Frozen Foods You Should And Shouldn't Cook In Your Air Fryer

  • Let's face it: Air fryers are basically magic. The concept of frying food without all of the fat and calories typically associated with the cooking method might seem confusing to those out of the loop, but it basically boils down to circulating hot air with little to no need for oil. Basically, thanks to air fryers, fried food aficionados can get that delicious, crunchy crispiness they love without harming their health - and without watching their waistlines expand.
    Still, while aspiring cooks can prepare tons of different items using air fryers, there are definitely some types of food you should avoid tossing into your new favorite kitchen gadget. With that in mind, these are a few frozen foods you should and shouldn't cook in your air fryer.

      French fries and pork chops was pretty good last tonight. I cooked a steak the night before in air fry mode. It was ok. I probably can do a better tasting steak if I experiment around some.

    Two of my favorite things made in the air fryer are burgers and steaks. They taste 100% better to me than frying when we can't use the charcoal grill in the winter. Also, I'm team microwave bacon every other form of cooked bacon tastes way too greasy to me.

      Interesting. A friend of mine does her burgers and steaks air fried too. But the vid says no. Bacon, micro? It's been to long since I've done that, but I shall revisit it.

    So I have a tray style air fryer and use both trays, covered in foil, to do bacon. 5 strips each tray for 4 mins, flip, 4 mins. As whatever else I cook, bacon is the less fuss. And when a batch is done, pouring the grease either in a makeshift tin foil cup in the sink or in a normal cup to add to gravy later is a win. Plus you can monitor in real time as it cooks compared to ovens and guessing (I'm 6' 3" and bending down to the oven is a pain). Just my 2 cents.

    I think you should try pre cooked bacon and other meats that have then been frozen. I cook my bacon, sausage and pork chops in a skillet and stove and then freeze them. Then I use the air fryer to heat them up instead of a microwave. Try it.

    Regarding frozen meats, you should take a look at The Salted Pepper’s channel, Louise is the name of the lady and she’s just done a video regarding cooking steaks from frozen in the air fryer, she’s always maintained that you can’t no way, no how, cook a frozen steak in the air fryer, now she’s admitting that she was wrong and you CAN cook frozen meat perfectly in the air fryer. I’m going to ask her about burgers, but I imagine that she’ll say they can be done too.

    I've been starting many foods in the microwave and then putting them in the air fryer for even faster cook times with same level of crisp. You can even preheat your air fryer while you start cooking the food in the microwave.

    Air fryers seems like a better solution than microwaving food most of the time. Even though air fryers are not a full fix for food while microwaving food eliminate most of the nutritions within the food. Hmmm time to make good choices

    Seems like these Don'ts are not really hard Don'ts. They can definitely be done and done well, depending on the air fryer, the portions, the level of fuss and mess you can tolerate. One thing I've never been able to do well is fried tofu. Doesn't come close to pan fried.

Even my frozen veggies come out beautifully “grilled”. I’d definitely check out some other air fryer vids as this one seems to be telling people not to do all the things they should be doing lol. I think I’ll have to respectfully disagree with everything u said not to put in an air fryer lol. My burgers turn out like I had them on a grill, my steaks absolutely get a nice lil crust on them, my bacon turns out perfectly, and my frozen veggies also turn out like they were freshly grilled. Clean up is always a breeze and nothing is ever messy. All the fatty juices flow through the basket into the bottom tray making everything healthier, crispier, and actually way easier to clean up! So ya, gotta disagree there. U may just need a better fryer lol.

    Reading the negative reviews on Amazon on air fryers, they say the fryers take forever to cook anything and dont work for fried foods. The Air Fryers sound interesting, but I would never get one. Basically they are just a very poor version of an Cooking oven with a big fan. Some reviews say the trays that come with the units are cheap and hard to clean. Thats my review.

    • @TalktothehandNails
      @TalktothehandNails 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I only bake desserts in my oven now, ever since getting my air fryer it is LIFE lol. Everything turns out way better in there. I think it’s about getting a good one, although mine was also off Amazon, but has been going strong for years now. Best purchase of my life! U should really give one a try one day. I hesitated for a long time myself, and finally did it and have 0 regrets lol. To be honest, 90% of what’s even being said in this video is wrong. Burgers, steaks and bacon are amazing in the air fryer! Like a BBQ grill. At least that’s my experience anyway. Anywho, just thought I’d share my 2 cents lol.

    Why, why, WHY do all of these informational videos feature the worst voiceovers?!? I presume Mashed and other YT creators are using computer text narration. They're all so annoying -- the technology just isn't there yet in replicating a professional anchor-like vocal tone. But Mashed's voice-overs are a whole other level of awful -- listening to the "voices" is like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard!

      I’ve heard worse voiceover voices than hers, but it’s not pleasant. Sort of a weird droll quality meant to be cute, perhaps, but that’s not all. Every phrase ends with vocal fry, which I’m assured is harmless for the voice but hurts to listen to. Nice clear enunciation at least.
