Mrs Patmore: (mutters as she walks off with her commission) "Oh, why did I say anything? Why did I say anything? WHY did I say anything?? Oh, WHY OH WHY, OH WHYYYY! Did I SAY anything??? 😂
Before modern obstetrics, women risked a lot to have sex even within marriage. Also, before divorce became socially acceptable, marriage was a 50-50 chance of happiness. Most women were thus happier working than being a wife. They would do the same kind of work anyway as a wife, cleaning, cooking, etc. Most of them didn't think sex was worth the difficulties that came with it.
Very Unpopular Opinion: I never liked Carson and Hughes as a couple. I always felt like Mrs. Hughes was too good for him. I liked their friendship, of course. I didn't understand why they had to become a couple. But what does everyone else think?
In my opinion, the evolution of their friendship into a romantic relationship made sense to me. What I find off-putting is Carson in general. He comes across as hoity-toity. And don't get me started on how he revere's the Crawley family, practically worships the ground they walk on🙄🤢
I freaking love Mrs Patmore :D

very unpopular indeed
this couple is wonderful
@@andressarodrigues3286 I saw no need for them to be a couple
I liked them as a potential couple, but once they got together they kinda lost their partnership in a way.
I understand why you would think that. I was a little ambivalent about a romantic relationship.
