and your question about future skins themathic he will fit: His base skin is amazing, pretty colorful yet dark, an interesting contrast. Abilities are super fun and easy to spot, each color resembles the emotion of the abilities to the perfection. Red and orange for destruction and passion, blue and yellow for protection, sadness, peace and empathy, violet for fear, darkness and anger. His release skin, which was the winterfest one seems kinda not in theme with his whole persona or champion design. Either way, it's an amazing skin and very well designed. As for what skin theme he should fit I was thinking Ink Shadow, because of the whole painting and artist thing. Also Debonair, because he has a certain elegance to him. And lastly I would love to see him in PsyOps, the amount of cool things you could imagine with him and this skin line are incredible, just imagine an artist with Psy powers that can paint with his mind or technology.
    Regarding gameplay: I've been maining him in support playing him as a pure damage mage, he feels super fun, has lots of combos and tools which a lot of damage supports lacks (Think Lux, Brand, Senna, Zyra, Swain, Xerath.) Hwei is all mages in one, which makes him super fun to play and he also feels really "fluid" in his gameplay.
    Regarding voicelines: While playing him you may feel very deep emotions or his own voicelines can sometimes amplify your rage, lol. Or your compassion and kindness. Sometimes I find myself lost in his words and that line about life being valued and not wasting time always hits. He for sure makes you feel things while playing him even tho your focused on the match. I've experienced this feeling only with him, which is pretty interesting. Props to the voice actor for the amazing delivery of each line and for the writers.
    Also, love your videos and your channel! Keep doing what you do!
    And if someone at Riot sees this, AMAZING JOB. This champion is extraordinary and wonderful.

    I love that youre so passionately looking at everything available! Love to see more! And as an artist myself, hwei rlly has grown on me alot! And if you know how to play him well, he's absolutely broken in the sense of really strong.
    I also would love to see you react to Rakan and Xayah! They have amazing Voicelines and a really interesting story! As a Rakan main, I gotta promote my best guy😭

    26:30 as someone who is more of a "the more skills the better" kind of person, I love him, also its a male, also a mage... also he is painting.. what can't i like. His music theme is gorgeous. Havent been so excited about a release since Aurelion Sol
    I think he was "broken" in the sense of ppl didnt rly know how to play him nor how to play against him (or didnt bother reading all the abilities), but he was broken on PBE not due to his fault, but because the new/changed mage items were broken(op) af
    1:03:25 def. one of the best champions made, as everything down to numbers and names and colors and shapes, everything seems to have meaning when it comes to him. Tho i am not rly into green/teal colors, but thats an easy fix with the pretty winter blessed skin. Hopefully we will get a starguardian, dragonscale, bloodmoon and Cosmic skin~ that would be awsome. I can also see him having potential for the Project skin line
    and as Riot mentioned in the announcement video, he has been the first male-"just human" mage in a long time. I believe since Lux... xD'

    it looks like a lot but once you get the in the flow of things you do get to undestand his skills better, to the point you just EQ fast to fear engagers, or QW for that long range snipe, he isnt as complex.
    his damage is very good for an immobile champion, even as support his poke is no joke

  • @ItsMeSnoops

    I alot of people will say he's broken and overpowered, although as a more competitive player, when he first officially released, he had a super low win% in his games. At the rank of Emerald+ (which is the 6th rank in order from the lowest), he had at one point a whopping 28% winrate (slowly increasing at this point as now it is still the lowest out of all mid lane champions but just under 40%) as a mid lane champion and not much better as a Support (The lowest in Support with only 37% as of typing this comment). This was of course due to how many skills he has. There's way too many abilities to figure out the proper combos right away. When he was absolutely destroying lobbies in the test servers, the game was much different because of the test server running the 2024 updates for the map and items. I guarantee that Hwei will unlock his true potential in 2024 with the season update and the new items.

    Lot's of people were calling him mage Aphelios, for how his kit works. He's got the 10 spells, so it's not quite as complicated, but he's a pretty good all-round utility mage with a lot of damage potential. Definitively a glass cannon.
    In his theme, I'm fairly certain those somber bits with the strings, and the cello in particular, are meant to represent Jhin. As for skins, I'm optimistic for a star guardian skin, since I think it'd suit his palette well. Maybe also something radiant/divine, since the ink behind him also kind of looks like a halo.

    Syndra is coming to Wild Rift at the end of January 2024! She may come with a cinematic and updated art, so there will be more content for you to react by then.

    He has a lot of options but none of his options are stronger than the other champs that focus on those techniques and his damage output requires combos to be on par with other mage, you spam abilities and always use the best ability for the situation to be optimal while also making sure to keep up your mana because he runs out quickly.
    His abilities aren't all that complicated, and similar moving and shaped abilities are all on the same hotkey. 95% you'll be using W for WE to get mana back for free. So all you actually have to remember is Q-Red is Damage, E-Purple is CC, and then every 2nd Q is a direct bolt, W is a ranged circle, and E is floor based AOE rectangle.
    All his abilities including ult are just big dumb skill shots that don't actually mix or change effects depending on the combos you use, so all you need to think about at any given moment is what Range do I need? what CC is most effective? and AOE vs Single Target. Once you do you can just spam that combo over and over, because the best and only combo on Hwei is the one you can hit.

    Finally, my twink mage!
    And just like every artist we have art supplies and pain UwU
    But it did make me happy to see this in my subscriptions! ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
    (You may have missed his one and only joke voiceline btw XD)
    Jhin is also one of the few (if not the only one) champs who shares the same amount of massive trivia as Hwei,
    he is also known to use paint magic, at least a form of it (see the zed comics for further details lol)
    So obviously they're boyfriends UwU

      I know these are jokes and all but it's kinda scary how a lot of people who don't read lore really take them serious that all there is to Hwei. The community watered down his initial design and complex personality/background to just a twink or queensofleague representation while the man is traumatized af but people on Twitter still shipping him with his very abuser 😅

    • @Hexaphobia
      @Hexaphobia 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThiccChoncc yeah I know, riot even made the effort of giving him a colour story (in comparison to Briar) yet his overall character got glanced over by the majority ;w;
      I've always loved Jhin's story and concept overall and wish they'd expand more on it, I'm holding my breath Hwei might push them to do so since as both an artist and teater kid myself I felt they had such a perfect concept and premise around Jhin but never did anything with it except his short story ;w;

  • @parrycarry
    @parrycarry 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    After playing him a bit, he's really not as complicated as he seems. He's complex, but extremely straight forward, unlike Aphelios, who is both complex and complicated, due to needing to know which weapon comes next and ammo management.

    He's broken as in ridiculous damage and a lot of potential to carry games. Also the path stuff is indeed random, the devs mentioned that recently. I love his character design and the theme of his character. His voice actor killed it though and the lines were great!
