    Retired to the farm now. Drove otr for 46 years. My truck is Retired as well.
    It's a 03 379 c 16 18 sp 285wb stand up.
    Put farm tags on it and me 53 drop. Haul alittle hay from time to time or farm stuff close to home.
    Just can't seen to part ways with the old girl.

    11 years old? It’s an ‘04. This must be an older video. Beautiful truck, Dave, inside and out. I always appreciated the 379, it’s a piece of trucking nostalgia without a doubt. You gave me yet another reason to detest super singles. I didn’t know that if you blew one you’d end up needing a new wheel as well. No thanks! Hang on to that thing.

    Good looking truck.... Hard to let a beauty like that go. It's like a dog you've owned since it was a pup, that's well aged, you don't want your heart to be broken, when that time does come, to separate ways. 🤔🤫😇🙏💖

    Hey there Folks. Thanks for dropping by to catch today's upload. Any thoughts about my truck? I get so close to selling it, but then end up changing my mind. Seems like such a shame to let it sit, but it's hard to let go! Any thoughts? Love to hear 'em.

      I'd say keep it at this point if you didn't sell it at the peak of covid when trucks were super expensive you could get a good amount now but it's not really worth it I don't think

    I turned away from Paccar years ago. Love the old Pete corvette dash.
    Only problem with an older truck, is the companies dont like them. They want you in debt, so you cant pull up stakes & leave them.
    I still have my 96 Heritage Star car, thatll still run circles around most

    The truck is absolutely impressive. It's in great condition for all the miles. 😀👍
    The one thing I don't understand about our American colleagues is why you have so few headlights on your trucks? You can drive faster than we do here in Germany, and you can also drive longer distances without traffic. Here it's normal for everyone to have 6-8 additional headlights, usually LED. 🤨

    The higher of clearance also means more drag, which causes worse fuel mileage. I’ve never had a transmission or rear end overheat. You must have the caterpillar ACERT engine. I remember back in the day you did not run a cat below 1500 RPM and you usually shifted it around 18 to 2000.

    Oh that’s a good old pre emission Cat C15. But your 11R24.5 rubber means there’s little demand for the casings. I didn’t realize that 7” exhausts run cooler. But that 280” wheelbase is far too long for me. I drove many cab overs and prefer them for the maneuverability.

    Wow she sure looks great, period, not to mention she's 24years old, California has gone off the rails, no more CATAPILLAR engines which I considered to be the best, engines on the market, David you're not alone I would never spec a truck out in today's world, unreliable with prices for a nice pete, or a kenworth with a long hood starting around 200,000- 250,000 DOLLARS, that's okay I'll keep running my older truck,

    Your Pete is a good looking truck. When you specked the truck, you said you didn't want the super singles. I myself wouldn't even consider the super singles because to me their just like putting steer tires on all ten wheels, it's fine if you don't mind paying for rims as well. To me that's wasted money. And I'm interested in money in the bank not in tires and rims..

  • @CamaroSS215
    @CamaroSS215 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just a question why didn’t you increase your hp to at lease 600 hp?

  • @hawkeyetec
    @hawkeyetec 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Going to super singles saved me 460 lbs.
    I have tire pressure monitoring and only gone through 1 rim.
    A premmision truck will allow a business to be financially sound.
    Emmission era trucks have improved marginally and will still bankrupt the owner due to no availability of diagnostics poor to no parts availability.
    Hopefully, the manufacturers will band together and let them know are going to put the nation into the dark ages..
    At this time, new glider trucks are not being produced.
    The industry needs to have reality introduced before it collapses. Really...
    Never sell that truck its durablity equals reliability. Ps. That truck has many milions of miles left.
    Keep it rolling...
