I love how these guys give off super cool chill jibes of buddies sitting around drinking beer, but also produce products that are changing home brewing as we know it
If there's dry hop issues with this method use a hop sleeve. I've keg dry hopped using them and combined with a floating dip tube had no issues. Only reason I've not fermented in a corney is it's too small. Glad you've sorted that. 👍
I brewed arguably my best JHIPA in a 6.1 Gal Torpedo and served straight from it with a floating dip tube. Congrats on the successful project with wishes for best of luck on the market with it.
Love the thought process! I have had zero complaint about serving beer out my all-rounder, tastes great, and already carbonated from preasure ferminting. Keep up the great work.............oh, and make a new brewing video. They are always great!
We made a IPL style beer in an our fermzilla plastic pressure fermenter on yeast for 3 months at 2°c and it just got better and better. Just served as we wanted to drink (weekends) every week the flavour improved significantly. We used a the new hop extract products from bathHaas incognito and spectrum and llamand NEIPA yeast. Best beer we’ve made to date. I was expecting it to be ruined. Also kept at 10psi the whole time.
Great work, and nice price point! I really enjoyed hearing how you designed this based on the needs of actual homebrewers! Keep the amazing videos and products coming!
As someone who typically has multiple beers fermenting at once, having the option for a 4" TC lid with a stainless coil for chilling would make these perfect.
Currently rocking a homemade system very similar to this but with a lot less flexibility. I LOVE it. To Kyle's comment about serving on yeast cake I can provide more evidence of not having any issues. I often transfer just so I can use my fermenter for another batch and/or add finings. Looking forward to seeing some people try out this version!
Love these units!! I have been fermenting on cornies for a long time, and would definitely buy one of these as soon as you can ship to Spain at an affordable price!! keep up the great work 🎉
I have 2 30L sanke's and a 58L sanke with spears removed. I have a 2" triclamp connector with PRV and ball lock gas and liquid connections. Works amazing well!
My last beer was served from a Fermzilla All Rounder. It was a beer that was made and stored for 6 months on the trub and dry hop !!! After fermentation I dropped it to 3C and it sat there for 6 months, finally transferred it to a corny keg, topped up the pressure and served. Tasted fresh as a daisy....clear as a bell and zero oxidisation. I was really surprised. I guess as it was sitting under pressure all the time and was cold crashed at the point of fermentation being complete is what done the trick. I wouldn't recommend 6 months like me, but I can see how a lightly dry hopped / none dry hop could sit there without any issues.

Very cool product, big fan of your brewing system. You are absolutely right about not needing to transfer as well, its one of those age old myths that just refuses to die on the homebrew scale.
This is very interesting. I'm getting VERY close to pulling the trigger on your 10Gal 120V kit. I've been researching fermenters, and just looked at Conicals by Spike that looked interesting. Thank you in advance!! CC
I have been useing a king keg chubby fermenters for @ 2 years and for most of that time I served direct from the chubby,I only had one bad beer(it somehow tasted like dust) but I salvaged it with a dose of ascorbic acid. For the rest it was great even when I brewed on the old yeast cake multiple times.
I was checking out the torpedo wide mouth new release and was hesitant due to the larger version of the ball keg opening. Thank you for using tri-clamp!!
thanks for the video. I find you need to rack the beer at least once otherwise it wont go clear. I pulled the trigger on a Grainfather conical and am very happy with it but the cost is a shocker. In Canada water cooling works least the hottest summer weather where a Kveik is the way to go if youre worried about mid to high 20*c. I'm a fan of kegging. I've looked at univerals and think your unit is a better option. I've never had a oxygen problem so wont consider more money for a problem I've never experienced. You know a standard keg with a shorter dip tube and a custom lid with your added features would do the same thing but you would have to brew at a smaller batch size............anyway..........I think you guys are great so keep up the good work
Looks like an great product... I just spent 125 bucks on a 6.5 gallon torpedo keg for a fermentation vessel. I don't know if this offers enough value at the price point though and it's still too large for a small fridge like the one in your background. I have served beer from the fermentation vessel with a floating dip tube and it works great.
Gotta hand it to you, this is a great design. Unexpectedly smart! I’ve loved fermenting in kegs for years and can attest to the great (and easy) results. I spent a bunch of money this year to have a local welder add a 4” TC to some kegs and came up with a similar design that you did! Very cool! Your lid looks really smart too.
Gotta add - in the past i went down the road of $1k conical unitank and it was cool but was too much work and fuss compared to my kegs, so I went back to the upgraded kegs. So man these kegmenters are exactly what I was always looking for! Wish I could have bought one last year.
It absolutely is possible to ferment a full 5 gallon batch in a 5 gallon corny keg with most batches. And use a floating dip tube to avoid clogging. I've been fermenting in my kegs exclusively for years now. I prefer using pin lock kegs.
Awesome love it, Kyle. I pretty much have been doing this same thing for a long time with my fermzilla. I like how I Can see through it and see what it's doing, and then I just serve right from the fermenter. But it's not as durable as your new kegmenter, and of course if you don't have somewhere to ferment like a chest freezer the fermzilla being see through can be a detriment.
Very cool. Really like your guys' pragmatic approach to things. I built my own glycol chiller in place of a fermentation chamber to save space and provide more flexibility with multiple fermentation vessels/temps (in the future), so a coil chiller would be a must for me. One other question I have is: what's the height like? Will it fit inside of a typical 1/2/3/4 tap kegerator, like Komos, Kegland, etc.?
I serve directly out of my fermzilla, mainly because I want to save on co2 and cut the risk of infection. My beers to me have been fantastic so far but I have had 1 or 2 poor ones. Brewing this weekend, going to do a new england.
This looks like a great option, and solves a lot of problems. I've never served beer off yeast so can't comment on that. I wonder in future editions could you incorporate a dump valve directly underneath. The price point looks pretty fair to me
Honestly looks great. Wish I didn’t buy a Torpedo Keg a couple months ago. This models blows mine out of the water. But to your point I’ve had a Kolsch that I brewed in a keg and served without transferring and its only tasted cleaner as its aged (4 months at this point)
Sick product, Slap the dimensions up on your site to help folks with sizing freezers to fit them :) Could see a nice pair of ferment n carb freezers side by side filled w these.
Unitanking changed the way I brew beer forever. If you're a newer brewer on a budget, buy a keg, spunding valve, and a floating dip tube and use this new tool to make nonoxidized and quick fermented ales and high temp fermented lagers.
I like this, but I can still see having the same issue as with my kegs. I'm a mead maker and when I have fruit in the keg, I clog the pop its and the tube. I also can't see what is going on and have to tap it and pull a sample. I have been trying to get to the point of fermenting in a keg, I'm close, and I do like this setup with the options. I haven't fermented and served from the same keg, but I have left my mead on the yeast (lees) to give creaminess mouthfeel to certain meads.
This is what I have been waiting for! I WILL be buying one, but I do have a silly question. I say that because it seems obvious, but I still want to ask haha. I assume this fermenter can be using for closed transfers into another keg. I already have several kegs and would like to just continue to use those and use this and my main fermentor. No sense in letting them go to waste. You guys stay killin' it!
Yes, this has both liquid and gas ports on the top that can be used for closed transfer. Just match the pressure in both kegs, put a spunding valve on your serving keg and slowly release some pressure to get it going. It even has a backup port for a floating dip tube just Incase the main dip tube gets clogged.
I am super excited for this. Really excited. I have a question though. How do you think you would compare yours to the Blickman Cornical (keg fermenter but with a conical bottom) which is a similar idea .
Definitely think this product will appeal to a mass market, unfortunately for me without a glycol coil it's not suitable but I love the innovation, keep it up guys!

Firstly, nice product. Not sure how it is different from just a normal corny keg though. The standard dip tube that comes with this unit is just a normal dip tube that pulls from the bottom? Don't you just suck up all the trub that falls to the bottom during the cold crash? Wouldn't it have been 'different' to have the floating dip tube as standard? I have 2 All Rounders and they are just about perfect (IMO). Good luck with it all.
I've never fermented in a keg because the liquid tube goes to the bottom. Does this 6.5 gallon allow for everything to settle and suck only clean beer? Also, I roll the keg during forced carbonation. I would need to re-think that process. Will continue to follow this topic and learn from the new videos on the product.
I'm extremely interested! What is the diameter and height of this? I'd need to make sure I could fit two of these in the chest freezer I use for fermentation right now with a Spike Flex+
You don't. You use the fermentor as a serving keg as well leaving the trub in the keg fermenter. A optional floating dip tube helps you not get clogged while serving.

A chilling coil to fit the 1.5" port would be great so I can use my glycol chiller. Not sure if anyone makes such a product. My spike would fit the 4" tc port, but then couldn't blowoff. 🤔 Was looking for a 5g solution for split batches for yeast comparison. So curiously the yeast settles to bottom, I guess it comes out tap first?
@@ClawhammerSupply that's probably my other issue. I havent measured my internal height on my kegerator. May be too tall to fit. Still very enticing product if I didn't have to fully rebuild my systems. I'll be keeping eye on progress if you develop a glycol chilling option for it. If I wasn't so committed to my setup I'd quickly be ordering 2 of these.

If both gas posts were to the sides like a corny, I could put a gas post spunding valve on the gas side while fermenting and use the 4" TC for chilling. I'll be keeping eye on progress if you develop a glycol chilling option for it. If I wasn't so committed to my setup I'd quickly be ordering 2 of these.
Well done on the fermenter. Am I tripping or are his hands huge?
Lol…
Saúde 🍻🍻🍻 Depois veja os fermentadores que faço com barril de 30 e 50 litros. 🤖👽
Whatever happened to the hobby part of homebrewing. When we designed our own systems from hardware stores used our own ideas. Try to build something for the lowest cost and the most efficient equipment.
🤩
had I not just bought a $2000 jacketed conical with glycol system....lmao
never ever open the triclamp under preassure
There is some substantive in this video, but that's an ad.
Question: will this product get me chicks?
