I read the book. At first, I thought everything about it was “normal” and felt good about how they ended up together in the end. But after watching your video, I do agree with what you’re saying. I feel like Elliot’s SA experience wasn’t taken seriously at all. Which is terrible because that alludes to a bigger social issue. At the same time, connecting this experience with Macy’s dad dying makes it all the more crazy. I also think my initial thoughts were prompted by how popular and well liked the book was.
