This elevator takes the H2389 key for fire service. It is specifically cut for Dover Elevators. However there are more than one Dover fire service key. H2389 - Fire Service H2252 - Fire Service, Platform Lift
gonna be amazing to see that baby running again. i love old elevators that get restored instead of modernraped... worst is they are more broken then their old ripped up sibblings!!
Dovers were good till about the mid 90s, and now even worse since Tyssen Krupp took them over. Otis is my favorite elevator brand, then Westinghouse, montgomery, and us elevstor. I like otis tbe best because the were basically the inventor of the elevstor, and escalator.
One of those controller cards you picked up has the code "2697", which might be referring to Week 26 1997 (using a typical electronics date code) for that particular year of manufacture for that PCB. Doesn't particularly mean much, because it looks like there's controller cards older than it, but I suppose if anything it indicates that around 1997 or so it may have been serviced with new parts.
Do they use 600volt 3 phase in the US? When I worked at an Imax the 2 projectors (left and right eye) for 3D ran on two Miller arc welder power supplies for the two 7 kilowatt xenon bulbs. Sooo bright omg. They were on a 600volt pannel
USA used 480 volt three phase in buildings over maybe 10'000 square feet. Canada used 575 volts. About ten years ago while at a continuing education class they said USA was looking into allowing 575 volts three phase to save money on wires.
I imagine the government/city is where this project could turn into a huge money pit as they'll probably require you rip everything out and put something new that has to meet all sorts of new standards etc. It's too bad though as it would be cool to try to get that old one going.
My apartment building has an elevator from the 1960s that runs on relay logic, and its still kicking. I'm sure it varies by the state legislature, but the owners of this building were somehow allowed to keep this ancient thing installed!
@@henryoppenheimer A lot of old elevators even from a century ago are still running places according to the TH-cam channel DieselDucy who films vintage elevators. Some of the relay logic ones still work fine.
did you ever get this running they usaly land the car like yours is for a saftey reason and to stop those who get in the building from messing with it and getting hurt or killed
I like the videos. However, I think you’re nuts. Just getting that elevator working is going to cost near $100k is my guess. You’re going to go BROKE very fast.
That place is probably COVERED and held together by asbestos. My local hospital has older sections but they’ve tested every single room and labelled every door frame. Have a question? The pro is on site to identify and holy do they ever take precautions. Makes the job take 10x the time but what are you going to do? I’m not touching it! Lol
beutiful elevator. excited to see it working again
Hopefully you can get this thing working like you did with that antique Otis at that other abandoned hospital you guys did a few years ago

Newer isn’t always better, that’s for sure.
those old circuits just make sense. so simple. love that old oil can
You should get Otis to get that thing up and running again. Plus Otis does a really good job if you want it modernized.
this is actually super cool! I love stuff like this!!!
Dovers were the best build hydros, that’s what Dover pioneered in the 50s. My favorite brand it Dover too, would be amazing to see her run again.

@@seangriffon6502 Tyssen krupp is one of the worst brands for elevators
No wonder the alarm bells on the older elevators were so loud, it’s inside the panel not on the car top.

Dover Elevators were bought out by ThyssenKrupp and now goes by the name TK Elevator.
good video nice to see ya unloading again
This answered my question about that elevator 👍👍👍😎☕
What are you gonna do with the building?
How much did you buy the building for?
Are you ever going to revisit that beautiful 1940s Otis elevator at the other abandoned psych ward?
FYI I just went through a Dover elevator upgrade. It was almost $100k to bring up to code.
Ha ha. Wow. It sure ain't cheap, is it.
How many elevators do you have
1:05 the modern bike lock?

480V 3 phase delta for most industrial service.

This is cool but would have loved it in landscape
The breaker cant be far from it ?

So it was working 3 years ago in a video but now broken sad to see that
Different building
How many elevators do you have weres the one from 5 years ago
The Otis one is in an other abandoned hospital, not in this one.

ya cant turn a monitor to portrait mode 😭
well yes, you, as a viewer, can, physically, or in your software/settings; but yes, landscape filming would be preferable
Name it Ben
Does this former psych ward have a large trash compactor?
Fix it
They got it running, look at recent videos
Be careful of asbestos
