it's the side of gtr ownership that people dont know until you own one aint it? I feel the same way, i have a midnight purple r33 vspec in south africa and my friend has a white R34 Vspec 2 and he does not drive it at all for the same reasons, i atleast take mine out every weekend.

That's a lovely example and 450bhp is perfect power for our roads, it's nice to ring the cars neck for longer without it all being over in a flash.
Plus rural country roads are our test track and you dont need stupid power thrashing them to feel like you are going warp speed 8-]
