Hi Kat, I really enjoy your videos just because they examplify how productive I would like my notion to be like. I don't know if you've done this already, but maybe show us how to create some of these templates especially the ones that are automated. I know you show how it's done, but maybe create one from scratch with the principles you teach so we see how it's applied. I currently use a template but it's not automated and I'd really really love to automate it.

Hey Stella, I get ya! I’ll keep that in mind for a future video, but for now I would definitely encourage you to check out my “Notion for Productivity” video. I cover the idea of creating a workflow within Notion that feels easy to use! 🙌 th-cam.com/video/75SrfLcipo4/w-d-xo.html

This is a nice theoretical overview of Notion databases - it would be useful if you could do a video where you actually build a simple template to accomplish some practical task using databases. Something not too simple but not too complex. Go easy on us - LOL

I’ll definitely keep this in mind! It’s important to know the theory so you can apply it going forward 😉

Thank you for sharing! I'm getting ready to purchase your template and excited to see more! Will they be linked to the current template or separate we can add on? Should I wait to purchase?

Great question! I’m planning to have an “all-in-one” template that will include finance, meal planning, and a trip planner portion along with what I’ve already got in the shop! However, my goal is to also have these available as add-ons with some instructions on how to link them to the daily overview widget if you want to. I’m hoping to have these ready to go within the next month!

@@itskatwaugh Great! I did go ahead and purchase the template and so glad I did! I've never felt so more in control. I've wasted so much money on templates that were over complicated and didn't really show HOW to use it. I really appreciate how yours is a system that is simple and easy to follow. I could immediately put it into action, which others have took days just to figure out how to use it. LOL! Now I'm not so patiently waiting to see how you organize your buckets of life/pages. I have them on my dashboard but struggling to see how they should be organized. Any sneak peeks??

@@BridgettEdwards Awesome! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!
I would love to know how you define your buckets of life so I can best answer your question! If I’m understanding correctly, I tend to keep all my work/cleaning/home tasks in one place (the tasks table) and if I feel like I need to segment things down farther I will create a filtered view of that database. When it comes to things like meal planning or finances, if there’s any information that I may need on the day-to-day I try to incorporate that information from those pages into my daily overview page!
My goal with Notion is always to keep the information I need each day at my fingertips so I’m minimizing the time I’m spending moving around within Notion and spending more of my time actually doing the tasks I need to! Which is why I love the daily overview page. 😁
I can definitely make a separate video on this topic! If that didn’t quite answer your question, let me know so I can plan my video accordingly! 🫶

@@itskatwaugh Maybe I'm overcomplicating things (which I'm notorious for!) I have my 9-5 job, side hustle, on my kid's booster club executive board and then home/personal. My thought was to have each of those buckets or areas as it's own page with filtered views of tasks pertaining to those areas along with resources like notes, links, etc. Hope that helps!

@@BridgettEdwards okay gotcha. I can certainly address when I do choose to make pages vs when I don’t. But I totally get you! I started out by making separate pages for a lot of my things too. So much of it depends on your organizational style, but I personally just found myself feeling disorganized by having so many different pages/places to find my information. Which is how I ended up with the Productivity Planner! 🤪
I’ll be sure to prioritize creating an explanation video for this! 😊
