Call in show prior to every game: what’s Jared weighing in at today coach? The answer was always a cheeseburger below 300 pounds.
Didn’t matter what he weighed he was a monster on the field who the defense feared. Remember him on his KNEES at the 50 yard line banging balls off the crossbar in warmups.

If I could have liked more than once, I would have. For such a big guy, this man had a gift. It’s disappointing no one selected him. Who knows where he would have been if he got drafted. RIP Jared. His story will not be forgotten. :(

I've had to bury a lot of family members and friends which means I've carried a lot of caskets to their final resting places and something that always helped me get through the pain was thinking about the bigger guys looking down from heaven and laughing hysterically at us trying to carry their oversized caskets. Hope the Hefty Lefty is throwing em deep in heaven. RIP

I remember loving to see Hefty jog out to the huddle. A hero and Idol to boys and girls who think you have to have a perfect superman physique to accomplish your athletic goals.
Thank you Hefty. I'll tell my kids about you.
    RIP

Importing him into Madden from the NCAA game was so much fun, because he was bigger than most linemen, but as nimble as a cat. He was one of my all time favorite players to watch. My friends dad used to call me “Lorenzo”, because I was a husky gentleman like Jared. He’s an inspiration to all of us Heavyweights. It’s a sad loss.

In 2011, I watched him with the River Monsters beat the Eastern Kentucky Drillers in Kentucky. He was the MVP of the UIFL that year and they also named him commissioner of the league after the season.

I'll never forget watching LSU VS Kentucky in 2002... When Kentucky took the field and I first saw Jared I thought "Damn he's huge" Biggest D1 QB I've ever seen!! But Homie could play!! He moved gracefully, he had a cannon left arm. He wasn't ordinary, and that's what stood out. When he got to the GIANTS I always rooted for him (When he wasn't playing the Cowboys) lol I saw his story last year on 3:60, and watched it several times. I was extremely proud of him for trying to get his weight and health back on track. He was definitely unique, and different... But he was good that's why he stood out. We'll probably never see another Jared, he was a once in a lifetime talent. I was truly saddened to hear of his passing, but rest assured he will NEVER be forgotten. Rest easy Jared, you're at peace BIG Fella... Plenty of people loved you
    Always and Forever,
    The Heft LEFTY 😭
