I'm putting time stamps for when each piece is being played for my sake and yours lol 8-8-16 3:14 Accent Tap 5:45 Double/Triple Beats 7:13 Chicken and a Roll 8:48 Triplet Rolls 10:17 Paradiddles 11:45 Flams 13:17 Hope this helps
How's the progress going?? I'm tech'ing visual/brass for a HS this season, going to student teach very soon, also did 1 year of DCI. I would assume this is your 3rd year now?
I march for the Kenowa Hills High School Marching Band. And our drumline consistently earned ratings above 19/20. We had two 3-hour rehearsals a week, did half of it warming up, and the other half working on show music! Dut! Dut! Dut! Dut!
I don't play drums but I LOVE to watch EMC doing warmups and appreciate the skill that it takes to do (and master) these exercises. 🐔 The focus factor and dexterity is quite impressive!! Looking BUFF there in that tee, EMC 👚
Hey dude I'm gonna be working with a new group this year and I'm really looking forward to using these warm ups. Super stock and watered down, I love it! Thank for the free sheet music, and I'll be sharing the videos with once we are throwing it down.
Any tips for a cymbal player in drumline? How do I learn more tricks and how should I improve... etc? Also any tips on how to do faster hinge chokes (hi hats)? Sometimes my instructor focuses more on the snares and others. Just keep going, right? It’s fun still but kinda sucks when there’s less instruction but it’s all good. Thanks so much!
Beginning of 7:16 excersize is double stroke, my school calls it double stroke at least. We have it written as triplets. And it goes in 4-2-1 format it’s really cool
Hey Eric! My students are really thriving on these warm-ups and you're amazing for making this video. It's the best resource on TH-cam for beginning high school students! Have you thought of doing a technique video (maybe a Patreon incentive?) to go along with it? Covering traditional grip, quad sticks out (positioning), and other basic things of that nature would go a long way with improving most of the kids i see out there today. Love the vidos :)
Slyestskydiver he posted on community and ig that the downbeat will be 3pm est which is 4am for my time so i immediately clicked on his channel as soon as it turned 4am
This video is hilarious, especially when i was the only bass in the line so i played bass four and hit those triplet rolls using different areas on the drum and dynamics for our show music. Im sad now
Musescore allows you to write for more than five basses. There is the MDL Basses which allows you to write for 5 or 10. It's a free battery extension for musescore 3 that you should for sure look into if you haven't already.
Questions for back braces. Should quad players wear back braces? How long should we wear it? Do you recommend any? Should I not wear one? What do you think about back braces?
So, for a tenor sax player, I understood the snare warmups pretty well except for the flam one at the end. That one kinda lost me. I am honestly not sure why I felt the need to learn these as I just recently turned 40 and haven’t been part of any bands of any kind since 2006. oh well.
My drumline had an exercise called double triple beat, but there were split sixteenth rhythms between snares and basses, not to mention the last 4 measures were 32nd runs on basses
What works as good as the demo dead ringer mufflers, for trap set. Sorry my question so late ,I've only found this channel, maybe a month Ago, love your teaching, and rudimentary videos I use to teach high school ,elementary 25 years ago
There is a way to use VDL with MuseScore. There is a tutorial in the forums (JACK won’t work with MuseScore 3 though, so you’ll have to use the MIDI Out method)
You should get MDL for muse score because it lets you use up to ten bass drums and it has better sounds. (You can get it for free on the musescore website)
Was surprised to see my school already uses a very similar accent tap exercise and the triplet double roll exercise is the exact same thing including the lead snare between reps lol looks like I’m already set
My band director is weird and doesn't understand the need for spock drums, and although we just got all brand new gear this year, decided that we should only get quads. Is there a way that you could do a version of these for quads, or maybe tell me what I should do to rewrite these?
Good morning, You should download the Musescore Drumline Extension. It allows better sounds and you can write for 10 basses. It comes with a lot of good content.
What app does emc use to create marching drum scores? I don't understand English and I'm translating it with a translator.emcさんは、マーチングドラムの楽譜を作成するのにどのようなアプリを用いて作成していますか?英語が分からなくて翻訳機を用いて翻訳しているので間違っていたらごめんなさい。
Hey Eric, I’ve watched quite a few of your videos on your channel and I was wondering if you ever thought of recreating one of your old videos like Experiment 0000001 or Fantasy Hi
Once my percussion teachers gave us a 30 measure warm up... that was also a mostly written by duke... that also had diddles for the first four bass drums. Needless to say we didn’t learn it
Is “The Commandants own” is it the only band in the Marine Corps and I don’t know about the Marina Corps ranking system but can you still join the military band if you go to officer training. Also do you perform in Tennessee anywhere anytime soon. If so I would love to see a military band perform because I’m looking into that career but in the Air Force. (Third time posting this)
hello EMCproductions you could start a series on your teaching channel from basic to advanced, because there are many Brazilians like me wanting to learn and develop more talent, but on TH-cam, there are no videos of didactics of this kind. If the Lord does, will help many people ..
I am just starting to play quads so that I can get ready for drumline auditions for high school marching band. How do you recommend I get started and what exercises do you recommend I work on?
I'm telling you right now 16th note grid, double beat, triplet rolls, and 16th note accent grid is really helpful. All of the warm-ups in this video as well are really helpful. My drumline did most of them just written differently :)
Love the vids. Just pointing out that you aren't playing the paradiddle-diddle exercise as written. The music on screen says RLRRLRR like the check and you played RLRRLLR. The exercise is great both ways. Keep making great vids.
Good morning! Hey, where's Lil_A_20? He's usually an early bird in these comments. Oh, no bother! Nice exercises! This is sure to get your galactic class battery in good shape! Especially that nut Steven Sassafras. Kid's got some bark but no bite.
I don’t understand the flam accent check pattern in flams. Isn’t the eighth note to two sixteenths to one eighth how it normally goes? You could just have a right hand centered bar and then a left hand instead of trading it off every beat
And you conveniently uploaded this video after marching season
Beginning of indoor season
Rip schools with no indoor :(
Right before parades
Decertator yeah 😂
Yuo winter percussion
"free sheet music" I've never clicked on something faster in my life
SAMEEEEE!!!!!!!
I'm putting time stamps for when each piece is being played for my sake and yours lol
8-8-16 3:14
Accent Tap 5:45
Double/Triple Beats 7:13
Chicken and a Roll 8:48
Triplet Rolls 10:17
Paradiddles 11:45
Flams 13:17
Hope this helps
the only one that kinda lost me was the flam warmup. not bad for a tenor sax guy.
As my instructors would say:
“You need to dut”
“Move your feet”
Ethman I was so tempted to star marking time when we was playing 😂
"...their exercises are like way too long, or way too hard, or BOTH!"
*Monarch Independent wants to: Know Your Location*
I didn’t expect you to legitimately post sheets since the last one you posted had a document that said “free style”
I like how none of these rolls is harder than the other. Each one comes with it's own set of challenges that evens things out.
11:46 Is the Paradiddle exercise but it sounds like Mandark's laugh from Dexter's Laboratory! 🤣 Awesome Video!
EMC!!! I STARTED MARCHING PERCUSSION ONLY A FEW WEEKS AGO AND I GOT ASSIGNED TO QUADS! I REEALLLLY wanted to tell you that
How's the progress going?? I'm tech'ing visual/brass for a HS this season, going to student teach very soon, also did 1 year of DCI. I would assume this is your 3rd year now?

Thank you so much! I was looking everywhere for resources to help my drum line. I am a guitarist and was so lost
Hey dude I'm gonna be working with a new group this year and I'm really looking forward to using these warm ups. Super stock and watered down, I love it! Thank for the free sheet music, and I'll be sharing the videos with once we are throwing it down.
17:53 - when I show my dad my Minecraft world
I practice to this every day. I don't know if you see this but I like yourvideos, especially about drums! Thank you 😊
You read my mind 😂😂 I've been looking for new warm up music and BOOM a notification from the man himself
Musescore Drumline allows up to 10 basses so.. splits with 10 basses when
iDofus my Musescore 10 bass doesn’t work 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
@@ATLDRUMACADEMY There should be an instrument named "MDL Bass Line 10" once MDL has been downloaded.
iDofus ok thank you I will have to try that !!!
@@ATLDRUMACADEMY Mhm
I love the mdl addon
Thank you. This is exactly what I need. You rock!
I just got out of school now I’m an hour late to this video
EMC. THANK. YOU I say hooah. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
Any tips for a cymbal player in drumline? How do I learn more tricks and how should I improve... etc? Also any tips on how to do faster hinge chokes (hi hats)? Yes my favorite drummer
the camera for bass 5 shakes the whole time when he hits😂😂😂

This would have been a good opportunity to advertise the tap off book from manly man's man cave
first lmao epic
stayed up till 4am to get first
Slyestskydiver he posted on community and ig that the downbeat will be 3pm est which is 4am for my time so i immediately clicked on his channel as soon as it turned 4am
Good job! I appreciate the commitment

I know you probably won’t see this, but you should do more day in the life of videos. They’re super cool
Questions for back braces.
Should quad players wear back braces?
How long should we wear it?
Do you recommend any?
Should I not wear one?
What do you think about back braces?
these exercises are perfect for my drumline. Been looking for something like the accent tap.
So, for a tenor sax player, I understood the snare warmups pretty well except for the flam one at the end. That one kinda lost me. I am honestly not sure why I felt the need to learn these as I just recently turned 40 and haven’t been part of any bands of any kind since 2006. oh well.
Are you doing the Corporals Course now? Noticed the sword.
Eric - THESE ARE GREAT! Thank you!!!!
I didn’t even watch it yet and I still know it’s going to be great
My drumline had an exercise called double triple beat, but there were split sixteenth rhythms between snares and basses, not to mention the last 4 measures were 32nd runs on basses
(1:49) that's what she said
Ahhh yes. U told me this vid was coming. Thank youuu
What works as good as the demo dead ringer mufflers, for trap set.

Ago, love your teaching, and rudimentary videos I use to teach high school ,elementary 25 years ago
Love ur vids and I think you might know my band instructor baron maskew you marched Carolina crowns with him
I love the NCO sword there! Now if you could find a way to put it on your quads.....
hey EMC would you be able to make a 6 bass part for these warmups??
My bassline has 7 basses, so we get even tougher cookies I guess.
Grady King do you go to WVU?
Or UMASS?
Hey- Do you have any front ensemble warm-ups? Thanks!
There is a way to use VDL with MuseScore. There is a tutorial in the forums (JACK won’t work with MuseScore 3 though, so you’ll have to use the MIDI Out method)
On MuseScore, you can choose the MDL Bassline (10) that gives you up to 10 basses to write for
Musescore has a Drumline add on for free with much better sounds and you can write up to 10 basses
3:11
5:42
7:12
8:47
11:43
13:16
You should get MDL for muse score because it lets you use up to ten bass drums and it has better sounds. (You can get it for free on the musescore website)
Can you make a video on how you hold your grip for snare drum and tenor please
Was surprised to see my school already uses a very similar accent tap exercise and the triplet double roll exercise is the exact same thing including the lead snare between reps lol looks like I’m already set

I will trying to get my Drumline to play this
Stoked on this. way late to the channel. The marching band world has always been a mystery to me. Canadian...eh.
Hey can you make a video on how to do sweeps and crossovers?
7:03 triple beat
13:13 flams
My school already has a form of accent tap and it's actually really groovy and we also play the exact same chicken and a roll
Good morning, You should download the Musescore Drumline Extension. It allows better sounds and you can write for 10 basses. It comes with a lot of good content.

Love u bro u r a amazing drummer
My drumline instructor has us doing these last year, but he added in a cymbal line, since I was the only cymbal lol
Thanks!!! I NEEDED THIS SO MUCH! =)
Download the musescore Drumline extension, then select MDL Bass Line 10
This way you can write for more than 5 drums
These are awesome excersies.
Seeing brave little toaster in the background is so based
any chance you could add the audio files in the google drive to play along to?
Könnte ich den Notensatz bekommen von den im Video gezeigten Übungen?
Once my percussion teachers gave us a 30 measure warm up... that was also a mostly written by duke... that also had diddles for the first four bass drums. Needless to say we didn’t learn it
How and what is the fastest way to learn and memorize tenor drum music? (i’m an intermediate drummer but beginning on tenors for WGI)
Is “The Commandants own” is it the only band in the Marine Corps and I don’t know about the Marina Corps ranking system but can you still join the military band if you go to officer training. You should do a learn the beats on Double Beat 9000
Actually if you choose the base drum 10 on musescore with musescore drumline, then you can notate for six drums.
Love the vids. Just pointing out that you aren't playing the paradiddle-diddle exercise as written. The music on screen says RLRRLRR like the check and you played RLRRLLR. The exercise is great both ways. Keep making great vids.
We do a couple of these but we have a cymbal part
What if we have 1 of snare and tuner and 4 base drums
Will these help with chops?
do you think u can maybe make an 7th grade warm up exercise
its ok if ya dont
32nd note 32nd note 16th note 16th note 32nd note 32nd note 16th note 16th note 8th note shot
13:13 flam taps.. i couldnt find them earlier
You should review the monsters university drumline
Good morning!
Hey, where's Lil_A_20? He's usually an early bird in these comments. Oh, no bother! Nice exercises! This is sure to get your galactic class battery in good shape! Especially that nut Steven Sassafras. Kid's got some bark but no bite.
Not criticizing, but one tip is to have the basses play with their left or right hands along with the tenors and snared
*Highland highschool starts drumline*
The next day
*emc posts drumline warm ups*
Hey Eric fingers or wrist?
I know what I'll be practicing between now until our band practice on Dec. 26th lol
Can you teach at delsea
Did Linda switch to blue devils I saw her on bass one
here for the bass splits - from: Miami, FL.
Thanks bro
Actually there is a way to have up to 10 bass drums in Musescore Drumline! I've never had a use for it, but i know its there.
I don’t understand the flam accent check pattern in flams. Isn’t the eighth note to two sixteenths to one eighth how it normally goes? You could just have a right hand centered bar and then a left hand instead of trading it off every beat
Nice!
Theres an mdl plugin for free on musescore. Sounds better and you can write up to 10 bass parts
My high school drumline did the same thing on 8/8-16 with basses
is it funny that i just noticed my drum tech uses this exact sheet music. even has the emc on the beginning. exactly the same
