Hello Greg :) do you do requests? How about some glitch in the matix videos?? Seems like a thing I think you would be interested in, there's some wild stuff out there in that corner of the internet :)
7:40 I get a similar feeling when looking at the moon during the day. Being lightly obscured on the other side of our atmosphere just gives it so much more depth. It somehow makes it easier to wrap my mind around it being an actual object orbiting us which no matter how clearly I know that fact, always blows my mind anew.
it makes sense for the caterpillar to mimic a snake- even a small one- because most snakes bite.. whether they are poisonous or not, it makes sense that most animals would be afraid of getting bitten.. so would leave it alone.
regarding the chicken clip at the beginning - as someone who has chickens they would LOVE if we turned feeding time into a game. chickens need enrichment like any other animal and they're very food motivated. the chicken in that clip is probably having a blast finding the pink circle in exchange for snacks, so don't worry! :D
You talking about the uncontacted Amazon tribe reminded me of the Forbidden Island in polynesia. Basically this scottish guy in the 1920s arrived on the island and ripped off its inhabitants with false promises. It caused the financial demise of so many people that the island was declared off limits to anyone not native. To this day, the island does not have running water or internet, and very limited electricity. You have to make a special request to visit the island, and you cannot stay more than a few days. It's not the same as the uncontacted tribes of the amazon obviously, but I find it even more fascinating. They basically closed off the entire island!
@@Jusdepommerose no I was mistaking some of the details! Niihau was purchased by a Scottish woman in the 1860s, and is mostly off limits to everyone except her descendants and native Hawaiians. Less than 100 people live there, there is no running water and limited electricity, horses and bikes are the forms of transportation, and they get their groceries delivered via barge from Kauai. There are very strict rules imposed by the family that owns it! Strange that it’s so similar though haha. It’s also called the forbidden island!
Wolves are extremely difficult as "pets". They never got domesticated like dogs and have totally different behaviour. They are not able to "read" us humans like dogs can. I would not want one... - 18:05. My Dad was a carpenter and you can not just cut a tree and built a table. Wood needs to rest and dry off about six months before you can use it. Otherwise it will split later. So this table took a while...
One thing you're wrong about Is they can read our body language but they do make terrible pets and even dangerous ones because they won't attack they're owner but anything or else is fair game and they're a pack animal so getting just one causes tons of problems I'm not being rude I just knew a guy that had almost a whole pack of wolfsdogs one was basically an wolf it was like 93% wolf and they listed to him but no one else

Regarding seeing a planet through a telescope, completely agree. I looked towards Jupiter not so long ago and I could just about see the different shades of the storm patterns and 5 or 6 tiny bright dots around it that were its moons. It was beautiful.
hey Greg love your videos! grafitis are a way to express art too, man! the "some guy who graffiti's" is "the professional who did in the grafiti style" 25:27
Got overly excited about that chicken video! We study dumb stuff like this in psychology, so we learn how our “learning” works. Whether it’s conditioned, think Pavlov’s dog, or unconditioned. I HAVE to agree though. The study’s (to me personally) sometimes border on straight dumb. Like, why are we doing this? But trust me, somebody’s always looking for funding, to run experiments, to “sell things better”. Even just changing the Army Logo from “Army of One” to “Be all you can be”..they hired a famous psychologist for THAT slogan. Still cool though! That class whooped my behind, but I passed! 😅
Yep. And to be fair, the "biologists" in question are probably just biology students or biology graduates, which are everywhere, making comments on social media, rather than actual biologists doing research on turtles. In medical school, one of my classmates completed a biology degree. And he actually asked me if turtles were amphibians or reptiles.
My brother's pet red eared slider turtle greeted us when we came home (by swimming against the side of her tank) and tells him when his front door pops open (by loudly bumping against her tank). They're smarter than one would think!
funny enough turtles/tortoises r remarkably fast. when i used to take my childhood one in the front to explore , i wasnt even able to take my eyes off her bc she would be across the yard under the fence in mere minutes
I know exactly what you mean when viewing a planet through a telescope with your own eyes. My grandfather was big into astronomy and he had a very nice telescope. I remember seeing Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn and just feeling…. So incredibly tiny and I had these indescribable feelings, that like everything is so big and vast. It’s hard to explain but it’s an amazing and scary feeling. Even got to see haileys comet through that telescope and that was even crazier and elicited a range of emotions and feelings I can’t begin to describe
When I saw that Chicago skyline picture it made me want to mention that Indiana Dunes is nice until you turn your head to look down the beach and see a massive steel plant with huge smoke stacks. Kind of makes you feel like the water you're swimming in is radioactive (and it probably is).
i love putting on 4 sweat shirts, 3 pairs of pants, 2 hats, gloves and a trench coat and going out in crazy storms. leaning into the wind and letting it support your entire bodyweight is an experience everyone should have. it the absolute best thing ever
okay....but, seriously...while its not a completely normal thing for all turtles to be affectionate, saying that was "no where close to normal behavior" to the point that *biologists have reached out to me*..is abit laughable....people really need to have more pets to see this kind of behavior.

3:44 I have a white Jeep and I call it color changing because it's near impossible to keep clean. The first year I had it there was a huge fire not that far away and my Jeep got covered in ash and looked silver then in the spring when there's a lot of pollen it turns a off yellow color and there's almost always some kind of mud on it. Last time I took it in for service they put down 'silver' as the color which cracked me up.
As much as I love the idea of a color-changing car, laws will probably prohibit it from actually being implemented especially since it'll be easier to avoid authorities on a car that can change colour, because while there are plates for easy identification, it's actually the model and colour of a vehicle that most people look out for.
I think a wolf can be your buddy pretty safely (if you're working at a wolf sanctuary or something where they're given enough space), it's trying to get it to participate in society around other people and dogs that doesn't work out as well.
