ive got a rear awning on the back of the ute and ive only used it a couple of times but it will be handy when its raining. And your 100% right about the pin having to go through 2 parts not 1 for strength. The quality of your aldi stuff is becoming a little surprising
Some people have mentioned that but I don't think these things would stand up to high winds very well anyway and I always prefer metal because plastic almost always breaks in the end.
Do you have a budget awning on your 4x4? If so what type is it and how well has it done?

The arb awning uses plastic Bracket and the pole can do 180 degree fold without breaking ( The wrong way ) 👍

We have had to return a couple of items but most Aldi gear has been good so far.
Aren't the plastic connections to bend in high winds etc, not bend and not reshape/ break?
