Love your videos. Keep up the great work! Always existed to see new content Love the introduction, now speaking of top 9 instead of "ranked", so every dungeon instantly gets credit in a way
Totally agree on Ages having the better dungeons (and being the better game overall). Funny how the black tower ends up being a better combat challenge than Onox's Castle, despite the focus of the game being puzzles. I disagree about the fan service in the gnarled root dungeon, I think all of the nods to NES level 1 are cool. It's only a few rooms in the dungeon, and it's just the intro dungeon. It probably doesn't rank much higher for me, but I always enjoy hopping into a dungeon and finishing quickly into the game. The top three choices in this video were predictable, but I was interested to see which order you put them in and what you had to say about them. Easily the standouts in this game, my personal favorite being explorer's crypt. Excited for Ages content!
Fun fact: Oracle of Seasons was suppose to be a complete remake of Zelda 1 while Oracle of Ages was a completely new game, which is why it includes Aquamentus, Dodongo, Gohma, Manhandia, Gleook, and Digdogger while Ages has all new bosses.
I just beat OoS last night after procrastinating on it for months (not for lack of skill, but rather due to some mental block I have about not finishing a game), and I really enjoyed it. Because I played it after OoA, my opinions are probably tainted by recency bias, but I do think I like Seasons just slightly better. My favorite dungeon is probably Dancing Dragon, mostly because of the music.
I love this game! Playing on my Gameboy color late at night...yeah times were simpler then. I liked this one better than Ages because I felt the time travel gimmick was already done before and helped make the rod of seasons stand out to me moreso.
Gomha with wizzrobes was a big thing in the original LOZ. Gohma was the boss in both wizzrobe dungeons. Also an avoidable one was in second quest 5 which had wizzrobes. I think the reason Gohma was a boss in those dungeons is because after the beating you got from the wizzrobes you deserved a simple quick boss.
honestly between ages and seasons wtf did they choose seasons to be the one based off the first zelda game? could have easily done it with ages and had an amazing gimmick of going back in time to do the dungeons again but they would just be copies of the zelda one dungeon
You know what, that could be a really fun concept. I'm kinda glad we got whole new dungeon designs, but if they had gone the remake direction, why not make it a little crazier?
I really hope the oracle game's get a remake one day
You and me both
It wil.
My pipe dream is they remake ages/seasons as one title, then shortly after release an Oracle of Secrets
I hate that I didn't remember the sword and shield dungeon at all but the moment you showed that little parkour I got war flashbacks
