I mean in AEW they at least try to highlight Abadon’s strengths (She’s terrifying to look at and we don’t know her origin) before the match happens. There is no possible way for Alexa to be scary. She’s too short, cute, and the basis of her character (Harley Quinn apparently) isn’t someone who was scary in the first place. The only thing scary about Alexa right now is that her kiddy dress is covering up one of her best assets.

WCW in 2000 was at least an easier watch and had legit stars. The sad thing is, there are fans out there that think the declining product and lower viewership is just because of there being no fans and things will improve once we are back to some form of normalcy. And you know what? It may...for 1-3 weeks. Then, it will just be the same garbage show but in front of fans again. Raw has been declining in every possible way LONG before the 'Rona was a thing.
The Attitude Era was great in terms of personalities, but there was some awful stuff back then too, but having Austin/Rock/Mankind/Taker etc there papered over those cracks.

The Alexa Bliss main event absolutely killed me. I guess she’s supposed to be Sister Abigail or something. But when all that changes is the color of her t-shirt and her makeup, it’s hard to go “Oh she’s unstoppable now” 🤣. It still would’ve been stupid but It would’ve been slightly better if she just started the match that way instead of “transforming”.
I can't imagine watching Raw nowadays. I'm a Smackdown apologist, so this is not JUST a WWE thing, its this show specifically. But I'd almost argue its worse than WCW 2000, which was at least insane and fascinating to watch. Raw is mostly just meaningless and boring. On top of that, 3 hour weekly tv show is just inherently a terrible idea. No one should ever do this again if they can avoid it, in all of entertainment. And it's not just "WWE bad", because in the past, Raw would have its moments. It would depend on when you were watching and what you were into. But it so clearly never recovered from how bad it got in 2018, and I'm unconvinced it ever will without some dramatic changes.

WWE is like 2000-era WCW if WCW thought it had no competition and didn't need to work to keep or attract fans. At least 2000 WCW had the feeling that someone was back stage trying to keep things interesting, even if that someone was an insane hack. WWE has this air of arrogance where they just throw spaghetti at the wall because they think people will lap it up no matter what. It's a really small difference in attitude, but I can definitely feel it.

WCW 2000 LITERALLY is BETTER than WWE in 2021, WCW had those newer cruiserweights & few semi interesting top guys.. WWF 2021 has NOTHING Interesting. Not even one intriguing Top Talent, Long Time " old faithful "Worker that has good matches on tv ( if they do they're so misused it's depressing), OR a prospect that excites you as a viewer....
Raw just can't catch a break cuz at least Smackdown has had periods where it's good, but Raw has not been consistently enjoyable since like 2001. Maybe during the Bryan-Authority feud but you still had the 20 minute opening promos every week.
Also Raw is now apparently run just by Vince and writers while SD Bryan is writing for SD(which Brie and Nikki confirmed)and Heyman and Roman has a lot sway too
I didnt mind raw around 2015 because even if there was some bad or boring there were still positives. I think it's just got progressively worse since then.

The authority era was waaaayyyy worse imo. I damn sure don't miss every RAW opening with a 10+ minute Haitch/Stephanie promo only for later on Seth Rollins to waffle on about how great he is. It was a babyface graveyard since Stephanie in particular got so much heat on her...and that was it. All heat no comeuppance.
WCW at its dirt worst in 2000 still had bright spots now and then, there is none of that with WWE right now. I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, they are so lucky fans aren't allowed at shows

It’s much worse...WCW 2000 had some stupid booking but at least there was attempt at fresh matches and television angles each week. They literally book these shows like they would have house shows in the sense it’s the same matches every week (and unlike house shows to the same audience as well). Just because wrestlers are feuding, I don’t need to see them in a match each week...it gets stale and the sense of anticipation to see those superstars make contact never has a chance to build up
We know most people on here are aew fans why they stay here because Alverz bash wwe more than anything and we know once wwe goes so will these shows because they got nothing bash about

@Christopher Marriott i understand that but I feel the show is more coherent though. I dont leave watching it scratching my head by what I just saw. Majority the time we just get matches as with the past 2 weeks or the christmas episode. Sometimes there's some bad comedy, a bad segment or its weak episode in general but it never verges on the levels of how bad raw is. I feel Prichard might oversee things but there has to be a different creative team on that show. The fact it's also 2 hours makes it an easier watch as well. I find I enjoy it most weeks.
I’m glad the Ricochet AJ match was good but the fact that 1 match/segment was good means there’s still room to get worse. We haven’t hit rock bottom yet folks and when we do, Vince will grab a diamond pickaxe

This is no longer bad wrestling, this is awful television; horribly written, horribly acted, and almost all the matches end in a fuck finish. The Alexa Bliss main event absolutely killed me. I guess she’s supposed to be Sister Abigail or something. But when all that changes is the color of her t-shirt and her makeup, it’s hard to go “Oh she’s unstoppable now” 🤣. It still would’ve been stupid but It would’ve been slightly better if she just started the match that way instead of “transforming”.

I can't imagine watching Raw nowadays. I'm a Smackdown apologist, so this is not JUST a WWE thing, its this show specifically. But I'd almost argue its worse than WCW 2000, which was at least insane and fascinating to watch. Raw is mostly just meaningless and boring. On top of that, 3 hour weekly tv show is just inherently a terrible idea. No one should ever do this again if they can avoid it, in all of entertainment.
And it's not just "WWE bad", because in the past, Raw would have its moments. It would depend on when you were watching and what you were into. But it so clearly never recovered from how bad it got in 2018, and I'm unconvinced it ever will without some dramatic changes.

WWE is like 2000-era WCW if WCW thought it had no competition and didn't need to work to keep or attract fans. At least 2000 WCW had the feeling that someone was back stage trying to keep things interesting, even if that someone was an insane hack. WWE has this air of arrogance where they just throw spaghetti at the wall because they think people will lap it up no matter what. It's a really small difference in attitude, but I can definitely feel it.

in 2021, WCW had those newer cruiserweights & few semi interesting top guys.. WWF 2021 has NOTHING Interesting. Raw just can't catch a break cuz at least Smackdown has had periods where it's good, but Raw has not been consistently enjoyable since like 2001. Maybe during the Bryan-Authority feud but you still had the 20 minute opening promos every week.
Also Raw is now apparently run just by Vince and writers while SD Bryan is writing for SD(which Brie and Nikki confirmed)and Heyman and Roman has a lot sway too

I didnt mind raw around 2015 because even if there was some bad or boring there were still positives. I think it's just got progressively worse since then.
The sad reality is that the 50k that watched Impact on AXS tuesday got a better show than RAW this week.

The Bray/Alexa stuff is the _only_ thing on WWE besides Roman Reigns worth watching these days. It’s much worse...WCW 2000 had some stupid booking but at least there was attempt at fresh matches and television angles each week. They literally book these shows like they would have house shows in the sense it’s the same matches every week (and unlike house shows to the same audience as well). Just because wrestlers are feuding, I don’t need to see them in a match each week...it gets stale and the sense of anticipation to see those superstars make contact never has a chance to build up

@Christopher Marriott i understand that but I feel the show is more coherent though. I dont leave watching it scratching my head by what I just saw. Majority the time we just get matches as with the past 2 weeks or the christmas episode. Sometimes there's some bad comedy, a bad segment or its weak episode in general but it never verges on the levels of how bad raw is. I feel Prichard might oversee things but there has to be a different creative team on that show. The fact it's also 2 hours makes it an easier watch as well. I find I enjoy it most weeks.

Haven't watched wrestling in two years, and this doesn't make me miss it in the least. This is no longer bad wrestling, this is awful television; horribly written, horribly acted, and almost all the matches end in a fuck finish. I don't understand how people can watch this and enjoy it, they must have some severe psychological issues that need attending.
