Um.... what? 😂 that is some A+ Gaslighting if I've ever seen it. Ferris is a narcissist at best, a sociopath at worst. He did this for *himself*. If he did it for Cameron... hed have accepted some responsibility for the car. If Cameron is, hypotherically... shot dead by his dad for the car... I have no reason to believe Ferris would feel guilt for putting him in that situation in the first place.
@@DanJackson1977 I may be a little late to this, however I disagree with your interpretation. If you listen closely whenever Ferris is talking about Cameron to the audience you'll notice that.. ..He is very aware of how bad Camerons home life is. ..He is very aware of how wound-up Cameron is. ...He Cares deeply about Cameron and is worried about what happens when they are split up by college. ..He is taking a practical approach to try and show Cameron that life can be more than he believes he's stuck with. Even Mia's character realises what Ferris is trying to do when she says he knew exactly what he was doing from the start. Bear in mind, Ferris is universally loved by pretty much the entire city. He got this way through charm and a fair bit of luck for sure.... but there are also telling examples of him going out of his way to help his fellow students (the summer-camp guy for example). He may be a very intelligent and charismatic "chancer", but he does not seem to screw anyone over (with the possible exception of his sister, though that's not just his fault). The whole point of this movie is a guy taking the chance to help out a friend that is seemingly ignored by everyone else, including his own parents, and is obviously on the verge of a full breakdown (and we all know the various horrible ways that kind of stuff can go bad). Oh, and in case you missed it, he immediately offers to take full responsibility for the car even though he is well aware of the trouble he'd be in. His line to Cameron of " you can't take this kind of heat" is telling.
I remember when I was in grade school I pretended to be sick. My mom was a nurse and she knew I wasn’t but my dad insisted that I was. When my mom left for work, my dad turned me and said I know you’re not sick he said that’s OK. We’re gonna watch a movie and we watched Ferris Bueller’s Day off.
My dad would have yelled at me and had me at the kitchen table studying all day until 9 in the evening and then sent me to bed. I wish I could say I did something "bad" that was memorable, but I didn't want to get hit or screamed at. I wasn't even allowed to have friends. If I had someone over, it had to be for school and he had to supervise. He went on disability when I was 12 even though he didn't have to. My mom got sent to work. I had bad role models. I wished I could have been like Ferris.
1. Alan Ruck was 29 when filming. 2. Charlie Sheen didn't sleep for 48 hours prior to his scene to get into character, 3. Ah, the days when MTV played videos. 4. My fave Hughes film. As far as skipping, I can only think of one time I did that, that my mom didn't give her okay for. I had to walk to school and what I did was I left and then waited in the apartment complex laundromat nearby for an hour, until I knew my mom had left. Then I went back home and spent the day there cuz I just needed a day off away from school. Then, around the time I knew my mom was gonna be coming home from work, I just repeated the same thing. Waited in the laundromat, then came back home around the time I usually do from school. Some schools it's harder to get away with that cuz they call the parent with an automated message to let them know their kid was absent, and from which classes that day. Though at the other school I went to that did that, some kids were smart and got around that, by claiming their cell number was their parents on the contact form. 😅
I had never noticed the mistake at the end with the bus. You'll notice the sidewalk is far away from the curb as Rooney walks towards the bus. You can even see the curb is at a distance through the window when Rooney sits down inside. When the bus drives away, the sidewalk is now right next to the bus.
Been following you ladies for a while, you are fun and it's awesome you do this together. My only suggestion is maybe consider upgrading your audio recording equipment? I think it would serve you well. In any case, keep up the great work👍

Ferris was trying to help Cameron, the whole day was for him, he knew he was suicidal and needed to show him how to let go and just live.

You probably already know, but did you know Matthew broderick's father was James Broderick, the father on the television show Family back in the 70's
It’s always a pleasure watching you three crack up 😂👍🏼
Ferris is a righteous dude!

you would think rooney would want him out of the school as fast as possible. not keep him for another year to influence more students
