Why do we have 28mm bases? 25mm is fine for things that fit on them (unlike Orks who haven't fitted on them since Rogue Trader), and 32mm is fine for slightly bigger stuff. Looking through my base collection I am always hard pressed to see the 3mm difference between the 25s and 28s, so why bother? Is this just a prelude to GW introducing a 29.75mm standard base next? They could have ditched the 28mms and just used the space for more bases that people (outside of Guard players) will actually use. And why are all the different sizes in the same box? None of my armies use 28mm bases. And for Space Marine players it's even worse. Two-thirds of the box (which GW retails in the States for $38--as much as some older/smaller unit boxes) is pretty much useless to them. Don't get me wrong, I think they look cool, and I like the fact they are plastic as I like plastic cementing my minis to their bases. In fact I would use the smaller ones for my Alien-themed Tyranid horde, but at the price they are asking and with no bases big enough to accommodate my larger bugs there really isn't any point. I rather get another box of Termagants, Ork Nobz, Stormboyz, or (at least until a recent price hike) _two boxes_ of Gretchin rather than just something for them to stand on.
Hi there and thanks for watching. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I can totally see where your coming from. I thought it was quite strange myself to see 25's and 28's but then no 40. I had to use the bitz that come on the sprues to jazz up my terminator bases. Now the end result is fine but I would have much rather had actual bases as well.
It’s targeted for boarding actions and kill team, hence why it’s located under both on the website. Almost all space marines go on 32mm bases, almost all normal human characters go on 25mm, and there’s a few kill teams that go on 28mm like Kasrkin. Buy a box of this and you have themed bases for the kill team/ boarding patrol you likely bought There’s your answer.
Kill team has some 25s and 28 mix, so useful for that
Those are super cool bases
They are nice. Going to make some 40mm for my Deathwing.
cheers pal
Enjoy warhammer world!! Love to go someday. Is that you I see on warhammer community?
