The video and sound quality for your videos haven't always been the best, but they've always felt like perfect videos to me. I feel that it adds a major sense of "independent" and "underground" status to your work. Anyone hating on the quality of your videos is missing the big picture; kill 'em all.
Thanks! In times where programmed drums or triggering and quantizing are common in album productions I think it is important to show that even a good drummer normally does not sound as perfect as this kind of albums suggest. Especially as a beginner it can be very frustrating to listen to overproduced stuff if you don't have a clue of all the studio magic that went into it. And that is why I like to keep it "honest" ;)
but your accuracy is awesome. I love to play this too with drums but i hardly can do this this exact. Dimmu's beats are basicaly "simple" (except speed) but the huge variance of timings, beat-intensity etc... makes it hard for me to keep all the details in mind. .. how is it at your level? I mean.. at songs where all timings fit to my playstile and that i know by heart i don't need training b4 actualy, but they are in general more simple. Like the "for all tid"-songs for example. btw: I'd love to see you "trying" reptile xD
Actually drumcovers are very difficult for me because it forces me to do things that I was not good at before. In this song for example there is this 6/8th note blast beat with the closed HiHat that opens every three hits - it is stupid how much time I had to spend to get that down! The coordination just didn't work. But this way I get better at learning things effectively ;)
What is sad is Wanja covers Dimmu Borgir and only gets 5k views--Brooke C covers Tool and everyone loses thier fucking minds,; giving her 4.4m views. This world is coming to an end.
I guess for most non-drummers it is more enjoyable to watch a good looking female doing medium stuff than watching a male doing harder stuff. Also female drummers are much more rare than male drummers (which is a shame!). I have often asked myself how many subs I would have if I were female and had the same skill as I have now :D However there are also female drummers who are extremely skilled and who really deserve the attention like e.g. Anika Nilles.
I play Cahon in a blues/rock/singer-songwriter band and drums in a more rock orientated band. For example like this: th-cam.com/video/pBRp_YjBaTA/w-d-xo.html
Amazing.... Bro a question... May sound like irrelevant... But i want to know how do we tune the snare to sound like that... I tried making it too tight... But it doesn't sound like thesw
Honestly I don't really know! I only know that in most cases it sounds good to have the resonant head pretty tight and then just experiment with the batter head until it sounds good. In this case the snare also sounds a bit different than in reality because of the mixing.
Hey, man, your technique of playing drums is really very high. You can easily play difficult material. I like watching your videos, as in them I find out for myself something new and useful. And, by the way, I would very much like to see your drum cover on Fleshgod apocalypse - Violation. So, you are a good drummer. Like:)
The double bass in that song is still a bit too fast for me ;) I can do 260bpm but not for long enough and also not precise enough but I'm working on it!
Wooow, amazing drumming man! How can a human play this ? lol You are amazing drummer, keep rocking. Are those double strokes on the paddle or just singles?
He does. He said on another video comment why. I think the reason was because its easier to record. Also he told me he dont correct the beats. Only if there are ghost notes from the trigger.
Good job man good job. I need a drum chair with a back brace to lean on to get the douples even close, though my technique is shit and I know it. But anyway, awesome cover!
Tight playing bro! Holy shit, is there any song that you cannot play? Plans to cover Behemoth soon? Ov fire and void? At the left hand ov god? I know you dig Behemoth Greetings and cheers from your biggest fan from finland!
That sucks i would love to see you cover this song, i love your drumming and flawless technique its amazing i am in the process of learning it. i do hope you will cover it someday, i know you can.
@@extremeanalogmusic6296 Cause people are retarded. These are the same people who listen to these new "djent" band and assume Meshuggah are the same type.
I find that you had the triggers too bright on this one it kind of defeats the purpose of a bass drum if it's not BASS and is your brightest drum that honor should go to your eight inch tom byt still great cover love this song
That's a bit too fast on double bass for me - and as far as I know even Pete himself plays only 8th note triplets live instead of the 16th notes that are on the album.
allehelgens død i helveds rike would have been a good choice. I hope you listen to the full song, it's one of my favorites. If you would like to show off some technical skill, indoctrination would be a better choice. It's from the album puritanical euphoric misanthropia.
I have watched your video some weeks ago :D Really good cover! My first instrument that I learned was actually the piano and although I don't play it anymore I like to watch some piano videos from time to time ;)
It needs to be that loud to overpower the original drums in the song. It would sound very confusing it you could hear both my bass drum and the original because I am not THAT precise that every hit lies exactly on top of the original hit.
I had done it once but it actually sounded very bad - so I decided to not do it anymore. I think the whole point of a drumcover is not to sound as good as possible but to show that I can play that song.

Awesome drumming!!! I like the trigger sound, they grew on me over the years.
3:29 I find that blast beat, exactly where it's placed in the song, is so tasteful.
Couldn´t even handle simple 4/4 on drums and coordination.....my respect to you as musician! I admire People who can do those Things.
this is all 4/4
Just finding this video 5 years after you made it lol. Better late than never! What a great job!
Das Cover ist Spot-On! Einer meiner Lieblingssongs von Dimmu Borgir.
Gosto muito de ver tocar!! Muito show!!! Aprendo também!!
Drumcovers look like a walk in a park for you!! We need more music!! :D

Thanks for the answer!! Learning other man's song is hard indeed! And as you said note by note covers are very beneficial :)
Outstanding! As always.

I wanna play the drum like you!!!! you are so fcking good at it, SO AWESOME!!!!
Thanks! Practise a lot and you will also be able to pull something like that off in the future! :)
Great cover! By the way, I don't see/hear any problem with the triggers. Maybe the problem doesn't come from the source... Keep bringing those covers!
just out of curiosity, do you play any other music genres apart from metal aslwell? :)
I play Cahon in a blues/rock/singer-songwriter band and drums in a more rock orientated band. For example like this: th-cam.com/video/pBRp_YjBaTA/w-d-xo.html

Klingt toll :)
Danke!

Wooow, amazing drumming man! How can a human play this ? lol You are amazing drummer, keep rocking. Are those double strokes on the paddle or just singles?
Single strokes! For more info about my foot technique check out my tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/tNg_9b8FBhA/w-d-xo.html
So sick dude! Just wanted to know if you're using triggers here?
He does. He said on another video comment why. I think the reason was because its easier to record.
Also he told me he dont correct the beats. Only if there are ghost notes from the trigger.
Ah i see
Holy shit this is better than the original :D
Omgg awesome, fuck hell yeah!!
would love to see you covering imperial circus dead decadence
Good job man good job. I need a drum chair with a back brace to lean on to get the douples even close, though my technique is shit and I know it. But anyway, awesome cover!

Check this: th-cam.com/video/OxXaLPEJfyw/w-d-xo.html
Tight playing bro! Holy shit, is there any song that you cannot play?

Greetings and cheers from your biggest fan from finland!
that double bass gave me a nosebleed. Jesus thats fast
hey man can you do a cover of bleed by meahuggah?
Many people have requested that but no - it would just take too much time to memorize all the parts. Maybe one day when I have nothing better to do :D
That sucks i would love to see you cover this song, i love your drumming and flawless technique its amazing i am in the process of learning it. i do hope you will cover it someday, i know you can.
meshuggah is so difficult to play...
And stiil people joke about 0-0-0-0-0-0 jokes haha
@@extremeanalogmusic6296 Cause people are retarded. These are the same people who listen to these new "djent" band and assume Meshuggah are the same type.
лайк!!! кпасавчик
I like Dimmu
Bitte bitte bitte bitte mache ein Drum Cover von 'Abbath - To war!' das wünsche ich mir schon seit ewigkeiten!:)
I find that you had the triggers too bright on this one it kind of defeats the purpose of a bass drum if it's not BASS and is your brightest drum that honor should go to your eight inch tom byt still great cover love this song
your a fucking monster bro! kudos
bro you gotta do "opening of the gates" by Morbid Angel. there is still not one legitimate cover of that song.
That's a bit too fast on double bass for me - and as far as I know even Pete himself plays only 8th note triplets live instead of the 16th notes that are on the album.
Wanja [Nechtan] Gröger I can't even find a time where they even played to song live but if there was any drummer who could get it's you bub.
came for the thumbnail

3:58 Я понял, что в самый эпический и решающий момент барабанщик нихуя не делает))

Matts D what do you care how his hair is looking?
I don't care dude.
hahahahahahahah....boom blast👿👹
Только бочку слышно
amazing! I made piano cover of this song. we can mix them together! :)
I have watched your video some weeks ago :D Really good cover!
My first instrument that I learned was actually the piano and although I don't play it anymore I like to watch some piano videos from time to time ;)
ah nice! but why!!! you should play it;s fun haah
I just lacked the motivation to become good at it and instead I found that kind of fire in drumming ;)
Great drumming, but FUCK.. those triggers sounds fucking awful. Way too loud.
It needs to be that loud to overpower the original drums in the song. It would sound very confusing it you could hear both my bass drum and the original because I am not THAT precise that every hit lies exactly on top of the original hit.
Ah, ok.. Never really listened to Dimmy so I wouldn't know.
Thanks for responding - take care.
Dude, but isnt there version of song without drums line?
P.S. Great bass playing
Do you also EQ the original track to take out as much of the drums as possible?
I had done it once but it actually sounded very bad - so I decided to not do it anymore. I think the whole point of a drumcover is not to sound as good as possible but to show that I can play that song.
L
One of my favourite drummers, but i don't like pop-music.
