Cannibals are also the Second Empire's fault if I recall correctly. The Head of Agriculture was so fucking incompetent humans had to eat each other to survive
The famine occurred towards the tail end of the Second Empire and the cannibals predate it. Cannibals have likely been around for far longer possibly being descended from Chaos Age humans and being mutated from toxic poisoning of the water and soil from the old labs in the north such as the skeleton factory in the floodlands. What the Second Empire can be blamed for is not wiping them out however
I've always liked that whatever faction you side with, they're all pretty awful with their ideals. No one is saint-like (guess you could put the anti-slavers as saints) or heavily textbook evil.
cannibal hunters, nomads and deadcats are practically the only good guys. machinists are also good, but tech hunters can work under their own influence and i think some attack you in a certain region(s?). the other 3 factions don't do that
It makes sense considering the environment on itself is so brutal, they need to be ruthless and hard, otherwise potential rivals could see them as weak and try to destroy them or take their already scarce resources

Well now i gotta explore and find these people. I just randomly found the dust kings tower and the black dragon ninja tower. Had Dimak chase me alone for some reason all the way across the zone into Okrans pride where my base was. Kept shooting her and running then my pack bull Horny showed up and absolutely wrecked her in one hit.
Kenshi has a banking system that we did not know lol I just noticed that characters can sale stuff at one place and also have it at the other I send a bull all the time to sale circuits and copper when we need to buy food or ammunition
Do you have your sources for some of this? Mostly curious if any in game mention of the origins of the shek as humans and other possible bio-engineering

I put dates wherever I could, but unfortunately there isn't much specific info in the games. So if there is no date it's because there is no date given in the lore. But even so I still I tried to put it all in chronological order.

Honestly having all the factions be massive pricks really makes the game fun. Brutality is entertaining.
