The only things with this mod that you might want to think about a little more is where you're getting your power from. it's tough to run wires under the dash and have them go where you want them, and because of that I often want to connect it to the first 12V bus I can find close by, but what it looks like you did is basically run your dash screen (which I imagine being somewhat power hungry) on the same fuse as one of your under the dash lights. The circuitry for the light is not designed to pull the same number of amps as your screen probably is. Now, as long as you didn't change the value of the fuse the worst thing that will happen is you might have problems with the fuse popping (which when you're driving down the road can be a big problem). If you did change the fuse however you've then created a fire hazard (you seem smart enough to not do this, so I'm assuming you didn't). "Install it in a way that doesn't keep me up at night"
Masking tape.
Can you tune where the yellow/red is on the “rev bar”
zach :"so it pretty much looks like windows"
me as a computer nerd:"that's raspbian which is linux but ok"
I thought
the same. Also, judging by the I/O of the thing behind the screen itself it's Raspberry 4. It have more juice in it than displaying a graph
@@VeinX wait wha
"Damage to manifold" pops up.
"Shut up" *slams computer*
I love having a digital guage cluster from the factory
Word of the day "hopefully"
Used, often at the start of a sentence, to express what you would like to happen:
Hopefully it won't rain.
Hopefully this fricking guage cluster fits.
“Look at all the things that I know about my car! That’s how you know that I’m really a car guy.” Is so accurate 😂
New segment idea: buy a 3D printer, download the free license version of Fusion 360, then print the speciality parts needed for your projects. Give a quick montage, and review their viability in their implemented application. I’ll go out on a limb and say that I wouldn’t be the only one interested in such content.
Next on Money Pit: I’m gonna install a new horn on the Miata that makes queef noises.
Me: That’s the best episode ever!
Who heard "I did a little Molly yesterday, it was weird" ? Zac, If it was weird, I've got a good guy.
i heard
If donut and gears and gasoline did an episode together that would solve all of the world’s problems
The real thing im thinking about is how does zach have 3 hands in the thumnail
just realized after reading this comment and went to check it 😂
This feels like an ad for the megasquirt
Can confirm, trips to the mall are super weird now
This video makes me wanna finish my own miata, and then i realize "it's a miata"
Zach: Here is some complicated process in this very complex manner.
Me: Hehehehe he said MeGa SqUiRt!
the way you advertise your merch and your sponsors is better than most youtube channels and i only say most because i haven't seen them all
Do a series where you build a car from the ground up please!! It could be like Hi/Low where you have a super high quality car and a budget car.
That literally was high low
Like kit cars?
@@Gamer_mii I would guess more of a restoration style than a kit car
@@grahameverett2676 I’m not talking about cheap and expensive coil overs, I’m talking about engines, trannys, suspension conversions (like solid axle to independent) and big stuff like that
@@MitchieFerg good idea, but not sure if it is financially feasible for Donut. These builds won't come cheap and making it double could blow the budget out of proportion. I like the idea, but I'm not seeing it happen anytime soon imo.
Has anyone else noticed Jobe has 3 arms in the thumbnail? Either that or he be packing🤣
I just looked at that rn lol
my main reason for watching Donut media is to watch this man work on his car👌🏽👌🏽
I kinda just realized that dash is just a 3d printed enclosure for a display and raspberry pi... that io is a little too familiar to me lol
yeah, and it's literally just running raspbian lmao
It’s Wednesday my dudes
😏
😩
"should look good"
11:26: Yep. Blue stripes. Looks excellent, good job.
yeah, it looks really good but it's sooo laggy. It looks to be updating information only 3 or 4 times a sec, and I would want at least 30 times or preferably 60 per sec.
