    A general comment. I love your teaching technique. You speak very clearly. My suggestion again and I know I mentioned it before is if you try to stand off to the right or left of the whiteboard.

    Great to stumble upon your tutorials. Excellent work and pronunciation. One suggestion and I don't know if you're still actively teaching, is to write the Thai Script as we go. Show us where to start and finish each letter.

    Thank you for the help and for teaching thai alphabets! Very informative. Much easier to follow than other videos. Thank you so much. One tip though, try to not sway or dance too much.

    Finally! Thanks so much. Can you make videos on how to read tones without RTGS? Im having difficulties memorizing all the complex rules.

    • @davevoetberg
      @davevoetberg  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Johnlong cendana teh You're welcome. I'm sorry what's RTGS?

    • @johnheng1040
      @johnheng1040 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      dave voetberg Royal Thai General System of Transcription (RTGS).
      ขอโทษค่ะ
      khǎaw-thôot khâ.
      Im only aware of the pronunciation through listening and the tone marks given (khǎaw-thôot khâ)
      Is there an easy way to memorize tone patterns?

    For me what is difficult is if I don’t learn a word by heart, I struggle to remember if a word with a « s » sound is written with a ส ศ ษ or ซ lol if there any tip to that ? or we have no choice to learn the word spelling by heart ?

  • @noimoi9422
    @noimoi9422 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello Dave. I'm a complete beginner and one question that I have is that other than the first part is the second part of each letter really important? I watched your other video which said that the rule is similar to B BALL doesnt that mean only the B which means the first part of the letter is important? Or is the second part important in learning the alphabet?

    • @davevoetberg
      @davevoetberg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Noi Moi It's helpful for memorizing the alphabet but the first part is what's important for learning to read. The first part is essential, but the second part is not essential for learning how to read.

    • @noimoi9422
      @noimoi9422 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davevoetberg thank you so much! I have been looking every where for an answer but couldnt find it anywhere. I want to take this slowly. I'm gonna learn to read then memorise the alphabet, if that makes sense hahah.

    • @davevoetberg
      @davevoetberg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Noi Moi Sounds good. Take your time. Get things down really well. No need to rush on ahead if you're not understanding it well. Lay a solid foundaton for yourself.

    You actually didn't talk about the last letter in the second row at all, the third letter S, you just skipped over it completely.

    why does thai have so many alphabets? like my language nepali had 36 consonants and 12 vowels and i thought thats a lot. And then this appears out of nowhere and i'm like dumbfounded and intimidated . How am i ever gonna learn all of this . and why do they need 5 alphabets with the same sound and not ony for one but many? i'm done

    • @yimyam3923
      @yimyam3923 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you say Thai have a lot then try Chinese 🤣🤣🤣they have more than 10000 characters. If we talk abot Thai why have many alphabets, because we have many words from Pali-Sansakrit and then we have to create new alphabets to pronounce Pali-Sansakrit words
