Nice boys, welcome back Mr Blake. Got to admit I do worry about locations being overrun by people looking for Instagram pictures. I recently had that happen to me down Phillip Island way. You guys would have experienced it at the some apostles with your last tour. Keep up the good work boys.
Hi Gents, 👍😊 Great discussion! Apologies for the lack of beer this week, somehow life got in the way and I missed doing that... 😣 Brendz, I'm sure you will enjoy the visit to Peterborough. It's a location I got to a couple of years back on my own journey along the Great Ocean Road. Very enjoyable! Thank you Gents! 👍😊
1/400 of a second was fine for mamiya. I took an Okako Waltax junior folding camera on holiday with a max shutter speed of 1/150, you can do it. At f/16 you should be fine shooting up to ISO 400, and with black and white or portra 800 you should be right for that too.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks the Pentax 17 looks ugly 😂 Seriously, I hope it is a success - initial response has been good - but I wonder if it will long term. I don’t think the price is unreasonable given the features and the sheer effort required to make something like this in 2025, but I do wonder if they got the balance of features right? Really seems like they could/should have either added AF even if it cost a bit more, or left out a few things like exposure compensation and all the program modes and dropped the price to a more accessible level. While it is unfair to judge a brand new camera price wise against the used market, the problem is Pentax still have to compete with that market. Yes, a new camera won’t have the same issues (presumably) as something 50 years old… but think about all the great old cameras you can get, fully CLA’d, for US$500, better made, better looking.

You would never finish shooting at The Bay of Fires
