I have the 12-60 Leica. Great lens for both color and sharpness. In january I got a second hand 14-140 and it has mostly replaced the 12-60 on my GX9.

Eli thank you for this review.
I own the PL 12-60mm lens and like using it. I purchased the P12-60mm kit lens with the GX9. I was going to sell this lens to lower the price for the GX9. Turns out I learned to like this leans. I have kept it and take it out all the time.
Can’t beat the focal lengths this lens offers. Small and light. As you say, it is very versatile. It has the OIS which can be converted to dual stabilization on LUMIX bodies. A lot to be said for that. It is sharp enough. Not fast but more than adequate for my street photography needs.
I didn’t want this lens. I have learned to like and then love this lens. If you are a M43 shooter, especially a LUMIX user, this is a must have lens.

Nice! Good to talk about this lens: people dump on kit lenses but this one and the 12-50 f/3.5-6.3 which I had are so usable. Re the alternatives you mention, I regularly use the 12-60 f/2.8-4 Pana Leica for work and it is great: clear sharp images and robust. Not super cheap alas.

Great review. I do like that you focused on what you could achieve with the lens rather than the specs.
Looking forward to the next video !

Nice review, thanks bud. Looking at picking one of these up for my GH5. They can be had pretty cheap second hand nowadays.

Have the PL 12-60mm I've taken some of my favourite street shots with that lens. If I ever upgraded it would be the Oly 12-100 F4...very pricey though. Btw the video looked really nice I've always liked the looked of the 25mm F1.7

Aye splash proof they say. Sounds like you put that lens to the test, as did I. Like youself caught in a bit of a heavy shower, a few days later started having aperture issues, which with time got worse, to the point the lens was unusable. I believe you got lucky. A painful lesson to learn, but learn it I did. I have mostly olympus gear now and most of it weather sealed. I treat the weather sealing as a last resort, I do all in my power to make sure the camera doesn't get wet. It's not worth the risk, and the older the camera gets the less weather sealed it will be.

Its really nice at parties. Easy to get a closeup and as well as a wide one. With the gx80 its quite discreet as well.

I've never had the opportunity to use it. I have always had second-hand cameras and they have never come with them. But it sounds like a good option. Unfortunately I haven't seen it at a good price.
