Yeah but thats not the case with cops. They have computers and radios and phones and they use all three of those constantly to check on things. If police couldnt text while driving, theyd have to pull you over before even running your licence plate, then determine youre free to go. Instead, they check while driving as to not waste your time. This type of incident is quite rare and its likely that even someone with their eyes 100% on the road wouldnt have had time to react to such a random occurrence.

It’s either using the phone to contact your team your patrolling with, or using a computer if your agency has that system setup.
