    Just as a heads up you can also have multiple copies of your MT4 terminal open at once. Need to install it (settings) with a suffix 1 at the end of the folder each time. You will also need to add in your advisors and indicators / position size calculator.

    That was really helpful. How do we link charts together in the same workspace without saving each individual workspace under a separate name? eg drop a different fx pair into one chart and the others all change to that same pair?

    What are the certain things you like in mt4?

    • @Duomoinitiative
      @Duomoinitiative  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On MT4 there seemed to be more ways of customising a terminal through the actual charts themselves, e.g. turning a chart into a dashboard that gives you analytics about your open positions etc. There are also a few proprietary indicators I like to glimpse at every now and then for insights, but don't use them to trade.

    Nice vid - Just a little tip for you: Save the 'usual' format under the name 'default' and it will auto format it for you when you open it. Is there a way to select any chart e.g. gbp/usd and it opens all the main 4 timeframes for that pair? Thanks in advance

    Anyone know how to set up mt4 to work on multiple monitors apart from simply stretching the window across?

    • @Duomoinitiative
      @Duomoinitiative  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just stretch the screens. I used to use a script which let you have individual charts, but you don't get the full metatrader functionality so it wasn't a good option.

      Just install 3 or 4 instances of MT4, you can log in all of them using the same credentials. Better than stretching one instance, also saves CPU power because divides the process between cores.

    how to copy my save templates in mt4 and copy to mt5?

  • @SkywalkFPV

    Hi everyone, I have this burning questions about MT5/4 trading platforms. I am using demo accounts to test strategies and not only backtest my ideas, but mostly testing the stabilty of this metatrader software and provided tools. Besides the occuring connectivity issues the servers sometimes have, I noticed the following few things that I don`t understand and like at all; why can I not place orders when a market is closed, this should definitley work, many big traders have there orders ready for when the market opens? And most annoying is why can I not place a sell limit lower than the current price action, I mean we need to plan ahead I imagine so exact market executions are not always what we are looking for? This same issue I have with setting buy limits, so weird.. Can someone please clarify how this platform could benefit trading, it`s the most akward observation I have so far. especially when we cannot automaticy set stop loss/profit, we for sure need to plan ahead.. especially when we cannot automaticy set stop loss/profit (without third party help) Anyone feel free to add..

      You can place buy stop, sell stop, buy stop limit and sell stop limit orders on MT5; but not on MT 4. Retail CFD traders can't place orders or change Tp/SL on open trades during off hours so this option isn't available for now

    Is the stock market the best market for beginner traders?and..do you trade commodities?

    • @Duomoinitiative
      @Duomoinitiative  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you trade individual stocks then it's much slower paced, so I can see why that would be more appealing to beginners, but if you're trading the index using something like CFDs, then there really isn't much difference between equities and any other market. Personally I prefer beginners to learn with forex, because there is no directional bias (it will go up as much as it will go down, since there are 2 assets in the pair), which means there are more opportunities available - so a beginner can learn quicker. It might be tougher, but the best way to learn is by practicing and being challenged - as long as it's with a demo account!
      Yes I trade commodities, I trade most markets, but my intra-day is mainly done on forex.

    Problem is that your EAs restart, or stop functioning altogether when you change profile! Can't afford that anytime of the trading week. So maybe it's better to do your analysis elsewhere--let's sah--on Trading View etc; and keep MT4 purely for trade executions. This also places the least burden on MT4 for processing and connectivity (ideally via VPN)
