I worked in the Industry for many years and was on many series sets. I have to agree with Mr. Shatner. The only person who is hurt by hate is the hater and it seems sad that Mr. Takei felt the need to continue this one sided feud for years. Working an hour series is very, very hard work - with 14-16 hour days not uncommon. If Mr. Shatner was not charming. If he was rude at times, he had a lot to contend with and was the main person to be blamed by audiences if the show wasn't good. In addition, the shows' writing wasn't always up to par especially during the last year. Whatever happened on the set is what happened on the set. Time for all to move on.
He is. He's a liar as well. He claimed on video that he did and he didn't invite Shatner to his wedding. He has taken it upon himself to bring Bill's reputation down from some grip he had with him 50 yrs ago. No other cast member does this. Takei grips about his family being put in to American camps back during World War II yet in another prior interview he spoke on it but said he recalled that time as fun and adventurous. He said that he was too young to know what was happening and that he had good memories. Only since he became an activist has he changed his story.

Takei has no beef with Shatner. He's just milking his minor role for all he can, and he's successful at it. Proof: I am typing this here 55 years after Takei had a minor role on Star Trek.

@@loot6 Yes I haven't been able to find it either. But yes it was on Shatner's Raw Nerve. Basically Koenig blamed himself for never having the balls to bring it up with Shatner back then. But here Shatner states that he was deep into his work memorizing his lines from day to day and that the minor cast was only there one day a week. So he never took the time to get to know them.

Here's Bill trying to rewrite history. The cast of the original Star Trek were unanimous in their feelings toward Shatner. So not only Takai had issues, see Shatner's Raw Nerve interview with Walter Koenig where he delivers the bad news face to face on Shatner's treatment of the other actors. Even Leonard Nimoy stopped talking to him.
Love Shatner. No one knows why Nimoy stopped talking to Shatner. Billy Blackburn, a cast member like Takei and the others, said Shatner was a wonderful person back then.

It's because Nimoy didn't want to be in Shatner's documentary so Shatner went behind Nimoy's back and filmed him surreptitiously at a Trek convention includding that footage in his documentary. Nimoy was offended and never spoke to him again. Shatner is embarrassed to tell the truth.
If you listen to Nichelle talk about that kiss they had it really doesn't seem like there were any issues. Leonard and him were friends until about the last 2 years of his life, so that's a bit of a stretch too.

I thought the interview Shatner did with Koenig was interesting. They touched on the gripes the minor cast had with him.
I really want to watch that but I can't find it anywhere. It's Shatner's Raw Nerve right? Literally no way to watch it anymore..

@@jesse2d According to Adam Nimoy-Leonard Nimoy's son-his dad gave him the cold shoulder as well! So I think Leonard had much darker issues.
