Zion reminds me of a Charles Barkley in his play but he is taller and not chubby. Just the way he can shoot and rebound his own shot over and over. He can diagnose faster than others and is fast enough to act.
Chuck had superb offensive technique, and was also a very good passer, neither of which is Zion's MO. Imo he is closer to athletic Paul Millsap or Elvin Hayes or something. In any case, a very unique player.

Duke fan here, It was tough going to the Elite 8 for a second year in a row and coming up short. The game was a very winnable game for us, although I do think Zion was getting beaten to death all night in the paint, and no fouls were called, but other than that we could have won. But I hate the media trying to be so divisive to a team all of the time. Trying to blame Coach K or RJ. And calling the season a failure. Its hard for freshmen led teams to win the National Championship. In fact all of the teams in the Final Four are mainly upperclassmen led teams. Am I bummed and disappointed yeah, but there is no ONE person to blame. The TEAM lost. Nothing more, nothing less.
This Duke team reminds me of the 2010 Miami Heat. Made it to the Finals on talent alone, but they ran into Dallas in the Finals that was just much more polished and efficient as a team.
The problem with Cam Reddish might have been Barrett? From day one, all he seemed concerned about was getting his shots up. He may talk team and family but he's making sure he gets his numbers. It might have frustrated Cam? Who knows.
Johnny TightLips they kept trying to lob it to him in the post when it wasn’t working. That’s they’re bread and butter when the other team fronts Zion. It’s just every time they threw the lob pass it got stolen.
I actually agree with skip here 100%. Dukes offense turned to a one on one and they didn’t run enough plays to get the ball to Zion. When you have stud players like duke has it’s easy to fall into that one on one game. Although, Zion looked tired in the 2nd half (courtesy of being 285 lbs.) and you have to give Michigan State credit for playing good defense and denying Zion the ball. RJ Barret is good but he does ball hog sometimes and forces shots. Look at the Gonzaga loss duke had earlier this season and see what I’m talking about. RJ forced bad shot after bad shot that game. Plus let’s not forget duke has times where they just miss way too many free throws, and in tight games that’s the difference in a win or loss
Deveon Hood yeah, you can’t cheat physics, he’s just too heavy to have the stamina of a smaller guy. I think the nba will shave about 30-40 lbs off Zion in the first couple of years.

I've watched nearly every Duke game for the past 20 years. For me, it's about the lack of depth. Over the past 5-6 years, it's been like a 5-7 man rotation and there is no depth or bench production. This is partly because so many guys leave every year, but it's also because Coach K seems reluctant to play guys and let them develop. Like he's almost afraid of the 1 and done players not playing 35 minutes a night because the next year's recruits are watching. The best Duke teams are ones that went 8-9-10 players deep, they had legitimate scoring off the bench, and they had upperclassmen helping. Duke has had none of that since their last championship in 2015.

I TOTALLY agree with Skip on this. Duke seemed to be intentionally neutralizing Zion the entire season. At times I felt like the Duke players were icing Zion, so seldom did he see the ball. And I TOTALLY agree with the Alcindor comparison. I have not seen a player as dominant in college basketball.
THE GAME 👉WAS FIXED👈. Everyone who gambles should have seen this coming. The two previous Duke wins, they barely survived them and in doing so. They were reeling those gambling fools in! They themselves became the BIG CATCH🤔
Few things I noticed. Duke as a whole played pretty well. First Zion needs to give up the ball more, there were several times where Zion went up in the post when he was double or triple teamed. Down the stretch, I don't know if it was designed by Coach K, but they tried to force the ball to Zion in the post without running any actions to create space. Giving it to Zion in the post with no movement let Michigan crowd Zion and they had a few turnovers down the stretch because of it. Even if Zion can't shoot, Ben Simmons as an example, there are tons of ways to get a guy open towards the basket. Also, RJ gotta hit them free throws.
Coach K was out coached & RJ is a ball hog. I’ve never felt at any point in the season that Zion & RJ had any chemistry whatsoever. It’s always been Zion doin his thing & RJ doin his own, trying to compete for the spotlight. It’s never been them doin it together and finally it came back to bite them

I've watched nearly every Duke game for the past 20 years. For me, it's about the lack of depth. Over the past 5-6 years, it's been like a 5-7 man rotation and there is no depth or bench production. This is partly because so many guys leave every year, but it's also because Coach K seems reluctant to play guys and let them develop. Like he's almost afraid of the 1 and done players not playing 35 minutes a night because the next year's recruits are watching. The best Duke teams are ones that went 8-9-10 players deep, they had legitimate scoring off the bench, and they had upperclassmen helping. Duke has had none of that since their last championship in 2015.

I TOTALLY agree with Skip on this. Duke seemed to be intentionally neutralizing Zion the entire season. At times I felt like the Duke players were icing Zion, so seldom did he see the ball. And I TOTALLY agree with the Alcindor comparison. I have not seen a player as dominant in college basketball.

Everyone who gambles should have seen this coming. The two previous Duke wins, they barely survived them and in doing so. They were reeling those gambling fools in! They themselves became the BIG CATCH🤔
Few things I noticed. Duke as a whole played pretty well. First Zion needs to give up the ball more, there were several times where Zion went up in the post when he was double or triple teamed. Down the stretch, I don't know if it was designed by Coach K, but they tried to force the ball to Zion in the post without running any actions to create space. Giving it to Zion in the post with no movement let Michigan crowd Zion and they had a few turnovers down the stretch because of it. Even if Zion can't shoot, Ben Simmons as an example, there are tons of ways to get a guy open towards the basket. Also, RJ gotta hit them free throws.

Coach K was out coached & RJ is a ball hog. I’ve never felt at any point in the season that Zion & RJ had any chemistry whatsoever. It’s always been Zion doin his thing & RJ doin his own, trying to compete for the spotlight. It’s never been them doin it together and finally it came back to bite them
