I’ve never bought Drops yarn. I’ve wanted. I’ve loved. I’ve drooled over. I’ve imagined the texture of a wool silk blend. One day. One day. 😊

Hello Sarah. I'm from Australia and we can only buy Drops online. Wool Warehouse has always been my go to for Drops. You've inspired me to make Cotton Candy as well!

Nice, you should definitely do it! I love my cotton candy sweater. It's too warm to wear it at the moment but I'm thinking of making another 🤗

The waves of romance is amazing too, it's one of my most worn knit! I think the cotton candy is meant to be knitted with brushed Alpaca silk and kids silk, I've knitted it too:) Safran is a brilliant yarn as well!

The Billy jean top is amazing! The neck line is everything, I ordered yarn to make another one as soon as I was done knitting the first one!

I'm so excited to have found you ! Watching you get so excited over your new yarns and patterns ! I've been a life long crocheter since I was a girl, but finally started knitting 2 to 3 years ago, and I love it ! I'm addicted to knitting shawls right now, but I still love crocheting them too ! I have a little channel to but it's grown very slowly because I couldn't put up videos very often. I was really into c2c picture afghans, so it took awhile to get done so I could put up a new video. Anyway.. really enjoyed watching you and I look forward to seeing your makes ! See you next time !!

Thanks Carol, I'm definitely going to hop on over and take a look at your channel! As you can probably tell I'm in the same boat as you with uploads. It can be a lot and I'm not very quick at making, lol. I'm so happy you enjoyed my excitement over new projects 😊

Have you made Drops patterns before? I tried one and really struggled. I am self-taught and pretty adventurous. But Drops patterns were a total mystery to me. Oh, I see you knit-I crochet. That could be the difference.

That very well could be the main difference. I like their knitting patterns and find them relatively user friendly and fit me well. I do crochet as well but I haven't attempted to crochet a Drops pattern. Maybe I'll tackle that next but i'll keep in mind it may be a bit a struggle... Good luck with your future projects!

I’ve tried and made some of their patterns. I love the outcome. I agree there is a learning curve to their approach. I always have to do a mock up on cheap acrylic yarn. It’s easy to see your stitches and find possible errors.
They frequently have odd starts. My most frequent Drops knit said to start right back shoulder for one ridge. Then, start left shoulder for one ridge. Now, add (x#) stitches to join left and right back. Knit 3 ridges. 😢😢😢
As the two sides already have a ridge, how am I expected to equally create 3 ridges across?
This instruction not only sounded/read incorrect, but I couldn’t make it look right. Ever. So, changes were made BY ME for my sanity and because aesthetic. Am I right?
I cast on the combined total of stitches and did a single short row (and back) on each side leaving a smooth cast on edge and the shaping they were trying to create.
If you think and build in a way different from a creator, you can change it. Whether you turn L or 7 you end up in the same place. Don’t be afraid to “correct” directions for the way you understand things or your building style.
