When you realize vasilys birthday was 2 months earlier and he was only 25, you will realize that he did not deserve that.
No one deserved that. The three men we blame didnt either.
a very late birthday surprise
@@Cappy_real the soviet Union was to blame
@@cosmoboy3910 Yep, soviet union fell victim to communism itself
@@Cappy_real and that put them down
Uncanny how similar some of the actors look with their real life counter part
Yup, only Shcherbina and Toptunov are different. Toptunov looked more mature in real life.
And the even paid attention to little details, like Dyatlovs clothes at the trial on screen are the same as his cloths at the trial in real life
Absolutely terrifying when you realise some are still alive. To those of us in the newer generations it seems so long ago. Looking at how recent some of these disasters are is astonishing
But there are fewer and fewer of them, for example, Viktor Bryukhanov recently died. Это грустно :(
Im born in 2000 but this does not seem very old. Thats for me the whole point of it.
It’s crazy that alexandar is still alive even that he was in the reactor hall
Firstly Alexksandr Yuvchenko is not alive, he died of cancer in 2008, secondly he didn’t enter the reactor hall; rather he held a door open for the three men that did, he received 410 rad in total.

I thought he died in there. At least, that's what they implied in the series. He could walk after holding the door for the other guys. Wasn't him the one that said "it's over"?
@@elric5371IT was only 2 men
@@Greaterakhanbarat in real life it was three. In the show it was 2.
It’s sad that they couldn’t recover the one worker from where he was. But it’s great where they made a memorial for him inside the plant
Rest In Peace under the reactor, Kodemchuk.
Ananenko and Bespalov are still alive.
With Baranov, They literally saved the world.
They really did send Sitnikov to his death...That's disgraceful
...Really
To spread disinformation,at times like this
Sitnikov was not forced he went there by his own decision
@@zidla8171
He was “forced” to do it.
Back then, he had to comply to the higher-ups. Something about how the USSR put pressure on the people to do their best. Else they get replaced and swept under the rug.
Akimov died 5 days after his birthday. Damn.
Respect to the heroes!
2 things that should never happen.
A repeat in nuclear disasters of this scale.
And forgetting those who sacrificed themselves to save the world. Even though we never knew them personally we are all grateful for doing what the did!
Mikhail Gorbachev passed away 30 August 2022

I watched the mini series because I was always aware of Chernobyl but if you asked me why I was wary of Chernobyl I couldn't tell you, we just knew it is a place of death. After watching the mini series I am now more aware and subsequently more afraid. Nuclear power is a god tier level technology, and it should be handled as much. Quite literally with great power comes great responsibility. Although a fatal lesson, it is a lesson the rest of the world hopefully has learned from and will do better, with such awesome access to this level of power, we must always be vigilant. ALWAYS.
Come on people Wikipedia does have some uses:
Gen. Nikolai Tarakanov (19 May 1934-) (age 87)
Viktor Bryukhanov (December 1, 1935 - October 13, 2021) (age 85)
Nikolai Fomin (1937-) (Age 84)
On October 12, Anatoly Dyatlov's wife died.
He posted this when Bryukhanov was still alive
1:50 pause it
Do you taste metal
Bryukhanov is 85 Years old
Good Video :)
And dead now, Died Oct. 13, 2021
Vladimir Pikalov died exactly on my birthday, I didn't know that until now. It is very sad and painful to experience this
Every victory comes at the cost.
Good video just one mistake Alexander yuvchenko died on 2008
I can't disagree with your statement, but I can say that after some research I haven't found enough information about his death or if he is still alive or not. It might be true. Anyway, thanks for your comment!
Yes, and he from prednystrovie and me too
It’s still insane how much longer after the disaster he survived. He was so close to the reactor
Bryukhanov died in Kiev at 13th October 2021.
He was born 1st December 1935.
THANK YOU! THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A VIDEO.
To be honest some of other videos have more views than yours but they are not that much perfect and informatic than yours....Keep it up👍👍
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Nice work 👍
you see photos pop up of common folk that look like celebrities, here are celebrities that look like common folk who were just doing their job, except well some (looking at you Dyatlov)
When you Realize some Of the dead we´re just men around 30 years old.
For anyone who wonders the song is called the sleeping prophet
General Nikolai Tarakanov's age is 88 today.
Dear heroes of the chernobyl
There's error in 2:50, Yuvchenko died in 2008 from leukemia. Wikipedia that
Retired General Nikolai Tarakanov is still alive. He's 90 (2024). He's also seen the series and there's a good interview with him about his thoughts on it.
They all look spot on, except for Leonid Toptunov, the actor doesnt even look like him, blonde, slender face...other than that, great casting!
Bryukhanov died at 85
They nailed Akimov
now you look like the minister of coal :'D
I haven't watched it yet, maybe I should.
You should Is amizing
Yes , you should
Impressive. Very interesting.
The serie is great.
Would love to know what choral piece you set to the video.
It is quite sad knowing that some of these people are still dying today. Bryukhanov died last year..
Boris stolchurk STILL WORK THERE TO 1986 TO 2019
I don't think ANYONE works at Chernobyl right now... 😅
Imagine what he saw that night in control room...
@@lunalgaleo1991 There are other 3 reactors there in Chernobyl which are being decommissioned plus the cleaning work for the reactor core 4 still goes on!
@@Killjoy1204 dont forget the dissasembly of the unfinished reactors 5 & 6.
İts very impressive boris stolyarchuk is still alive
I pay my respects and sympathies to those who gave their lives to prevent a global fallout and help containing the remaining radiation from the power plant.
That music sound like #Gylala Countryballs School!
THIS VIDEO ITS SO SAD FOR WATCH, BUT THATS GRATES MENS WHO WANTS TELL THE TRUE TO THE PEOPLE AROUND THERE..
2:51 yuvchenko died in 2008 he is not alive
To all sacrificed theirselves to save continent. Turkey also affected from radiation wave coming from Chernobyl Power Plant but now I see they tried to fix it with all they had. Respect from Turkey!
Of the Chernobyl 3, as confirmed in the HBO Show ending, 2 are alive today, and one died to radiation or old age, probably a mix.
The the one who died was Boris Boranav (1940-2005), he died in 2005 from a heart attack at 65.
4:43 I'm pretty sure those guys are alive. 2 of them.
Yes they are although some people say that none of them are alive, some say one died of leukimea but the reason for baranov(the one on far left)'s death is heart complications
It shows that. The video from 4:30 to 5:42 is all about those three.
What about Valery Khodemchuk? (The Guy Who's Body that's Buried in the Plant)
True aleksander yuvchenko died in 2008
Hey, good video, but Alexsandr Yuvchenko died in 2008...
I though Akimov and Sitnikov were the same actor!
Unfortunately, Bryukhanov is no longer alive
Александр Ювченко скончался в 2008 году от последствий большой дозы облучения
Yuvchenko isn’t alive and wasn’t either 3 years ago. He died 2009 in leukemia.
The compilation of sacrifice (death) " except dyatlov is hateful" and Experience (alive)
4:44 were these firefighters who were first responders?
Bryukhanov is 86 today, his age isn't unknown
He died on october last year in Kiev
@@cofo7117 Still his age wasn't unkown
@@valle4242 yes, thats true
Sad about toptunov
Alexander Yuvchenko died in 2008 at the age of 47
Rip
its so sad how most of them died before they were even 30
my favorite character is stolyarchuk
Bryukhanov is 85 years old
He died October 13th, 2021
Akimov last words : i do all thing good i dont know how it happens .
Toptunov last words : i do all what i could .
Dyatlov last words : that reactor should not have been put into gear at all . (Sorry for english)
They discussed the possible reasons of the catastrophe while they were in the hospital in Moscow. Shortly after Toptunov and Akimov died. Dyatlov wrote letters to their families and never blamed them - unlike in the movie. They pressed AZ 5 to simply shut the reactor down after the test (AZ5 isn't only used in emergencies). But none of them were aware of the flawed design of the reactor. They all agreed if knowing that, none of them would have gone and work there.
Brukhyanov is born in 1936
He was born a year earlier in 1935
Toptunov is very different
3:16 That aged badly
they actually might of got gorbechov to play him Edit: (This is a joke)
But Sasha yuvchenko died in 2008?
Wiktor briuchanov 13 października
someone didn't do their research
Sasha yuvchenko is dead
The worst of humanity and the best of humanity.
I hate to burst the bubble but yuvchenko died at 47, and is not alive
Where is khomyuk?
She's fictional characters based on several real life scientists.
Tarakanov is 88
LESGOV DIED ON THE SAME DAY HAPPEN
Yep exactly 2 years after
This video is not great not terrible.
Que pena
Complicado
3:38
Only bad casting option in my opinion
Why are Russian faces always so strange
Tantas mujeres bonitas que tuvieron que haber muerto y uno aquí soltero 😢hahah
