I've been doing this, and it's the easiest and cheapest diaper out there!

Easy, for sure! What type of fabric(s) did you use?

I would be interested in a review on the flappy nappy you mentioned!

Are you thinking of making stretchy flats?

Hi Heidi! I’d love to know what you prefer about this particular jersey fabric over the flats you’ve purchased.
    Thanks!!

It’s a nice thickness (thicker than the others so also more absorbent) and also a nice smooth texture.

On the one you have been using for a while, did you finish the edges at all?

No, I didn’t finish the edges on any of my DIY flats. They’ve held up just fine. 💜 Heidi

Are flats difficult to clean the poop off of once they stop breastfeeding?

I think flats are relatively easy to clean once they start eating solids, since the flat is just one layer of fabric. We often used flats pad folded inside the pocket of Bebeboo GROW trainers, so only the pocket portion needed to be sprayed off (similar to a pocket diaper).
I also heard a trick recently with origami fold, to flip it over after folding, so it's one continuous piece against Baby, instead of lots of folds where poop could get stuck. 💜 Heidi
