Plus, with such an already hateful side, it was a free slot that I could've thrown anything in (that wouldn't have made a difference in any of my games).
I am building a Magician of Black Chaos deck. Using older spellcasters. Would you say you say put equip cards in it? What else would you say would help?
@DragonDuelistGirl yeahh lol, unless they MST 1 Backrow possibly. I've been doing well with it. I'm about 12-2. It's crazy IMO. You can get bad hands though. It has the fast plays like FrogFTK, but it has the Synchro capabilities of Infernity. I guess we'll see. and wow, I never knew that. That's a really nice idea, besides the fact that PoC doesn't become a water monster so it'd be harder to synch with but yeah I see what you mean.
You deserved top 4 playing almost every top deck! Perfect example of a duelist with game play knowledge taking a forgotten theme and winning. Anyone can take GKs or sabers and do well. Top finishers have to be good with their sideboard like you are to make a deck people want to start copying.
@MrAfroMonkee I had a Zero matchup late tourney, LaDD and Prime locked him down easily... my deck's mechanics are nearly a response to that deck. I used to side Super Poly against them, and brought out my own Absolute for the lulz. But I took that out and sided for harder matchups. A universal way to get around Absolute is by destroying him while he's face down, he only resolves if he left the field while face-up.
@weswes246 Been there, done that. However Duality is not supposed to entirely replace Sarco right now. Dragons have ONE trump, one very important card that is even more important to pull off, and Sarco can indefinitely gets setup while you wall with floaters. PoD's also a superb dead draw if you already started a swarm. Running staples instead of Duality has proven more useful to me. I'm planning on dropping them for the T6S sausagefest weeks, since it's just way too freaking slow for them.
@xai65 Tried it, worked out terribly lol D; Burst Breath is best kept at 1 with this sort of monster lineup. Most of the time it's a -1, you have to activate it at the right time for it to be a 2 for 2 or a plus. I also don't always have to monster fodder to spare. Trap Hole is an indefinite 1 for 1, sometimes more if it's a Synchro.
@whateley It's not that they can't do well, it's more like people stopped playing them just because they aren't utterly broken auto-pilot anymore now that Cat is gone. Any good player behind a Saber deck can wreck me. Like I said, just wanted to cover all the potential matchups at the event.

@xclown6 No. BW's have hundreds of ways to circumvent Drago- Icarus, Sirroco, Kalut, and standard back row. All Drago is to them is a 1900 beater. There's better potential resources for those slots. I side Drago against Narchs (to stop Faders and Gorz drops for game), Infernities (stops everything), Chaos(all Light/Dark SS-oriented), and Herald, which Drago completely shuts down.
I have to ask, what does a Dragon Deck do vs cards like Spirit Reaper etc? It just seems like they stop the deck completely other than the odd play or 2(like Exploder Dragonwing?).
to play this deck this long and top consistently is awesome this deck needs to see more play as the speed of the deck is fast and yet controlled. Very nice deck. Didn't see last monster though.
@whateley The mechanics of sabers works like Dragons, but more impressively. They have better floaters and can swarm faster (and more fearsomely with Cold Wave). If I can't get LaDD out early to mute their Darksouls and Emmeresblades, it screams trouble for me later game. I threw that E Call in last minute for Regionals only, it's good to cover the standards at least a bit, it could mean winning the duel for you in the end.
I have a question If my ladd is attacking a fullhelmknight, and fullhelm night negates the attack, ladd has to respond with its effect and negate again. will his loop untill ladd is at 800?

I love playing the underdog decks. I wouldn't feel very accomplished Topping with a Tier 1... it would just mean I'm doing what Tier 1 is supposed to do. Top. And if I did badly with it, I'd just feel plain stupid. Baha.
hi, i was reading the rulings for ladd and it saids cards activated from the hand are negated but return to the hand. so if my opponent were to play dark hole and i negate it with ladd can he play it again the same turn from his hand over and over again?

How is it unstoppable?? With gateway all you can do is use MST, with Future Fusion, if you MST when it's activated, they wont send any cards. Also FuFu can be warninged, gateway cant.

Giant Trunade would accomplish the same thing as Heavy Storm about 80% of the times, since only Stun decks and possibly Dinos and Heroes run Starlight Road. After a Heavy Storm is played, there is still a chance to get Inzektor OTK'ed, Wind-Up looped or even Chaos Dragon OTK'ed, Giant Trunade would usually accomplish the same thing.When I said Trunade is banned due to Dragons, I meant THIS format, Trunade+Future in Choas Dragons, is too broke
@regaldrifter Yeah, same for me. I had a lot of hope for them but it just didn't work out. Trap Stun, Seven Tools and Magic Drain are better candidates for the slots. I've also found that a single copy of Duality is great for setup, but no more than that since we do tend to special summon outside of setting Totem and Masked.
