Jayson Tatum is trash - not a good fit for team USA at all. Doesn’t have the confidence in shooting, just doesn’t play with intensity on the court. And looking like he plays 60-70% out there all the time. You should be giving 110% effort. He doesn’t do that. This guy has a lot of ego. If I was Steve Kerr I would bench this guy too. I Think one of the reasons why Tatum, Book and others ain’t been more iconic is because they dont have their own Brand of basketball, its because they are in the shadow of the “MAMBA MENTALITY”, their Light has been over shadowed or deemed as “Kobe’’s Apprentice”,.If they want to be succesful and be respected they should create their own Brand/Signature of Basketball. As NEWTON said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”.
should've gotten AD's minutes in 2nd quarter after 2 fouls and Ant's minutes in the 2nd half. they were down 13 at the end of 3Q meaning the groups fielded didn't work. i think the coaches view him mostly as a 3 that they want to run around screens of serbia (like ant) - which he's not too good at. and on offense he hasn't had any rhythm at all with any lineup.
The Olympics is not a regular NBA game. You picked the best people to win. Then just pick your best six and have some fillers that’s not NBA stars that’s total disrespect what Steve Kerr did and that’s why I never acknowledge him as a real coach anyway.
Tatum should go home if he can’t help the team, just a waste of his time. He isn’t some rookie or college player. He is one of the best small forwards in his prime and treated like a bum.
He is basically saying Steph is use to receiving multiple touches all game he hasn’t been getting those all Olympics so he has had to adjust to find his rhythm kd and lebron have had the ball probably the same amount that they have had it on their nba teams so they are the only ones playing the same roles they’ve played in the nba he isn’t talking about performance or level of greatness

Many people thought JTshould have been the. MVP of the championships, but JB got tabbed for things that not everybody looks at. Steph Curry has been in the league 8 more years than Tatum and yet he was in his first olympics... And it's not because he was a development in progress. Steve Kerr is the pic that they pick for Coach. He is not the fit for Coach. He’s really not coaching the team by himself. He has a player coach on the Floor doing a good job and I think LeBron has more say so over who’s on the floor then Kerr
If I was Jayson I'd be happy to be benched during the Olympics with all my rivals playing and wearing themselves out and potentially getting injured before the next NBA season starts when Jayson will be defending a title... Besides the olympics don't really mean anything compared to a back championship!!!
*At the risk of losing the game Kerr would rather stick to his guns and not play Tatum. Rather than inserting Tatum and proving himself wrong. And honestly, Ant Edwards could be the leader in 2028, it wouldn't shock me. The US always has an influx of new young talent literally every year, so you never know who will make the jump up by that point in time. We'll probably have Paolo Banchero, Cooper Flagg, guys like that along with Tatum, Ant Edwards, maybe Jalen Brunson, Haliburton, etc. The talent will still be there for sure, and they will all have more experience. Tatum is already 27. And I wouldn't call him the best young player, he's one of them, but I don't think he's the best.
Noah said it very well
Couldn't even find five minutes for JT?
He found almost 7 for Derrick White LOL

That's barely enough time to warm your legs up 🤣
Ya'll just bobble heads at this point. This dude just played how many games, how many minutes in winning a chip? I am pretty sure, he is ok, letting more fresh legs get the work. If he smart, he taking notes and can capitalize on knowledge being near players.
You can't tell me the dudes pride isn't hurt. Everyone forgets, players are human just like us. And no player of that caliber, giving up a good portion of his summer, is cool with that. As far as Embid, he's lazy and never wants to play anyway. And Haliburton was just happy to be there.

Tatum is a champ !!! He should play !!!
Three of the best coaches in NBA had to craft a plan to Win, that plan de-emphasized JT. The level of his play specifically in this Olympics made him an unreliable choice in a no tomorrow situation. JE previously played poorly but his size was not replicable and needed for Jokic. Steph previously played poorly but his shooting was immediately present and it's Steph. JT's skill set's are replicable on this team particularly when he's not sharp.

As a c's fan, I agree. More motivation for next season.

Tatum is coming off an extended season, then you ask him to play for another month during the offseason, then a month later back to the regular season, that’s a lot. Tatum should have packed his bag after playing zero minutes the first time and said he was injured.
Him not playing is everything wrong with this country
There’s different factors that maybe at play here, did Tatum want to play in the Olympics, was he able to create chemistry with the other players and coaches was Steve Kerr told to restrict his minutes by the Boston Celtics because Tatum just came off a grueling NBA championship run, people forget these players are worth millions and if they get hurt there goes season revenues.
They went for political answers not real answers. They don't want to be blackballed from team USA.
The argument ‘the goal is to win a gold’ as the reason to not play Tatum is void of all logic. That’s saying: Tatum is not the best option to give us gold, Derrick White is. That simply isn’t true. I keep hearing thoughtless voice after thoughtless voice repeating that nonsense.
It’s not Tatum vs Dwhite. Tatum is better than literally everyone in the team besides Lebron, Curry, and KD. Put Booker and Ant on the bench not Tatum

The entire bench is better than the starters 🤣🤣🤣. The starters get ran through every game 🤦🏽♂️
who would you take out of the team for Tatum?
Jayson Tatum is trash - not a good fit for team USA at all. Doesn’t have the confidence in shooting, just doesn’t play with intensity on the court. And looking like he plays 60-70% out there all the time. You should be giving 110% effort. He doesn’t do that. This guy has a lot of ego.
If I was Steve Kerr I would bench this guy too. There are wayyyy better guys in his position.

“I don’t know “ means fuck no
I Think one of the reasons why Tatum, Book and others ain’t been more iconic is because they dont have their own Brand of basketball, its because they are in the shadow of the “MAMBA MENTALITY”, their Light has been over shadowed or deemed as “Kobe’’s Apprentice”,.If they want to be succesful and be respected they should create their own Brand/Signature of Basketball.
Tatum💪🏆
It is all about winning the game! Not about someone was nba champion we don’t care when you select a coach you should let him do his job
Tatum should go home if he can’t help the team, just a waste of his time. He isn’t some rookie or college player. He is one of the best small forwards in his prime and treated like a bum.
When you say Lj and kd put Steph name to
He is basically saying Steph is use to receiving multiple touches all game he hasn’t been getting those all Olympics so he has had to adjust to find his rhythm kd and lebron have had the ball probably the same amount that they have had it on their nba teams so they are the only ones playing the same roles they’ve played in the nba he isn’t talking about performance or level of greatness
I remember years ago when Dominique Wilkins played on one of our international teams. He was emphatic about how no one should worry about playing time, its just about winning and nothing else mattered. He said this in an interview before the tournament. Well, turns out he didnt play much and was highly upset about it. He talked that noise early on because of his name and time in the league he thought he for sure would play a lot.
