I am far more worried about getting hit by a driver during rush hour that is texting while driving than by any gunfire. There are some places you really don't want to be walking around at 3 AM and certainly by yourself, but those kind of places exist all over the world.
Seriously, your chance of getting hit by a car or even by lightning is about the same as getting hit by gunfire.

It's wrong to compare NoKo to just any other country with different laws. In most places "getting in trouble" means a fine, having your wallet stolen or maximum being deported. In NoKo any little stupid mistake could get you arrested, tortured or executed. It's an act of superb recklessness to go there.

I wanna go there mainly to experience communism...somewhat..cus theirs is not exactly communism anymore..is more of a dictatorship! But i am from Bulgaria a former soviet country and my parents and grandparents got to experience it but i was born 1995 so i only grew up surrounded by remnants of it.. buildings, music, movies, cars and furniture...and stories from the people around me.. and through my eyes communism was great! Communism brought our country to its peak..in every sphere.. my country was in its best state during that era.. clean streets, polite people, no crime, discipline in schools, excellent students who later on became world famous architects, doctors, mathematicians, scientists..we invented a lot of things as well during that period, we won lots of world medals.., competitions etc.. we has free Healthcare, education etc. Secure jobs and homes for everyone..my parents and grandparents always look back with nostalgia towards these times.. and i grew up also loving that era.. anything from architecture to clothing style.. the life truly seemed ideal. And i know lots of people bash it and hate it and only look at the negatives of that time.. but i wanna go and look at the positives.. and "go back in time" as much as i can.. all we have in Bulgaria from that time now is decaying buildings, old cars left to rot, and all the mafia and gypsies rulling the country! I want to experience communist atmosphere in its full glory! I really hope one day i can bring my child as well!

Should you? No. While I love off the beaten path destinations - and NK is about as off the beaten path as you can get as regards tourism - it is morally wrong to support such a vile, criminal regime with your foreign currency. That would be the case even if security wasn’t a concern, which it definitely is (especially if you’re a U.S. citizen, as the Otto Warbier incident shows).
