When I was in France I ate passion fruit sorbet and raspberry sorbet almost everyday, the guy at the store told me they were just puréed fruit and sugar so I was like 🤝🏻🤙🏻 on my 3rd last day I asked to see the allergens list because I was suspicious and saw that the passion fruit sorbet had milk in it! 😭 I was upset about it for a while but decided just to move forward and be more cautious in the future.
Are you sure that there was really Milk in the sorbet and that it was not only processed in the same factories as Milk products?🤔 Because Milk in sorbet is very unusual
@@silasbock3135 no unfortunately there was, they put lactose or some milk proteins in some of their sorbets to make them more creamy. The raspberry one was luckily vegan but still it taught me to be more cautious and not just assume they are vegan.
I made a mistake with a dark chocolate for a while. I am vegan but can't eat dairy and couldn't figure out why this super dark chocolate would make me sick any time I ate it (I kept attributing it to other things). Turns out there was milk in it >.< Mistakes happen though! You're only human. Live and learn!

They'll get better, as time goes by, and learn that there is protein in all living food. Takes time. Also, it seems that the oat industry/lobby, has got their tentacles in there.

Hey Mina, I just wanted to let you know that there is kind of a vegan sour cream in German supermarkets, too. Actually it's a vegan Creme Fraiche but I don't feel like there really is a difference. It's called Creme Vega by Dr. Oetker. You can find it in any Rewe and Edeka store, I guess. At least the ones in Munich do have them, so I think they should be available in Berlin, too. It's very close to the real thing! I've used it for Tarte Flamme, creamy pasta sauce and dips so far and it's soooo good😊
I discovered your channel today and I must say that I love it! I've been vegetarian for almost a month now because I live with my parents so the food is really difficult to prepare and they were overall not happy with my decision. We were on holiday in Spain, eating at a tapas buffet and every this contained meat or fish, I took three pieces of what seemed like cream cheese, turns out it was actually fish. My mother said to me that if I liked it I should have eaten it, and my father was really hard on me, saying that I couldn't be that inflexible and that I had to adapt. Felt really bad but now things are getting better! Thank you for showing it's okay to get something wrong sometimes!
non vegan by accident story so i was in a restaurant and i asked my family if they knew what the burger was made of and my uncle told me that it’s vegan and with soy joghurt or something. so i was excited cause that sounded cool, so i decided to get it. i ate it, but not the whole burger cause it wasn’t the best. and when i was at home my mom told me that my uncle realized that he messed up, cause it was with some kind of sheep i didn’t know meat and cheese. when u found out, i felt so bad and cried. but it was by accident and my uncle messed things up. sorry for my english, i’m still learning :)
I was in Finland a few months ago for 2 and a half weeks, and I am vegan aswell. I found Finland absolutely awesome for vegan food! So so many vegan options in store, even in the small town I was in. I absolutely loved it, and the food. Awwww, I want to go back now :( ahaha xx
I remember my dad bought me this *vegan* cottage pie, while I was eating it seemed to real so I stopped eating the pie. I decided to check the package and it said it had lean beef in it🙈🥴I felt so sick and I couldn’t stop crying ( keep in my that I haven’t had meat in 2 years) but we all make mistakes🙃
a few months ago i was with my high school class on our last school trip in the mountains. i am from poland and being vegan here is not that easy, expecially in those smaller cities. we were there for a few days and i took some food with me but i didn't have anything for dinner (and there was no kitchen for guests so i couldn't cook for myself) so for 2 days i ate just boiled potatos but on the 3rd day i was really hungry, i didn't have much energy. i was desperate so i decided to eat crêpes(not vegan) that they gave me at the cafeteria but i felt so bad after this! i went to my room and cried for a little bit, i don't even know why. that was so sad that i didn't really have a choice (we were hiking a lot so i used a lot of energy, i was weak and tired). in poland it's really a struggle when i am going for some vacation with my family or friends and all i can eat is french fries because in my country you can't find vegan dishes everywhere. it's ok to eat fries once or twice but eating fries for 7 days in the row is quiet hard 😂

We have an African restaurant here that offers traditional Thieboudienne (a Senegalese dish) and a vegan version of it too. A few months ago I ordered the vegan Thieboudienne for take-away. I had already tried it before and knew that it tasted great. Back at home I opened the box and realized that there was a huge chunk of fish in it this time which made the whole thing look really unappetizing. Since I was hungry and the animal was dead and sold anyway, I ate the rice and some of the gravy (which clearly tasted of fish). The "traditional taste" was really no match for the veganized version, at least I can tell you that. The experience made me sad, but I got over it quickly. Next time I'll open the box before leaving.

Even in small cities the grocery stores have sooo many vegan products, we have different kinds of tofu/oat block, seitan, tempe, soy bites and sausages, soy kebab, pulled oat protein, broad beans protein, falafels, fake meat...
oh and I also accidentally had a slice of non- vegan toast very recently, because my sister chose BUTTER-Toast instead of our usual toast which is vegan :3
My mother made Käsespätzle- bought vegan ones for me with vegan cheese and put margarine on it. All good, but as I put a generous amount of onions on them and enjoyed them my mother said „Of course they were made with butter !“
Even in italy you have to do that bus thing and it’s not weird, because it’s possible that you don’t won’t to go with the bus that is coming because your destination isn’t the same, so you have to do the hand thing so they know that you were waiting for that bus it’s just that simple
Don't beat yourself up! We don't live in a vegan world, it's bound to happen. I've been vegan for over 15 years and it's happened a few times, mostly honey. The point for me is to cause as little harm as possible, not to be perfect. ❤

Also, although its easy to be vegan in Helsinki (or Turku or Vasaa or Tampere, really any "bigger" cities) , not so much if you live in one of the many small towns in Finland so please be aware of that (most grocery stores obviously have vegan stuff, but if you dont have a kitchen it might be hard)

Don't beat yourself up over the yogurt! When Taco Bell released their nacho fries, I asked if they were vegan minus the nacho sauce substitute for gauc - they said yes. I got home, took a bite - and tasted cheese. There was cheddar powder all over them - I called and explained what happened, they offered to refund it, and I said no, it's okay - just please have your employees know what's in their food before confirming its dairy free. I was upset for a while - but mistakes happen, just do your best

Something happened to me recently, I used to get some tortillas from the store that did not have milk or eggs or anything, and apparently they changed the ingredients 2 months ago or so, they now have milk powder (for no reason tbh), and well, I have been eating those milky powder tortillas for a while without knowing.. When I found out it made me a bit sad,I hate when they add milk powder to stuff that doesnt even need it, but now I found a different brand... And so thats my story eating non vegan stuff that I though was vegan.. ✌🏼

There is vegan sour cream in Germany tho (if you let creme fraiche count) : it's creme Vega by Dr. Oetker

Something happened to me recently, I used to get some tortillas from the store that did not have milk or eggs or anything, and apparently they changed the ingredients 2 months ago or so, they now have milk powder (for no reason tbh), and well, I have been eating those milky powder tortillas for a while without knowing.. When I found out it made me a bit sad,I hate when they add milk powder to stuff that doesnt even need it, but now I found a different brand... And so thats my story eating non vegan stuff that I though was vegan.. ✌🏼
