I'm honestly super impressed not just with the work needed for this mod, but the _humbleness_ that Ruby approaches all these Rebalances with. There's none of the "devs are idiots, my way better" and arbitrary changes you usually see with rebalance mods, but a respectful look at how the original creators _wanted_ things to be and acknowledgement that as a mod, he has all the time in the world to tweak and perfect it.
I love how marines don't take passive damage from your vehicle getting shot anymore! PRO TIP: In the vanilla game's Scorpion sections, DO NOT let your Marines board the tank. Just drive off without them. Trust me, they will last WAY longer that way, while still giving you supporting fire with rocket launchers & captured ghosts!
13:43 My money is on Quarantine Zone. That's already the only place in the original trilogy I've ever been killed by a hostile Pelican (technically, the hostile Scorpion the Pelican was carrying, but still).
@@Zerox_Z21 and hey if these guys choose to restore the high charity warthog run for the mod, they could add pelicans to avoid for that extra spectacle
Yeah yeah the reason why i have never beaten it on legendary, only certain levels lol. You look at a sniper jackal: one hit dead. You just move arround the corner, one hit dead. You move arround trying to dodge, one hit dead :D

Looking forward to seeing how the upgrades to the stationary turrets play. In vanilla they feel like a death sentence to even walk near the prompt for them so buffing them into an actual viable option sounds like it'd definitely spice up levels they appear in.
13:40 obviously on Quarantine Zone with some flood Pelicans, but I'm predicting we might see some in High Charity as well, and maybe even one in some outdoor sections on Sacred Icon. We do also see human flood forms on the gas mine mine during Oracle, so it wouldn't be outrageously out of the question to have a flood Pelican fight or two on Oracle. Could just say the squads were sent to investigate the gas mine just like the Heretics, but accidentally found the flood first.
Ruby I just finished playing Ruby’s CE on legendary. The most fun I’ve had in years. I loved how viable everything felt, yet the game was still challenging. The enemies were tons of fun. You’re truly a master of your craft.
I am so insanely excited for this mod! Halo CE Rebalance was probably one of the best Halo experiences I've had in the past couple years. It truly felt like playing the game for the first time again, and I have absolutely no doubt that this mod will have the same effect! Keep up the good work!
When I played the new Halo CE mod, it was like playing it again for the first time back when I was 9 years old. Thank you for letting me relive that experience again! I cannot wait for your Halo 2 mod!
Seeing as we technically see 3 hostile pelicans already on quarantine zone, one fires missiles at something in the back ground while speading off the other carries a tank which can shoot you if you are unlucky.
I’m definitely looking forward to playing this when it’s released. Also, I find it comical how you’re able to mod Halo 2 Phantoms to explode that were never designed to and it still looks better than Halo Infinite’s Phantom explosions. It looks better in a game that came out 17 years earlier.
I cannot wait for the final result Ruby, still completely hyped here. This is a child's dream coming true, not even kidding i do not wait anything else video game related. Keep up the great work !!
I had no idea drifting wasn't in Halo 1, it feels so intrinsic to how the warthog works that I've always just muscle memoried into holding down the trigger when turning anyway and I guess assumed it was working.
Youre my favorite halo related thing right now , better than everything made in the last 10 years, ive played through your CE rebalanced two times on legendary and i cant wait for halo 2 and eventually halo 3 🎉 Kuddos man, peace and love❤
Can i marry Luna for just how much AMAZING work they are doing here with the models. Love the progress of this version of H2R so far when comapred to the Originals
Amazing work my friend. I love your Rebalance Mod for Halo: Combat Evolved; both that and Kashiiera’s Halo 3: Combat Evolved are my definitive ways to play Combat Evolved now!
From CE to reach are the PERFECT sandboxes for testing of all types of modding and rebalancing and graphics…these people will be the future of halos future.
Got to say love the battle rifle viewmodel looks much more better than the vanilla one. The sniper rifle viewmodel and the pistol viemodel look good too love the reload animations for them too
banshee shooting both at once should be a select fire, similar to how reach's banshee had you switch between bombs and plasma cannons. this would also reinforce the established lore in the books -- Cortana adjusted the firing (for a ghost, i think?) so it was no longer twin-blasters, and instead alternated shots observing better performance as anti-infantry vehicles... it'd be neat if both the ghost and the banshee got this select fire option
My man I will always appreciate the dedication to making halo more of how Bungie always saw the game. You never add sprint or ADS and your changes are pushed by what other Bungie games do. It really does a lot to help these rebalances feel in line with a Halo game. Thank you.
Vehicles in the Halo franchise have been done LEAGUES better than how Arkham Knight utilized the Batmobile. I cannot wait to see how Ruby delivers on vehicle sections with this mod.
Finally someone who gets it!! Vehicle play is the secret sauce that sets it apart from every other FPS. This is the reason nothing else hits like halo!
God... i wish one day we see a large scale landscape battle with a super warthog with 8 wheels that can dock other warthogs and has super spartan laser for turret .
afaik stencil shadows aren't possible in the Halo 2 engine, but someone's already added dynamic lighting and it looks damn good, and a lot closer to the original vision. it'd be incredible if ruby and that creator worked together

My guess for the Pelican appearances that you can destroy. Sacred Icon. Either Human or Flood controlled. High Charity. Most definitely Flood controlled.
I'm glad vehicles maintained their UNSC = Teamwork Covenant = Solo vibes. A lot of mods and fan concepts I've seen try to make solo UNSC vehicles that can shoot and pilot, or make more passenger covenant vehicles. All this mod did was make Shadows driveable, it didn't invent a new vehicle, so I can forgive that, though would have been cool to see the Shadow possibly have its own weapon to use, even if weak. Though, adding the turrets to the Wraith does satisfy this itch, seeing as now it's even more capable as a solo vehicle. But yeah, there's a reason the Scorpion, Spectre, Hornet/Falcon, and Revenant feel so unique to use, it's because they violate this general rule, but the more violations there are, the more the UNSC v Covenant divide is more aesthetics than gameplay which isn't exactly interesting, so it's great to see it upheld.
Halo has potentially the most fun gameplay loop of any fps that it's devs never figured out. Its incredible that fans and modders are taking lessons learned but it is a little disheartening that bungie and 343 never figured out the formula. Its supposed to be a sanbox, but in retail release a lot of the sanbox just isnt usable on higher difficulties for a variety of reasons (bad damage, performing it's role poorly, lack of ammo, enemy hyper lethality, ect.) Ironically doom eternal got a weapon balance better tuned since weapons can be used at any time if you understand the mechanics, unlike halo. I know doom doesn't have enemy ranks or vehicles to deal with. I just find it strange how shooters with full arsenals got weapon balance better than halo which prides itself on a massive sandbox allowing for player choice. Player choice that gets filtered out the higher in difficulty you climb.
Hi, I'm pretty new to your campaign rebalances, and am very much looking forward to try both your Halo CE and 2 mods. I was just wondering, for Halo 2, what would you think about modding its shadows? It's been a rather popular topic of discussion as of late, so I was wondering if it was something you were thinking about.
Man I really wish they explore and expanded vehicles in Halo. Like, giving hijacking more depth, health that affects performance and limited ammo for the weapons.
It's a pity you didn't add a health indicator for the vehicle and the Marines on board, I don't think I'm the only one who misses knowing how many shots away from dying the soldiers on board are.
Their health regenerates in all future halo games after CE, plus with the removal of the DOGSHIT damage being applied to all passengers should give you an idea of your guys health if you pay attention
Vehicle sections are part of a secret sauce that gives Halo its unique action sequences. There are things I strongly dislike about it, which you have adressed well. The health pool increases feel extremely bad and is the one reason I loathe these parts in Legendary. I'm very excited to play your mod. Sincerely a die-hard old shooter fan ♡

minor nit-pick, the Gauss hog does not fire an explosive projectile. It is just a chunk of metal going very, very fast so it "explodes" on impact.
Kinetic explosive reactions are still explosives. IT is just speed making the boom instead of a bomb making the boom.
