It's like when Giorno took over the Passioné gang in Italy. Halting the flow of drugs would definitely spark some angry responses in the gang members if they don't get their money off the drug-selling.

Boba "Vader has me on speed dial" Fett being a good guy and leader is a hilariously stupid idea. He could have at least had an arc from baddie to good guy like Jamie Lannister or something similar.
Also, what is with him getting beaten up by women or saved by them every episode?

That isn't fair. Canonically, the power rangers are incredibly powerful despite looking like clowns. Even if some of them would bring pistols to warfare, they also bring giant fighting robots and the equivalent of superpowers. The Mod Kids overweighted scooters and holdout blasters.

His biggest mistake was definitely trusting the other Gang Members. His logic that they wouldn't join the Pykes because they don't want them taking over kinda makes sense but is also flawed. These guys where already followers of the Hutts so would following the Pykes be much different.

Boba should’ve kidnapped or threatened someone close to the Gang members so that they would actually stay put and not take the Pykes money.

Boba Fett was playing a game that no one else agreed to play. Mike Tyson needs into the biggest house on your block and then walks around telling everybody he's the neighborhood coordinator and he hands you a list of rules. I know that even though Tyson is in his 50s I still wouldn't want to fight him for no reason, but if he tells me that I don't have to follow his rules and there will be no consequence for it then I'm just going to do my own thing. Fett didn't even offer any benefits to being allied or even neutral with him. Sure, he says everyone gets to make money, then he goes about trying to remove the largest source of income for all of the gangs.

    • @LukasJampen
      @LukasJampen ปีที่แล้ว

He also actively fucks you over because of the word of some street punks without listening to your pov. They can drive scooters that look pristine and afford all kind mods but can't afford water? Also if only that guy was raising waterprices people would all buy it from others and if they all do it, the problem isn't fixed at all. Even worse he then recruits those punks.

    Agreed Ben!
Boba Fett must have learned or experienced something from the many wars he has attended over the years as a Mandalorian. They're an armored fighting force.
Tank designs are a balance of heavy firepower. He knew this one!
    Small Tips:
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.”
“If enemy forces are united, separate them.” (Darth Sidious)
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” (Darth Sidious)
“The whole secret lies in confusing the enemy so that he cannot fathom our real intent.” (Darth Sidious)
“Attack is the secret of defense; defense is the planning of an attack.” (Darth Sidious)

In '77 some friends and I saw a movie called "Star Wars" and we started talking about what was good, what was bad, and what should have been. And we haven't stopped since.
I think what I'm trying to say is, it's great to discuss, to challenge, even to disagree; but don't loose sight of how awesome it is to have this juggernaut called Star Wars.
And as always, thank you so very much for the video.

  • @matthewharr6881

Boba was operating on a limited time frame so assembling the forces he need in the time frame he had might not have before possible. And I don't think he really made any mistakes, to quote the art of war "appear weak when you are strong and strong when you are weak" I thought he was using a bait and wait strategy with the other gangs. No plan ever works completely like you want I doubt he saw all the gangs turning on him or maybe he did. He knew he was fighting an up hill battle from the start.
As for fixing the areas Prosperity that takes a while he looked liked he was there for at most maybe a few months minimum not a lot of time to fix things up.
Boba looked like he was trying to find those who would be loyal to him first, reliable luteniants, building an empire takes time, given all that was against him I thought he did pretty well. And in one battle he managed to gain complete control over city and gain the people's faith and loyalty.
I'd say he's adapting his plans as needed and using what he got very well just because something look like it's weak or a mistake doesn't mean it is that the key to deception. I saw him pullout what he need when he needed it.
The rancor had a huge intimation factor and long term psychological effects on his enemies, in his fight with Bane he waited until he was close, Bane's a crack shot and fast on the draw but in most fights I've seen him in unless he catches you off guard in close combat he tends to lose in melee with other experienced fighters.

The art of war might be correct but Boba appeared weak and was weak. He was a shit ruler, he should know how those gangs work but for some reason he thinks they are loyal when he shows nothing they should be loyal for.
He acts like a complete moron. Also to fight in the city instead of fighting at the palace was dumb. He is supposed to protect the city but instead of keeping the fight away from it or his force consolidated he split them up for easy pickings. And if the ambushers weren't retarded and had actual laser weapons they would all have died.

The guy that was actually in charge of reducing inflation was appointed by Carter… not Reagan, and in fact the recessions seen at the end of Carters run were necessary to defeat the causes of inflation that Carter had inherited…. Reagan then inherited Carter’s good work. Also the giant leap of most manufacturing jobs in the US to other countries was caused by Reagan era policies…. Reagan wasn’t a hero, he ran the country in to a huge deficit with unchecked military spending and giving tax breaks to the rich… Trickle Down Economics absolutely doesn’t work and this has been proven time after time

First problem I observed with Boba is his philosophy "ruling through respect"; for me this is a cover up that he is afraid, anxious if he is a good person or not and those that have seen through this impersonation has taken advantage of it.
Second, he is a good middle person but a bad leader. I would even say that Fenec should be the daimyo rather than him; he even favors her opinions (which most of the time is right) to what decisions /actions to take because he himself is not well-versed/studied on the economy and social constructions of the place he wants rule upon.
Third, his experience with the Tusken isn't a "one size fits all" solution. He should be open minded of how different people think among each other. The stubbornness with his code and ridiculousness of his wants made him more enemies than allies.

I enjoyed the series however they did a classic law man cleaning up the west storyline when it should have been a mob boss origin story. Boba should have been ruthless in his dealings. The spice should have been shown to be destroying the planet. The pykes should have gotten the sand people addicted to spice, which would have been his motivation for ousting them. The one action that showed he was a moron was sitting the crime bosses down at a table and telling them that they had to stop selling and shipping spice, the thing that made them all their money. Why would they do that?! They are already in bed with the Pykes and making a lot of cash in doing so whereas Boba offers them nothing but a loss to their bottom lines and then he is shocked they betrayed him? This is NOT the Boba we know from the original movies and all the novels and computer games that came out with him in them. @@GRIGGINS1 Absolutely their betrayal got them killed, but look at it from their POV. On one hand there's Fett, with a dozen people on his side, half of them kids with scooters and yeah, ok, a Rancor. But the Rancor is in the pit beneath the palace so they only had to fear that if they got caught by Boba. Then on the other hand there's the Pyke Syndicate, a powerful criminal organisation which has put money into their pockets for years and has a huge powerbase to call on for troops. Even with all that, he could have used his forces more efficiently. He knew the war with the Pike Syndicate was coming. He could have assassinated the groups of Pikes shortly after they had arrived. He could have made it look like it had been sone by other groups. While this smokescreen would have been pretty thin, he might have discovered the war machines and taken them out or over and Cad Bane's presence might not have been a surprise or the betrayal for that matter. Anyway, it would have weakened the Pikes presence on Tattoine and prolonged the build-up, giving him more time to hire mercenaries off-world. If not, the Pikes would have had fewer forces for their attack and locals might have supported them less.
Of course having one or more groups of Pikes arrive dead might have make some people think twice about attacking him.
And let's not forget. This wasn't the war against the Pikes. This was just the first skirmish. They could be back in a month with a thousand men. And then what?

  • @leaaronsanchez

Falling down that pit must have really wavered his brain. Everything he did was stupid, he's supposed to be control of the crime economy of mos espo & of Tantoonie but really he had no control over anything. He's supposed to be protecting his criminal elements, but he couldn't even protect the sanctuary, his little band of allies, or himself. They had no real fighting force and even the other crime Lords didn't even help. So that means in their eyes he was just weak and they waited for his replacement. And it was so odd that the Hutts, who controls most of the crime economy in the galaxy, they really didn't try to take over the void that Jabba's death created. In the way Boba operated, they could have talked it over everything without him even knowing it thing. His character is far different from his displayed in Empire Strikes Back.

He thinks it's just about killing the last guy that was in charge and 'protection' what ever that means. And, yes he did shake up all the big players like the water guy and the other families. In fact, I wonder why he thought he was in charge. Looks to me like the Mayor, the other families and everyone was happy with the pikes running spice. Even the tuscans largely kept to themselves. To me, Boba acted a bit like a teenager that does not understand how the world works but wants to change the world in the way they see fit.

Dare to say - Has Boba Fett been overhyped to beyond the stars by the SW fan base considering we never had much lore about him

Why do you keep talking about "Mandalorian"? Boba Fett is not and has never been a Mandalorian.
