I've grown up quite a bit since first discovering this beat tape, but it always brings me back to a simpler time when I was figuring life out. I used to listen to this in my shitty little apartment i had with my mom and tinker around with music a lot. i'd stay up late, have a few glasses of whiskey and unwind to this. it's all bittersweet, I miss the times that this beat tape reminds me of but I don't at the same time. funny how life works. one thing in life is sure, and it's that time will keep marching regardless of how you feel. it marches so slowly that you don't even realize the distance it's gone until you hear something like this that you used to love and it suddenly makes you aware of how 'far away' those times were. you ask yourself "how'd this happen?" and "wow, why am I so different now?" then slowly realize it was the cruel, slow march of time that brought you here.
Forgot the exact video, but I saw a comment saying something like "You people have to be high to enjoy this music" and all the replies were something along the lines of "smoking a blunt rn" and that just made my day.
I love drawing but haven't been able to create anything for the last months. After certain life events the inspiration and motivation just dissapeared.But this thumbnail is just kicking something up inside me man, I have to get back at it. Stzzy, can I maybe make something for your next thumbnail? If you don't like it, don't use it -- but I am certain creating something for you is gonna help me out real good.
