- Hello everyone! This week I decided to makeover an old lamp by turning it into a big ol' angler fish.
I promise no pufferfish were harmed in the making of my new lamp.

The way I CACKLED when I saw the teeth. (And then the shadows they leave!!!!) That’s so amazing. Between you and SkeinSpider I am now taking a very close look at my lamps.
Next time you do a "double walled" design maybe you could do the inner, less visible side in a color you don't use as much or in scraps. It could be a design feature too: like in this one you could've done the insides of the mouth in pink
The fact that with the jaw open it could hold a ball of yarn fed between the teeth makes this so functional for a crocheter! lights up your work and doubles as a yarn bowl :D. This turned out incredibly!

It's funny, the small safety eyes would actually have been size appropriate since real angler fish have tiny eyes. The crochet eyes definitely look cuter though.
I really wish companies made huge safety eyes commercially available. They're a bit niche but very needed for us crazy people who like BIG plushies

Fun fact all angler fish that look like that are female the mails are shaped like guppy’s or minnow

I loved the music you chose for the episode sort of a ethereal creepy but sweet sound but sort of with an underwater feeling.

This one must have taken a lot of work and brain power so make sure you give yourself a break and do something light and fun for a bit. 😂
Just to let you know, if you are going to make lightshades then 100% cotton is the best yarn to go with as it is much more resilient to heat, especially around lamps.
I always try to mark the different sides of my pentecostal if I have several pieces that fit together, that way I know exactly which way round everything is supposed to go, no worrying or spending extra time trying to work things out down the line.
I'm loving this angle fish though, how cute is this (never thought I'd say that about an angle fish 😂)

For your line up of big crochet projects, you should totally do like a big, fairly detailed frog, maybe with a long tongue sticking out hehe. This way you can have the green yellow colour scheme in your line up!

The lamp really turned out amazing 😊 Since ufouria the saga or hebereke in Japan is being remade it would be awsome if you created those characters in crotchet
I love her! And her big bootie 🤭 She looks like she could be an 'Ermintrude' to me 🤔 As an aside, I have some glow in the dark yarn for some skulls I made, that'd look pretty cool for her teeth and the shiny bits of her eyes. Amazing work, well done you! 🥰

I use a gooseneck uv lamp like this for my full cover nail tips. I'm gonna need to make one of these now. lol If you don't have a gooseneck lamp, there are fidget toys that extend and bend. I bet you could convert this pattern into a more singular piece using one of those with maybe a Styrofoam ball attached to the end as the lure and make a circular-ish black inner mouth piece to hide the closure of the body nugget.

I'd name her Angel. I'd also add some sort of flexible insulation around the lamp stem.

7:35 - this shape reminded me of a stingray :))) Ooooooo!!!! A stingray or an Oar fish would be amazingly creepy! Not going for creepy here, but the Oar fish kinda gives me those vibes...you know living miles & miles under the sea in the pitch dark. And when we have managed ti film it, it swims vertically. Hmmmm, now I want to create one. I will need loads of yarn for this one! What wonderful colors should I use? A rainbow Oar fish? Maybe i should leave this to you. You are the professional here & crochet hero for all of us xxx
