Episode 1 was my first encounter with Kenshi, 170 hours of excellent gameplay later episode 2 is finally here :)

Hi I'm new, this was a very fun Kenshi Video
The fact that this game is more entertaining than most triple A titles and your storytelling outdoes most net-flix shows makes this whole series a masterpiece. It's hilarious how one or two genuine creators can outdo the highest budget studios when real passion and love are put into a project.
It's because normal people are not trying to push a certain ideology on everyone with their garbage games and tv shows that no one is interested in.
@player_unknown963 it's hardly just woke ideology when it comes to video games. 90% of recent Blizzard's problems are due to their greed and hubris.
Triple A Japanese games have some problems that hold them back as well, even without woke ideology. They have a lot of passion, hard work, and creativity put into them. But they're tunnel-focused on just a few game genres and will hardly ever try out anything else. JRPGs, visual novels, platformers, and fighting games. I've never seen a Japanese shooter, strategy game, procedural generation, or Western-style RPG with open story and character creation like Kenshi.
Japanese games don't suck like recent Western games. But they're very limited and follow just a few cliche tropes. Which isn't a problem of wokeness, but partly their culture and partly greed that demands developing only products that are guaranteed to sell well due to already established audience in Japan.
I think it boils down to creators making a game they want to play themselves, vs big companies making a game that they want to market to a specific group. Instead of just getting the game to "good enough to ship" status, Chris Hunt made the game as close to what he wanted to play as possible, and since there was no bullshit corporate oversight/intervention, he was able to include ideas and features that corporate executives may have balked at -- the very same features that make this game so compelling to the people who love to play it, and make it so distinct from other games, even those in the same genre.
I'm so glad you introduced this game to me. I'm having a great time.
Also please make a part 3, I'm loving your storytelling and humor.
I'm a software developer who makes games on my free time, worked for 6 years on my last one and already planning the next, I can't express how valuable this series is for us who aim to bring good quality and joy to the world, keep on doing more please!

Its great to see more people discovering kenshi. I've got around 800 hours in it and still haven't seen every part of the map

Your story telling skills are fantastic, I enjoyed every second of this.
I love how you show us one of Shem's defining features without mentioning it. I didn't know what those were for the longest time when I was playing, only that the robots in my party cursed "The other one" for this bane.
I also hope your masterful storytelling and sales pitch/tutorial series encourages more people to pick up this game and tell their own tales. Kenshi is a fantastic story generator.

Kenshi is the video game equivalent of the Mona Lisa. Incredible experience to play and even just learn about the lore. Natalie Hunt also deserves tons of credit for writing most of it because it is as much a masterpiece as the gameplay. I could rave about this game endlessly, I absolutely adore it.

Please do continue the series. When you reach mid game you can start making a base and explain how the game can switch from RPG to an RTS (only if you want to though).

Kenshis one of those games where the grindy start can be a rough introduction but if you stick it out and just let the world happen the bad and good it can be a very rewarding storyteller.

After seeing part 1, bought Kenshi when it happened to be on sale at the time. I wanna say its been hard but fun so far. :) "Making my own fun is a new thing for me but i like the idea of rping my characters having actual motivations and a story
"you could've just gone down the road to the Hub", as I screamed the same at the last video. Also, I've seen a few of your videos over the last couple of weeks but the Kenshi one made me pay attention (it's one of my favourites; probably my favourite game) but this part 2 is joy. I used to get drunk and read my dog whatever novel I was reading, doing all the voices. Good times. Same.

Your video got me back to Kenshi, my Schorchlander Evelyn, recently got into the Shinobi Guild through mining, looting corpses and vagrants and selling unconscious people to slavery.
Eager to make her into some lethal martial artist.
For some context on the world of kenshi and on how deep it's lore is, i recommend you prepare a mighty squad and try to venture into the mythical Ashlands. It's said, there's immeasurable riches hidden in it's depths... but beware, the path is dangerous, and none have gone to and back from it safely, aside 1 group of people.
Just brace yourself for any horror you might encounter on your way...
