@AdventuringPals well, got it on myself. Faffed about a bit, and needed some bolts from bunnings, but it's on. Just too bloody windy in Brisbane to set the awning up to try out!
Thanks mate. I’m not too sure what else you do. I thought I’ve seen some brackets that are designed to be able to be removed and they only leave behind a part of the mounting bracket. But o can’t remember who makes them now. Sorry.
Thanks nice Video, Just a quick question, instead of mounting the bracket on the top of the tack, can it be slide in the rack and drill through and bolt the bracket. this way you don't have to cut the rubber seal and it will look more professional.
Thanks mate. You could do that depending on if you can access to the bottom of the rail and the mounting foot doesn’t get in the way. And there isn’t a lot of room in the channels. But the racks are designed with the idea of using nuts in the channels to mount things. They even call them “channel nuts”.

awesome video mate. very helpful. there is quite a gap between the awning mount and the cab roof. could you turn the L bracket upside down so the awning is mounted lower and close the gap a bit?
Thanks mate. Yes you could do that but I made mine the way I did to give me more head room under the awning. I’ve had it the other way on other 4wds and it works fine.
